MAC Trip and MAC Travel Exclusives: Order by Phone from DFS Galleria in Hawaii

The MAC counter at DFS Galleria in Waikiki

Fellow MACaholics, do you remember those drool-worthy MAC Trip palettes we talked about last month? They’ve been notoriously hard to find, right?

Some readers have tracked ’em down at airports and other places, but I never expected to find them a block from Waikiki Beach!

There’s a MAC counter inside the massive DFS Galleria (duty-free store) at 330 Royal Hawaiian Avenue, a Costco-sized makeup Mecca that caters primarily to international travelers from Japan.

But the store is wide open to everyone, and the MAC counter carries most of the current MAC Travel Exclusives, including several of the new spring and summer MAC Trip Palettes.

I saw these from the spring/summer Trip collection…

  • 5 Cool Eyes Palette, $40
  • 5 Warm Eyes Palette, $40
  • Cool Lips Palette, $23
  • Warm Lips Palette, $23

The counter also carries MAC Travel Exclusives from previous collections, like a Cool Face Palette ($32), a Dazzleglass trio ($48), Slimshine trio ($39) and a trio of double-sided eyeliners from Heatherette.

How to buy!

You DO NOT have to fly out to Hawaii to purchase MAC Trip. You can actually place an order over the phone, but this opportunity may not last. The counter may not be able to handle an influx of calls, so I’m just sayin’… Keep that in mind.

The number to call…

(808) 931-2616

Before calling, have your credit card ready and the name of the item/s you’d like to purchase. DFS will ship your purchase to you for a fee (varies, depending on destination).

To place an order, call the MAC counter at the Waikiki DFS Galleria in Hawaii, (808) 931-2616, between the hours of NOON-11PM PST, and request to place an order by phone.

NOTE: I’m not sure if orders placed by telephone qualify for duty-free (tax-free) status, and I don’t know how long this opportunity will last. Most MAC counters do take telephone orders, but if 15 people call at the same time, you never know. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

What’s a duty-free store? Might sound naive to ask, but I’m curious because I wouldn’t know what a DUTY-included store would be, LOL! 🙂

      Hi Redhead,

      It refers to the tax!

Nice selection, I’m digging those eye palettes. I will for sure check this out at the airport when I fly out in July.

This might be a dumb question… but I was told by a MAC employee that I am NC-40. Does that mean that their cool eyes or warm eyes would look better on me or is that not how it works?

      Hi Shiny,

Warm eyes! But honestly, I don’t really pay attention to cool or warm… I just kinda wear whatever. 🙂

Duty free store = amazing! To answer Redhead’s question: in duty free store, you don’t have to pay tax so that’s a plus for travelers. In some countries, taxes are outrageously high so people likes to hit up the DFS. Plus, you get the merchandise without the fear of buying counterfeits.

      Hi Dao,

You took the words right out of my mouth!

Plus, at duty free shopping places you can often find items and sets that aren’t available at regular counters.

Can a Canadian call the number and have the pallets shipped? I dearly want them (and to go to Waikiki) but the chances of an island vacation are nill.

      Hi Tekoa,

I’m not sure. You can call the number and ask them if they ship internationally. It’s 10 am here so the store is open and you can try. 🙂

Um, I’m so excited to try these out! :o) I’m going to be passing through Heathrow Airport soon though and I know there’s a MAC counter there, so hopefully they’ll have Trip. Otherwise… I’ll just have to… deal, I guess.

By the way, thank you soooo much for doing the post regarding photo makeup, all the tips helped so much, and the photos turned out amazing! 🙂

I called for Cool Eyes and yeah I wish I lived in HI bc shipping to Chicago is nuts! (FedEx, cheapest option is almost $20).

On the upside, my boyfriend passed through Heathrow yesterday and picked up for me the Bronze Eye/Cheek and Warm Eyes Palettes (total 43 pounds for BOTH)

They were out of Cool Eyes though 🙁

Aloha Karen, Guess what we will be in Oahu on June 15-30. Hope to see you there. We have had the shaved ice Lilikoi there. I love the North Shore and all the shopping places in Waukiki. Hope to find some great deals. I would love to have some items to take along with me to have a little color for a new look in Hawaii. Have any for me. I love the new colors you have listed this year and to win a prize would be great. Mahalo

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
