The MAC Philip Treacy Collection: Bold Lips, Glittery Eyes and…Hats!

March 26th, 2015 by Karen 19 Comments

Wearing MAC Matte Lipstick in No Faux Pas from the new MAC Philip Treacy collection

12 things to know about the MAC Philip Treacy collection

  1. It’s pronounced “tree-see” (not tree-say), and it’s available now (LE, available starting March 26, 2015).
  2. Blacktrack is a re-promote.
  3. With the High-Light Powders, the silver is an overspray.
  4. Blue Peep Pro Longwear Fluidline is abso-friggin’-lutely beautiful.
  5. Royal Wink Pro Longwear Fluidline isn’t as pigmented as I’d like.
  6. If you get one lipstick from the release, let it be No Faux Pas (it’s one of the more comfy MAC mattes I’ve worn).
  7. The High-Light Powders are probably better for pale princesses than darker divas (they look a little ashy on my NC42 skin).
  8. Genuine Treasure Paint Pot is like a golden glitter top coat for your lids.
  9. False Lashes mascara is also a re-promote, and it’s great at thickening and making your lashes look really dark (but not so good at holding a curl).
  10. This collection is based on hats. 🙂
  11. I’m seriously considering “that hat life” because apparently I don’t do my hair anymore.
  12. I’m not wearing hats in any of these pictures because I gave them all to Goodwill in a cleaning fit/frenzy at the beginning of the year.

London-based Philip Treacy is a big deal maker of hats, and the MAC Philip Treacy collection was inspired by three of his coiffure-covering creations…

    Hi Karen,
I didn’t get anything from this collection although I am still tempted by the Hollywood Cerise lipstick!

As far as hats, I love them and I keep buying them and they usually look good on me but then I am too shy to wear them out so they just sit around unworn…

You should wear them! They keep your head warm during cold weather!

I wear hats, but my head is quite small do I have to adjust them to make them fit.

Ha! I have the opposite problem. My hair takes a good amount of room so sometimes I can’t get hats to fit.

I have my sights set on Blue Peep!

As far as hats go, I wear them but I don’t think I look good in them. I just wear them for practical reasons, not so much for fashion 🙂

I can’t keep up with MAC these days, it seems like they’re coming out with new limited collections every week, I’m gonna go bankrupt :)) I’m skipping this collection but looking forward their summer collection, I’m planning to get the lipsticks from the Giambattista Valli collection.

I grabbed No Faux Pas and Hollywood Cerise. I think Blue Peep will be in my near future.

I don’t wear hats nearly enough. I look really cute in them.

I’m with you! I’m sort of regretting giving away the hats I had in the house. Oh well… I guess that gives me an excuse to find another had to fall in love with.

I hope that you get the chance to try Blue Peep on! It’s one of my new fave things.

      Have a wonderful Friday!

Really a beautiful collection. Everything is wearable – hey, that’s not always the case – and looks very flattering!

Oh yes! I actually think that blue liner really makes the green in my eyes pop.

I really like all three of the of these lippies. As for hats, I look good in fedoras and ranchers to me but everyone tells me I don’t. I like fascinators though!

I have Genuine Treasure from another collection MAC did, but find that it has a lot of fall out :0(

In a couple of hours you have glitter all under your eyes…

    Do you experience the same?

This collection looks so beautiful but it just doesn’t seem to live up to the hype. The highlight powders seem to be a did across the board and I really wanted Royal Wink but your swatch just turned me all the way off lol. I think Hollywood Cerise may be the only thing I grab from this collection. Maybe.

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
