Can I get a whoop-whoop from my friends out there who have worn MAC Teddy down to the nubbiest of nubs?!
I was using this teeny, tiny stub yesterday and couldn’t help but laugh because I have been to this rodeo many times before. I grind and grind that pencil down until, one day, I look and realize, “Oh! I should probably replace it soon because I can barely hang onto it with two fingers.” HA HA HA HA!
MAC Teddy liner is a rockstar for a multitude of reasons (LET ME COUNT THE WAYS), but one standout for me is how well it layers with copper and red eyeshadows. That bronzed brown just werks with copper and red shades.
You can keep it easy-peasy lemon squeeze-y by lining your lash and/or waterlines with Teddy and then sweeping your copper or red shadow on your lids.
Or, optionally, you can do what I affectionately refer to as “sandwiching,” which is when you layer Teddy underneath and on top of a shadow for a smokey eye. I think it’s a surefire way to make even the craziest colors wearable.
The shadow I’m wearing here is MAC Firewerk the Room (from the new holiday collection), and it’s a straight-up red. On its own, it’s borderline bananas, but layered with Teddy it magically transforms the look into a wearable daytime smokey eye.
Start by buffing a layer of Teddy on your lids with a finger before sweeping a little Firewerk the Room (or any other red shimmery shadow) directly on top. Then buff with your favorite eyeshadow brush to feather out the edges.
Finish by lining your lash and waterlines with MOAR TEDDY, and don’t forget your mascara!

Really pretty! I am interested in those MAC Extra Dimension Foil eyeshadows because I love the regular Extra Dimension shadows.

They have a similar soft powder base, so you’ll probably love it. The glitter flecks are generally medium sized. Visible but not obnoxious! I was playing with the pink shade today and it does so much better when applied or blended with fingers!

You already know I love MAC Teddy as much as you do. But girl you need to get a pencil lengthener/extender so you can use it “all the way down to the nub”.

I love the Subculture with the lip balm. Where are you finding the Nuxe Lip Balm? I haven’t seen it around lately and my pot is almost empty.
Karen says
OMG! I never knew such a thing existed! NEEEEEEEEED IT!
I wish I could say that the Nuxe balm was a fresh new pot, but alas… No. It’s a pot I’ve had for a while that I just kinda forgot about! I was cleaning out a drawer and there it was. If I can find it around online I’ll let you know. 🙂

For the pencil lengthener, there are multiple brands on the Blick site. They’re also the kind of thing you can find at a local art supply or stationery store. If there are any left that is. Sigh. So many places going out of business.
I’ll keep my eye out for Nuxe, too. I thought I read somewhere that they pulled out of the US market. It’s been a while since I’ve been to France which is where I usually stock up.
Just found the stick form (which is lighter in texture) at BeautyHabit. Pot is sold out. https://www.beautyhabit.com/collections/nuxe/products/nuxe-reve-de-miel-lip-moisturizing-stick

A friend sent me the stick and I am hoarding it (thank you, Kim!!!). Do you have a particular brand of pencil lengthener that you like?

1. That SHIRT, omg, haha, love!
2. Your teeth look really good.
3. Firewerk the Room seems unwearable, but I bet it could be blush or a lip topper in a pinch, plus it’s pretty on the lids. Surprisingly versatile, hmmm, cool! er, warm?
Karen says
1. You know I love me some Golden Girls!
2. Aww, thanks! I wore braces for a long, long time.
3. I’ll have to try both of those suggestions!
Kim says
So lovely and festive!! 🙂
Karen says
Thanks, lady! 🙂 P.S. You could do this with orange eyeshadow too. Just sayin’.
Kim says
Oh, my gosh. Remember how much I loved that Givenchy ad? The quad never looked very good on me. You would think orange would be great with green eyes but pink has always looked better for whatever reason. Still, that ad. GAH. 🙂 And, I just about had a heart attack that it was back in 2011. How is that even possible?! I’m going to pull it out tomorrow and give it another try. Why not?
