FOR THE LOVE OF CHICKEN STRIPS (this is indicative of my colorful language these days, since Connor’s been repeating everything she hears), I’ve been pushing my luck hard in the mornings to get what I need to get done before heading to the bakery for work.
When it comes time for makeup, I fly up the stairs, grab my most reliable products and tools, and set my timer for three minutes.
One of the reliable products I know I can turn to now is peachy pink MAC Grand Blush ($30), because even in full sunlight (which, you know, takes no prisoners), it absolutely does not make me look crazy. ?
It feels like a finely-packed powder wearing a soft, bouncy cream, and as I smooth it on my cheeks, no particles pool in my pores. Also, hard edges?? What are those?
There’s a comfort in knowing that even though I rushed the makeup (seriously, it’s a miracle I haven’t poked my eye out with a mascara wand), I can dance into my day without looking like a rogue clown who terrifies children in nightmares. ?
(It’s the little things.)
Blush is that often-overlooked connective step that ties many makeup looks together, and so even when I’m doing very simple makeup looks — mascara, tinted moisturizer and a nude (or a bold) lip — I try to make time for blush.
The exceptional ones, like MAC Grand, take a mere 30 seconds to use, and they’re worth it.
The smooth, bouncy texture enthusiastically succumbs to blending, leaving behind smooth gradients, even when you’re rushing so intensely that you’re testing the limits of the space-time continuum.
Best of all, it delivers color that lasts all day long.
If you love makeup but just don’t have the extra bandwidth to handle ANOTHER THING, this blush could be the perfect blush for you. Use it for a sheer wash of color when you’re rushing, or layer it to build up the intensity on days days when you have more time to do the artsy-fartsy stuff.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

You’re always so timely! Believe it or not, I was looking for a light pink blush option the other day. I know – it’s hard to say what came over me, stepping outside Malice for a minute. 🙂 This is just the kind of color I was looking for. And, on a side note, I was just torturing my friend this week with the clown emoji. HAHA!

I never skip blush, that and mascara are the two things that make me look alive.

I bought one of these. What brush do you use?

This blush is so pretty. I also love the lip color on you. What eyeshadows are you wearing in the picture?
Thank you,
Greta

I need a new blush like I need a hole in the head, but I’m kind of digging the slightly peachy-pinkness of this one. It says Spring to me.
Here’s another non-curse phrase to add to your arsenal, courtesy of my 13 y/o: What in the name of Sacagawea?!?! (I think it came from the movie Night At the Museum.) It’s fun to hear a little one try to pronounce Sacagawea.

I can’t skip blush if I’m wearing makeup! For work I even out my skin, do brows and blush. That’s it. It’s not something I want pictures of me in but it’s better than bare. I purchased “blush, please” today. I’m excited to try it!
