Two Ways to Win MAC Zinc Zone Greasepaint Stick

  • The giveaway is now closed. Congrats to the winner, Kelly! Before you go, check the home page for ongoing giveaways.

G’mawning, ladies. 🙂 The MAC Art Supplies collection’s been out for a couple of weeks now … which in MAC time’s like an ETERNITY. Have you gotten a chance to play with any of the Greasepaint Sticks from the release?

They’re the chubby, flexible pencils you’ve seen in the promo pics. I love ’em because they double as shadows AND eyeliners… I have a soft spot for products that multi-task.

For our first blog task here today, I thought we’d start with a giveaway, it being Tuesday and all.

Are you ready?

The prize

One lucky lady will win MAC’s Greasepaint Stick in Zinc Zone, a shimmery gunmetal eye crayon liner that doubles as an eyeshadow (an $18 value).

How to enter…

2ways2enterEntering is easy. There are two different ways, and you can do both of them for two chances to win.

First, you can enter by leaving a comment at the bottom of this post. In it, tell me about an eye product you’ve been loving lately, and share what makes it special.

Lately I’ve been practically sleeping with my MAC Technakohl liners… It’s true lurve! And they’re totally hooked on my waterline, meaning they stay put there all day long, and better still — they don’t even have to be sharpened. How cool is that!?

Follow me
Second, enter by following me on Twitter and retweeting (RT) the following message:

Follow @karenmbb and RT to win MAC Zinc Zone Greasepaint Stick (an $18 Value) http://bit.ly/9Wo686

Recap…

  1. Enter by leaving a comment at the bottom of this post, and don’t forget to use a valid email address so I can reach you if you win.
  2. Follow me on Twitter and retweet the following message:

Follow @karenmbb and RT to win MAC Zinc Zone Greasepaint Stick (an $18 Value) http://bit.ly/9Wo686

I’ll pick the winner at random from among the people who enter by 11:59 p.m. PST on Thursday, April 15.

Bona lluita!!

Karen

I’d love to try the greasepaint stick!

Lately, I’m ALWAYS using the darkest color in Maybelline EyeStudio Duo in Grey Couture (not sure if you have it in the States). It’s just love! <3

An eyeproduct I really rave about is the max factor “Glide & Define” liquid eyeliner. It is perfect for me. I wear it in “Smoke” and usually I take 5 minuts to do my eyes with a different product. But this one make me do it in 2 minuts!!! And the coulour pay-off is perfect. It stays put through out the day and doesn’t run, like the other drugstore brands.

Lately, I’ve been loving MUFE Smoky Lash!

I keep re-buying it whenever I run out, but then give into my mascara boredom and buy something new.

I always go back to Smokey Lash because I remember how AMAZING it is!

I’m a creature of habit, meaning black and brown liners were all that I would wear but lately I have been loving COLORS! Mainly my Designer Purple pearlglide eyeliner. It’s so easy to use and I get compliments from my husband when I use it. That’s HUGE since he never compliments me on my makeup! I love the ease of the pencil and the color is great!

I’ve been absolutely loving my Lancome Artliner in Smoke. I’ve had this guy chilling in my makeup organizer for awhile and I just randomly got him out once and fell in love again. I’m incapable of using any other liquid liner, this one is just so easy to control. Plus the color is great, which is always a bonus.

I’m going to have to go with my Clinique Brow Keeper. I’m letting my eyebrows grow in a bit so if I didn’t use this pencil religiously the strays would be unbearable. Plus, my brows would look like they had the mange. Isn’t it funny that stray eyebrow hair seems to pop up overnight when you don’t want it, but when you actually do want those little guys to grow, it takes a month? 🙂

Eyeliners are the one beauty item that I always use up (unlike, say, lipstick or nail polish!). I’ve been loving Smashbox’s pencil eyeliner because it’s so smudgeable and pigmented. The problem with it is that it’s a little too smudgeable, so I set it with LORAC Pro liquid liner, which I also love because it’s one of those felt tips where the liquid just comes out from the pen-like apparatus without dipping in anything. MAC may give Smashbox a run for its money though. Would love to try these!

Have you ever tried Aveda’s Petal Essence Eye Definers? They’re creamy and amazing for smudging and blending (great for smokey eyes), but if you throw a bit of shadow on them, they won’t move or crease. I’m partial to Wild Indigo right now because I think navy blue is a nice change from black for spring.

I’ve been loving my El Cheapo drugstore find, the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Iced Mocha. I am lazy as can be when it comes to applying makeup and this pencil doubles as shadow on the top lid and liner on the bottom….doesn’t get much quicker than that. In addition to the convenience factor, my brown eyes look harsh if I put super dark liner on them. This creates a wonderful, light smoky eye that doesn’t make me look like an old-fart version of hussy-face Gossip Girl tart Taylor Momsen.

Lately I’ve been CRAZY about MAC’s fluidline gel in Blitz & Glitz and Blacktrack. I love how easy it was to apply, the length that it stays (I washed my face by accident once, and most of the liner was still there afterward!) I use the Blitz & Glitz mainly for the lower lash line, whereas Blacktrack really brings out my eyes when applied on my upper lash line.

My contact enhanced eyes usually just weep everything off my waterline, but this just wears like iron.

Really been all over Too Faced Insurance lately..I switched from using UDPP after a year and I have to say, this is much more better! Urban Decay’s primer was too soft, like it could be all over the place. Too Faced…it’s “harder” and more “pigmented” I guess. haha

I’m not a big Lorac fan but about a week ago, I ran out of mascara and the only mascara I could find in my apartment was Lorac Black mascara. How it got there, I know not. But since leaving the house WITHOUT mascara was not an option, I decided to use it. Oh my Gawd…..This is the best mascara I’ve ever used. It’s the blackest black, one side is a brush and a quick 180 degree flick of the wrist and it’s a comb, separating the lashes making sure each and every one is fully covered. This mascara adds volume and length, widening the eyes like you wouldn’t believe. It worked so well that I had to spend the full hour with my best friend trying to convince her that I didn’t sneak behind her back and have some “work” done. This is one mascara you MUST try!!!!!Oh, and did I mention it comes in a gorgeous Ocean/Navy Blue too?

I really love trying different colored bases and liners so here’s what I’ve been loving lately! For bases I’ve been reaching for MAC’s rubenesque paint pot and Urban Decay primer potion in Sin a lot. They both work very well under warm colors (which is coming back since summer will be here soon!) and give gorgeous effects to my shadows no matter what I’m using. For liner, I like Urban Decay’s Bourbon, my Avon glimmersticks I just bought, and a gel liner from coastal scents called “exotic.” I also just purchased tarte’s “lights camera splashes” and I’m excited to try it!

I have the shortest, stumpiest lashes so I have grown addicted to fake lashes – these ones are full and frame my eyes nicely without looking too fake. I often have people come up to me saying “OMG, your lashes are GINORMOUS! What mascara do you use?” And then they have to do a double, triple, quadruple take when I tell them they are fake! 🙂

I’m loving MAC’s Tempting eyeshadow. It’s such a gorgeous golden bronze colour. I can use it all over the lid or even on the crease for some added definition. Even though it’s an lustre, there is such an awesome colour payoff and isn’t too shimmery or glittery.

    Karen!

Wow, it’s been a long time! I hope you still remember me wayyyyy back in the day when I was here a lot more! I hope you have been doing well 🙂 Remember that I emailed you before I went to San Francisco? :):)

I hope that the product I’m listing is still an eye product. It’s an eyelash curler that my friend gifted for me while she was in Hong Kong. I didn’t use it for a long time after she gave it to me because 1) it looked cheap 2) it was travel sized, so I really judged it based on its look. However, one day I couldn’t find my normal lash curler and BAM, this thing worked like a miracle!

It has definitely been the best eyelash curler I’ve ever used. This thing CURLS the hell! Seriously! My lashes are so curled they look full and volumous, it’s really amazing.

It’s called “Pretesa” …. OK I just did a google search and I found it! Here’s the link if anyone’s interested:

    http://bonjour.hk/en/product_detail.aspx?id=1001873&cat=1100&subcat=1012&sku=KAI109372

It is quite cheap… it’s around $4 after the conversion, but it’s amazing. These past few months have been very hard on me (school) and sleep definitely > makeup (just for now!), and all I do in the morning is my foundation, curl my lashes, and mascara. Sometimes I don’t even do mascara ’cause this baby curls like no other!

Hope that helps!! It’s so good to be back, Karen!

    Irene

An eyeproduct that is practically glued to my hand and a constant follower in my huge workpants (yeah, hrmm…I carry it around in them even at work) is my Chanel Kohl pencil in Amber. Great for brown eyes, reflects beautifully on the eyes and is not to harsh.
    For work and nightlife.
    Love it.

I also like to use it as my eyeliner applying with an angle brush, like MAC 266. The best thing about these greasepaint sticks is that, they stay on all day! Love love love =D

I love MAC Club eyeshadow right now. The mix between a warm brown and green shimmer looks a bit weird, but it’s a one stop shop. I do primer and then layer Club over my entire lid. Then I take a clean blending brush and blend it through the socket. It goes from a darker brown with green shimmer on my lid blended out a warm brown in my socket. Love.

It’s just a better fit for the softer looks i’ve been wearing lately (I say it’s because of Spring, but actually, I just have less time to get ready in the morning. 🙂 )

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
