Burt’s Bees $5 Honey & Shea Conditioning Body Bar Is a Sweet Bar of Soap

September 2nd, 2011 by Karen 14 Comments

Burts Bees Honey and Shea Conditioning Body Bar

You da man, Burt! Give those bees of yours a big bonus because they’ve been going above and beyond the call of beauty duty lately with some really top tier, affordable products, like the new 100% natural Burt’s Bees Honey & Shea Conditioning Body Bar ($5), available now at drugstores, most grocery stores and also online.

I’ve been using it for about two weeks, just lurving the heck out of the honey-vanilla scent, and I don’t have a single complaint. Frankly, I’m shocked that something this good is so affordable AND natural. Seriously, Burt, you’re kind of a big deal.

Ingredients: Sodium rapeseedate, aqua (water, eau), sodium cocoate, glycerin, parfum (fragrance), butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, mel (honey, miel), royal jelly extract, sodium citrate, CI 77492 (iron oxides), CI 77891 (titanium dioxide)

Big, just like this bar. I like the size of it — the heft — and how it covers a lot of surface area on my skin.

What more can I say, really? It’s a great bar of soap. Rich and luxurious lather, moisturizing, easy to rinse, smells great, doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, and it doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight or uncomfortable. It does a great job removing grit, grime and oils, too.

All that, and it wasn’t tested on animals? Even Tabs is impressed. 🙂

PRICE: $5 for a 5-oz. bar
AVAILABILITY: Available now at at drugstores, grocery stores and also online
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A+

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Haha, I like how “HUSKY” is the emphasized word. Poor Tabs!

I’m not much on bar soaps, but you’ve made me interested in this one! I’ve always like Burt’s Bees.

ooh, this sounds lovely! Honey I Washed The Kids by LUSH is one of my favourite soaps, but it does melt away quickly so i think i’ll try this one out :).

I prefer to use liquid soaps but this one seems really good. May check it out, thanks for the review.

    I’ll bet that smells amazing!

I don’t know about a husky tabby, but my husky black and white cat just finished her midday snack and is taking her afternoon nap, even though it’s not quite noon yet!

I’m a body wash devotee, but you’re making me want to try this bar! 🙂

I’m guessing the husky tabby could be easily located if someone were to open, say, a can of gravy? Just sayin’ 😉

And, happy Friday to you. I hope you take a little extra time to enjoy the long weekend!

I’m at work (shhhhh :), don’t tell them I’m reading this here!), but I would guess both of my husky tabbies are lying under a shade tree in the side yard at home. It’s 100 degrees here today!

Ooh, honey smell is always nice! Sad thing about bar soaps is the glycerin, though. Just sits on top of the skin, like a layer keeping it from breathing. After i cut all products with glycerin, I’ve noticed my skin quality has improved! 🙂 I always keep bar soaps around, though… They’re so decorative 😛

I like Burt’s Bees, but honey might be a tad too moisturizing for my oily skin. I want to try their tomato facial soap next.

Hi Chris, I heard that Burt’s tomato facial soap is being discontinued- I got the last two bars at Whole Foods. Personally I find it too drying for my skin but I love the way it smells.
