Benefit’s New Tinted Lip Balms in Lollibalm, Chachabalm, Posiebalm and Benebalm Go Easy on the Tint, Heavy on the Moisture

May 27th, 2014 by Karen 25 Comments

Benefit Lollibalm Tinted Lip Balm
Lollibalm, one of four new Benefit Tinted Lip Balms available now

Granted, there’s not a dramatic, in-your-face difference among the four shades in Benefit’s new collection of Tinted Lip Balms ($18 each) when I wear them on my lips, but ooh! — they just look so darn cute chillin’ in my makeup bag.

Benefit Tinted Lip Balms
They each have their own personal outfit…

And every. Single. Time. I’ve taken out Chachabalm, Lollibalm, Posiebalm or Benebalm for a touch-up (which I have to do about every hour or so when I wear them) within sight of a gal, I’ve been asked something along the lines of, “Where did ya get that?! It’s adorable!”

So, yeah, fellow packaging suckers, that’s the sign of an eye-catching product. 🙂

Benefit introduced these hydrating lip balms earlier this spring in colors to match their liquid blushes in Cha Cha Tint, Lollitint, Posie Tint and Benetint.

Benefit Chachabalm
Chachabalm

They feel a lot like the Revlon Lip Butters and Dior’s Addict Lip Balms to me — smooth, non-sticky, and firmly on the thicker formula side, as far as lip balms go. My nose and taste buds also detect a mild violet hard candy flavor and scent.

Benefit Benebalm
Benebalm

Thumbs up for mega moisture, too, as these are loaded with the stuff, and my dry, flaky lips lap it up.

Benefit Chachabalm Swatch

Being lip balms, these are all fairly sheer, and to see any real difference in the colors among them, I have to apply a few layers.

That being said, depending on the severity of your Benefit addiction, you may only need/want one or two of them.

If I were to pick a favorite, I’d probably go with red Benebalm, because I think it’s the most distinct and intense one of the bunch.

Lollibalm, the purple shade, would be a close second, mostly because — hello, it’s purple! 🙂 And it’s quite flattering on lips, where I think it looks more like a sheer pink.

I think these have pretty high gift potential, too. They’re cute, and they’re sheer, so they should work for just about everyone.

I’m thinking about getting a couple more for upcoming birthdays, or maybe for an unexpected “Just because you’re awesome” gift.

Those are the best, aren’t they? 🙂

You can find the Benefit Tinted Lip Balms now at Benefit counters, boutiques and online at benefitcosmetics.com for $18 each.

In fabulous feline news, Tabs hopes you had a nice Tuesday. This is his latest kitty modeling pose, by the way. It’s called “Moody Crossed Paws.”

Have a great night! 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I’m totally buying a couple of these to give as just because you’re awesome gifts! And probably one for myself. I’ve always loved the tinted balm, almost lipstick look and these are some of the cutest around!

      Hi Breyerchic04,

Nice! Which shade do you think you’ll pick up for yourself?

Benebalm looks meow-worthy! Would live to check this baby out. I also checked out the Bite lip BBs-the shade “Tawny” looked yummy, as did the wine and plum shades.

On a random aside, what’s your current skincare routine like?

Purrs and meows to my handsome nephew!

      Hi Musical,

It’s kind of in transition at the moment. Everything I’ve been using all ran out at the same time, so now I’m kind of itching to try some new things. I went to Sephora yesterday and I picked up this MURAD’s Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum, which I’m going to start using tonight. I’ve also been really liking everything I’ve tried from Amore Pacific. They have the botanicals high up in the ingredient list, and their products don’t break me out or irritate my skin. I’m my second bottle of their Treatment Enzyme Peel, and I just finished up their hydrating serum.

What skin care are you loving these days?

I absolutely love the Amore Pacific products I’ve tried so far. My face doesn’t get irritated and stays moisturized without feeling greasy or filmy.

Ooh, Nikita! Tell me about what you’re tried from Amore Pacific. Right now I’m using the Age Defense Dual Eye Creme and the Rejuvenating Serum (just ran out of this and am thinking of picking another one up, although if there’s something else better I might try that instead).

Hey bella! I haven’t tried much from Amore Pacific (except a sample of their day cream/gel a while ago. I am looking to change my routine a bit, mostly a new night cream. I have heard great things about Amore Pacific-I should try it next.

But here are some true and tested thingies that always work for me (followed by what I am trying at the moment):

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Oil (instant calming effect of on skin and hydration central! Plus the aromatherapeutic effect helps me.)

Clinique toners and day time moisturizers Moisture Surge and Dramatically Different versions). Always consistent!

            Clarins SPF 40.

            Rosehip + Sea-buckthorn oils= major love!

            Currently trying:

Andalou 1000 roses toner for sensitive skin. Nicely hydrating, and smells divine!

I tried a sample of Kiehl’s Rosa Arctica past winter and really liked it. Right now I am using the Multi-corrective cream. It’s a decent moisturizer.

            Olay’s regenerist eye serum. LOVE!

Vitamin C serum and eye cream by FutureDerm. So far so good-have heard good things about their stuff. Hopefully with consistent use, it will deliver!

Dr. Dennis Gross’s Retinol+Ferulic serum. Again, it will need consistent use.

Jurlique’s herbal recovery gel. Nice, basic mositurizer/serum with minimal ingredients. Calming and aromatherapeutic.

I also have deluxe samples of a cream and serum duo from Algenist and a serum from Caudalie. Will try them soonish.

These are super cute, but for that price the pigmentation is just too lacking for me to justify buying any of them.

A little more colour would have been nice… but great idea to give them as gifts, especially since the packaging is so darn cute!

I like benetints but these are so sheer, might as well go with fresh sugar lip tints, they’re pigmented, moisturizing, and has spf 15…

The untinted Fresh sugar lip treatment (brown tube) is my “go to”. I try to use BITE’s Agave lip mask at night before bed. I live in Phoenix and chapped lips are a constant battle. I’d LOVE to hear about anyone else’s intensive lip moisture products/routine. Karen. . . do you have a favorite for when your lips are super dry/peeling????

Hmmm… I’m kinda on the fence about these. I have really pigmented lips, but a lighter skintone than you so I really don’t know how these would play out on me. =/ I really like the idea of having a moisturizing version of Bene, Posie, and Lolli tint, but I don’t know if I could shell out $18 on a lip balm.

Gah… hopefully Benefit will come out with minis?

I was really excited for these because I’m a sucker for tinted balms. But these are really not tinted at all… or very very lightly tinted. I’ll pass :/

I was so excited about these 🙁 There’s far too less pigment to show up on my lips.. couldn’t they have packed more pigment in there may be just a degree up?

The packaging on these is a total winner! I want to have them all, and wear them over top of their corresponding stains 🙂 Of course, they’re probably going to be $40 each here (which is, uh, a lot for a lip balm!), bit damned if they aren’t super gorgeous!
