MAC Sugarsweet Collection Pictures and Swatches

MAC Sugarsweet MAC Cosmetics Swatches

“Oh, sweet thing, don’t you know you’re my everything?”
— Chaka Kahn/Mary J. Blige

Just one look at the MAC Sugarsweet Collection set my sweet tooth throbbing.

This pastel confection of pink, green and peach eyeshadows, lipsticks, glosses and Mineralize Skinfinish Powders reminds me of cupcakes, candies and all the tasty goodies associated with stretchy pants. 🙂

I took a sneak peek at about 90% of the collection (the counter was missing some bits) last night. When the full collection arrives at MAC counters on the 19th, I’ll update the post with the additional swatches. For the entire product list and pricing, here’s a handy thread on Specktra.

Aquavert Eyeshadow and Cakeshop Shadestick are on my spring Christmas list. Don’t those greens look good together? I might wear them both layered together on my lid, topping off the look with some false lashes. YUM!

Well, my sweet, what’s your Sugarsweet tooth saying to you about Sugarsweet so far?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I love how you combined Cakeshop and Aquavert, i was thinking it’d look fab before i saw you did it. Great minds think alike when it comes to makeup too! I’ve gotta get those two! I’m thinking about lollip loving and refined too!

    Hi BJ,

Lollipop Loving is a must! I have it from last year’s Heatherette release and it’s so pretty. It flashes from orange to green… but in a totally good way. 🙂

    Hey Karen,

I’m loving the Cakeshop shadestick, Refined MSF, and all the sahdows. I already have Lollipop Lovin and it’s great especially paired with Nice To Be Nice lipglass from HK. Also, I am totally digging that Peppermint Patty polish!

What do you think of the MSfs? Are they chalky? Also, do you think that the Refined or Perfect Topping MSF will look better on me? I have tan, Asian skin with yellow undertones and black hair.

Mmm, I’m totally taking Aquavert and Perfect Topping. This collection looks gorgeous! Can’t wait until everything comes out. 😉 I also need to snag Stars ‘N Rockets with this collection, ’cause for some reason, my counter is ALWAYS out of that shadow whenever I visit. I’ve been pining for the purple-y goodness since forever.

    Hi Vampy Varnish,

LOL! I was actually thinking about walking to the bake shop down the street in a few to get a red velvet cupcake. 🙂

Peppermint Patty looks like a lot of fun. That shade of mint green was my favorite color in sixth grade, LOL!

    Hi Crystal,

They didn’t seem chalky to me, just a bit lighter than I expected. For you I’d probably go with Refined, just because it’s more peachy, which I think willl mesh better with yellow-toned skin. Still, you never know until you try something on… maybe do both when you get to the counter?

      Hi Camellia,

Out of those you listed would go with Peppermint Patty Nail Polish and one of the Shadesticks (I’m partial to Cakeshop). While those MSF colors are pretty, I prefer ones that are less pastel.

If only my mac counter could also sell me one of those red velvet cupcakes up top, mmmm… Don’t be a-scared of the pastels Karen! I think anyone can wear any kind of color if applied and edited well.

Thanks so much for the swatches! All of the colors look so beautiful on your skin tone.
Quick Question – What was the consistency like for the Shade Sticks? I have some shade sticks alreay, but I felt that they were very drying. Do you think that made them creamier than before?

Beautiful swatches! Lollipop Loving!! Soooo funny, I just wrote you on the Mac Fafi “Things I do for love” page telling you about how my Mac addiction all started with a Mac Lollipop Loving review that has turned me into an out of control Mac addict. I could have saved quite a few dollars if I would have known it was going to be a repromote! LOL I absolutely love the green eyeshadows too, they are definitely a must for me, so pretty. Can you tell me what Bubbles lipstick is like?

I am absolutely addicted to mac <3. Ahhhh I can’t wait for the sugarsweet collection! I’m really confused on the MSFs howeverr. I don’t know if I should get refined or perfect topping, I’m Asian and I have tan skin with a slight yellow undertone too. But still, I just don’t know which is better on what! I’m guessing refined is more suitable for me? And does lollipop loving look good on everyone?

Hearing that, I think it would look great under Mac Gel possibly or maybe even under Lavender whip to tone it down a bit, Lavender whip showed up just a little too purple on my lips and I’ve been wearing Pretty Please under it. I’ve never seen Bubbles so I could be sooo wrong. Oh, I dont know but I am definitely going to try it out!!

      Hi Melissa,

They wear time is just okay. I haven’t had the best luck with them when I wear them just by themselves. If you do decide to buy be sure to use a base coat and a top coat — I think that will help extend the wear time.

    Hey Karen!

Did you end up buying the Cakeshop shadestick? I bought it and am having trouble finding colours to pair it with! I find that the colour looked a lot better on my hand at the MAC store than it does on my eyelids, it’s so sheer on my lids! I hate returning products so I am trying to give it a chance, but I have run out of ideas!
