How to: A Simple Sugar Scrub for Luscious Lips

Today Jessica of Picturesque Makeup shares a delicious DIY lip exfoliator that costs next to nothing to do.

sugar-scrub
Here’s a quick and simple sugar scrub to soften dry/flakey lips:

  1. Load some lip balm (a smooth one, not sticky — I prefer Rosebud Strawberry Lip Balm) onto one of your fingers.
  2. Dip the finger into some plain old granulated white sugar (keep a small jar for beauty purposes in your vanity).
  3. Rub the sugar balm mix all over your lips to exfoliate, wiping clean with a tissue.

It’s a great (and great tasting) alternative to more expensive lip scrubs and takes practically no time at all. 🙂 Do it before bed, and then slap on a little more lip balm for lusciously soft lips the following morning.

you can also replace the balm with pure honey. besides acting as a lip balm, honey can also make your lips turn more pinky!

Sugar is a simple and effect way to exfoliate. I use sugar and orange oil for my hands, but I will put this tip to good use for my dry chapped lips during the winter.

keep a small jar for beauty purposes in your vanity –> best tip. Because I find myself too lazy to dip into the sugar jar in the kitchen. I don’t know why.

Yummy! Thank you, tastes great, works better. Except I just licked the sugar off my lips rather than wiping it off with a tissue…

Considering that my fave skin exfoliator is lemon juice and raw sugar, I think this suggestion sounds great – I must try it!
