Oprah and Dr. Oz on the Science of Beauty

November 12th, 2008 by Karen 9 Comments

Did you catch yesterday’s Oprah? She and Dr. Oz, her BFF medical buddy, went over some of the most common beauty concerns (like adult acne) and most popular beauty trends and fads out there and then gave beauty checkups to a select group of women from the audience.

Oz looked at their overall health, both medical and emotional, and, after running the women through a barrage of blood tests, sat down with them to discuss eating and exercise habits and the other aspects of their lives.

Oprah.com has a section dedicated to the Science of Beauty. It’s a great resource.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I love Dr. Oz – he’s so easy to understand. Yesterday’s episode was so good… I was relieved to finally hear decisively that there is nothing you can do for cellulite! I wish there was, but now I can save my pretty pennies on no-good creams.

I’m so happy that Oprah’s website finally has some decent videos on it. For they would just have a picture with a lengthy caption.

    Hi Tuprnut,

I wish there was a magic cream for cellulite… and stretch marks! 🙂

Stretch marks, amen! I lost 70lbs about 2 1/2 years ago, and now I’m left with those hideous little beasts. Ugh.

    Oh well.

You’ve only got one body, and you won’t gain anything from hating it your whole life, right?

    Hi P. Potter,

You bring up a good point. I’ve lost a lot of weight in the last few months (stress related) and the boobs were the first to go. I’m going to try and be cool with it, though. I’m just happy this body is healthy (knock on wood), you know?

    Hi KK,

LOL, I put those two on my drugstore list, ha ha ha! My feet are all sorts of terrible right now. Dry skin is such a PIA!

I had a good, but busy Wednesday! I got to see a friend for coffee today and I made it to dance class so I also got a work out in, too.

I hope you feel better soon… ugh, cramps are crap!

Oh gosh ladies…I’m gaining weight, but am putting a stop to it…the first thing I did notice though is that the ta-tas were getting bigger, LOL…and I like it! However, in order for the thighs to get smaller, the ta-tas increase will most likely be short-lived, LOL.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
