21 Makeup Tutorials

21 Makeup Tutorials

Hi, ladies (and gents!). Here are 21 makeup tutorials and guides showing some of my favorite application techniques.

My favorite tutorials aren’t necessarily the ones with the highest production value, aka the sharpest looking videos and pictures. I like tutorials that stand out for some reason because that helps me remember the material.

When I find a particularly helpful new makeup tutorial, I’ll copy/paste some of the pictures (or take screenshots if it’s a video, or save pics to my phone) into Word or something and print them out with notes.

A BIG thanks to the people who put these tutorials together. Keep up the great work!

I know of quite a few of these tuts. I just need to spend some time playing with my own stuff and seeing what works/doesn’t work.

I’m putting myself on a strict no-buy budget for the next like 6 months. I’m having money issues and I just can’t keep spending money on things I don’t REALLY need. I just need to get my priorities straight and use up what I have. If you haven’t heard of lollipop26 on youtube, you should check her out. She’s doing something she calls Project 10 Pan.

I think its a great way to save money and rediscover some of your old stuff. She has a blog and this is the link to the details. I think all beauty mavens should really check out project 10 pan. I’m doing it!

      Hi Kim,

Thanks for sharing that link. I’ve gone through strict no-buy periods to save money, too. It’s tough in the beginning but it gets easier. Good luck!

I saw Lolli’s project 10 pan too Kim! But doesn’t it annoy anyone to use up all your fav things in your collection? Cause there no way I’d use up all the kind of sucky stuff. And I don’t really want to repurchase the good stuff if I can moderate it a bit.. But I really want to do project 10 pan though!

So funny, we must visit a lot of the same tutorial sites. Some of the girls who do tutorials such as the ones you listed above are so great in what they do. If anyone likes what they see, they should search for more videos by them as they all have a slew out there which are great for inspiration & fun ideas. Thanks Karen!

Heather, I totally agree. It kills me to have to use some items up but I’m really forcing myself to do it. I REALLY want a ton of new summer pallettes and this is my way to not spend money for a long while, then get my most prized (precious… PRESH!) pallette.

I do have quite a few craptastic items I’d like to get rid of. Lolli has this weird blue lip gloss, and I have a few stupid glosses too. I’ll sleep in gloss. In Style! 😀

    Thanks a lot Karen!
I’m the lead in a musical on the 14-15th, and its Grease.
I need a preppy, clean, 50-ish makeup look (I’m slickin’ my hair back in a ponytail already, so hair is covered :)).
    Any ideas?
I’m Sandy in the musical, and I look like her to.

      Hi Kailey,

Congrats on getting the lead! That’s fantastic. I used to do musical theater a loooong time ago. 🙂 Never did Grease, but always wanted to.

When I think of 50s makeup I think of my girl Audrey Hepburn. I’m thinking big false lashes, thick black liner, rosy cheeks and peachy pink lips. Here’s a video tutorial and a text/photo tutorial. 🙂 Hope this helps, and congrats again on getting Sandy (“You’re the one that I want… oh, oh, oooh, honey!”).

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
