“Backcombing,” or brushing against the grain of your brow hairs, with a brow gel that’s slightly lighter than my hair color is my speedy secret to full, fluffy, but also pretty well-defined brows.
Good luck to the fool who tries to pry my tube of Hourglass Brow Gel in Warm Brunette outta my T. Rex claw because they’d be in a world of hurt! I might only be 5’1″, but this girl is feisty and has FEELINGS about this gel (all the good ones, ’cause it’s truly the best one out there IMO).

Have you tried the Benefit Gimme Brow? Would love to know how this compares!
Karen says
Hi Anna,
I have! I like the clear version of Benefit’s gel a lot, especially when paired with a pencil (MAC’s Brow Sculpt is great). It was my go-to for months before I found Hourglass Arch. I’ve tried the tinted versions of Gimme Brow but don’t like them as much as Arch though. I think the level of pigment in Arch is higher, and I think it sticks to my skin better.

Hey Cha,
You’re so sweet. It’s coming down up here in Marin County, but nothing too crazy at the moment, and I’m contemplating doing a Target run before the heavy duty stuff really comes down (do I dare?!). I hope you’re having a fabulous Friday so far. You stay dry (or try to at least).

Girl! I need to try this trick!! Speaking of brows, I tried Ardell’s Brow Building Fiber Gel on a lark (it was half off at Bed Bath & Beyond, and I thought “why the hell not”) and it’s JUST POSSIBLE that I found a good drugstore brow option…??? I still need to compare it to the hourglass (which I’m sure will 100% blow me away) but for $3, I have to admit I’m pretty happy. I have to unload the brush before I use it (I’ve been scraping it against the top of the container) otherwise it’s too darn juicy, but once I do that it’s pretty easy to manage, and I think looks really pretty and natural.
