The MAC Cool Heat collection debuts today, and not even 2,500 miles of open ocean can stand in its way. Here’s a quick Hawaii-inspired face of the day with a few of the products. 🙂

On the eyes I used…

  1. Too Faced Shadow Insurance on the entire lid (underneath all of the other products)
  2. MAC Soft Brown Matte in the crease
  3. MAC Climate Blue Eye Shadow on the upper lash line
  4. MAC Warm Chill Eye Shadow on the inner corner of the eye lid
  5. MAC Cool Heat Eye Shadow on the lower lash line
  6. Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Noir Black on the upper lashes

Of the Cool Heat products I’ve used so far, Climate Blue Eyeshadow moves me the most. I love its soft texture and dark blue color.

The rest of the look…

Brows

  • MAC Concrete Eye Shadow

Dark circles (yep, they came with me on vacation!)

  • MAC Select Moisturecover Concealer in NW 25
  • Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder #2

Face

  • Becca Luminous Skin Colour SPF 20 in Nut
  • Becca Stick Foundation SPF 30 in Coffee
  • Stila Bronzing Powder in Shade 02

Cheeks

  • MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Spaced Out (from the Neo Sci Fi Collection)

Lips

  • MAC Cremestick Liner in Pink Treat
  • MAC Slimshine Lipstick in Tropic Glow
  • Chanel Glossimer in Astral

These pictures were taken at Haiku Gardens, just steps away from my in-law’s house. It’s a beautiful garden with a pond (and resident turtles) and a small chapel for weddings. Haleiwa Joe’s Seafood Grill, perched on a hillside overlooking the garden, is packed every night with diners from the area. It’s also one of comedian Adam Sandler’s favorite hangouts when he visits the island.

The entire MAC Cool Heat Collection…

Eye Shadows, $14 each

Solar White (frost) – frosty muted white gold
Warming Trend (veluxe pearl) – frosty light taupe
Warm Chill (frost) – frosty seafoam green with gold pearl
Gulf Stream (frost) – frosty mid-tone blue green with green pearl
Cool Heat (frost) – frosty teal with multi-dimensional pearl
Climate Blue (velvet) – mid-tone violet blue with pink pearl
Blue Flame (veluxe pearl) – dirty metallic navy blue

Slimshine Lipsticks, $14.50 each

Tropic Glow (frost) – blue pink with silver pearl
By Degrees (frost) – neutral brown pink
Gentle Summer (frost) – light clean yellow pink with white pearl
High 90’s (frost) – clean pink orange
Swelter (frost) – sheer clean red

Scents, $22.50 each

Turquatic – notes include cedar, lotus leaves
Turquatic Heat – notes include lotus flower, jasmine, Tahitian tiare flower

If these colors appeal to you, get out there and snag your Cool Heat loot! If you’re a US resident and live near a MAC store, print and bring this coupon with you to the counter to get 15% off your purchase.

I enjoyed snorkeling at Shark’s Cove yesterday and saw lots of amazing fish. I believe I even swam with a few different schools (unless we were all just headed the same way). How academic, LOL! 🙂

    Hi Karen!

I love the look, and that is one of the best frolicking-in-a-garden shots I’ve ever seen! 🙂

Well, dang! Today I went and got Warm Chill, Cool Heat, Warming Trend, Gulf Stream, and Blue Flame along with Swelter, Tropic Glow and By Degrees! My biggest MAC haul ever! But now after seeing your site (and Christine’s) I have to go back for Climate Blue after all! Oh well! At least there’s the discount! 😀

Hi, Karen. I am eyeing Climate Blue and Tropic Glow. Wonder if Climate Blue can work with the Chanel Blue Celeste eye quad that I have. Your makeup and the scenery really compliment each other. Very beautiful.

I’m thinking of picking up a couple of the slimshines on my day off because I just love how moisturizing they are. Eeek, I’m excited.

Hurrah!!! I am so glad you didn’t let that ocean get in the way! Don’t you just adore this collection? I am in major lurve 🙂 Did you pick up solar white too? Out of all of the shadows that might be my fave. I also got tropic glow slimshine and went to Nordies today and picked up Gentle Shimmer slimshine cuz I love the finish on these. Today I rocked solar white, gulf stream, climate blue and blue flame with the tropic glow. Tommorow I am going to give warming trend and cool heat a go!

    Hawaii looks amazing!

Aloha to you in your office in your lovely town (you know I love SD)! BTW, what do you do?

I’m glad that you’re enjoying the pics. Tomorrow I’m off to Maui so they’ll hopefully be more pics (and adventuring) to come. BTW, what do you do?

    Hi Lena,

It’s a purty collection! Do you think you’re going to pick anything up?

Hmm, maybe I look a little different because I’m more tan? It could also be the lighting. The natural light in my in-law’s hood is frickin’ AMAZING for picture taking.:)

    Hi Glosslizard,

Climate Blue is awesome. Seriously. I took one swipe with my brush and was like WOW, viva la color payoff! I usually have a hard time with really bold blues, too, and this one is easily wearable.

And huzzah for your haul! 🙂 I knew you were lookin’ forward to this release. Did you get to play with your colors yet?

    Hi Lindsay,

Thank you! Have you ever been to Haiku Gardens? When you’re on the windward side you should come and feed the turtles; it’s fun (and free). 🙂

    Hi Miss QQ,

Yes, it totally can work with the Blue Celestes quad. I think Climate Blue is a lil’ bit easier to work with than the darkest blue in that quad.

Tropic Glow is soooo beautiful! I hope that you’ll like it.

    Hi Bridget,

Wow, you’re going to be busy this weekend. 🙂 Do you have a big family? Sounds like it!

Happy early birthday… 25 is young, girl! The most wonderful thing about that year (which I didn’t realize at the time) was that it was the last year I had my super kick ass metabolism. Ahhh, to eat with abandon. I miss that.

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy spending time with your family.

hope you’re having a good stay here

Oh! When we went to Shark’s Cove the other day some people were talking about seeing a turtle. I didn’t get to visit with it, though.

I’ve seen a wild turtle only once, while I was surfing in Waikiki.

Speaking of shopping, last night I went to the mall here in Kaneohe to go to the movies and it was PACKED! Everybody was out and about because of Kam day.

You make my day that much brighter…and not just eyeshadow wise.

I’m envious of your photography skills but I shall never have the courage to tinker with anything more advanced than a point and shoot digicam…

The new collection looks lovely and I’m really itching for a first MAC pigmented product (as opposed to powders, concealer, blush, brushes, etc). Perhaps this line will truly tempt me into trying those intense eyeshadows. Any suggestions on a good versatile MAC beginner shadow and lipstick?

Only a little, it’s kinda hard to get so much at once, ’cause I hardly know where to start (I know, cry me a river, right?)! Yesterday I tried out a duo-tone tropical eye with Femme-fi, Cool Heat and Parrot and Stila Prize in the inner corner. I wore Tropic Glow with it. It was very pretty! I think today I might try a neutral look with Femme-fi and Warming Trend so I can wear my Swelter slimshine! It will look beautiful when I go back to the MAC store for Climate Blue! 😉 This may also be the collection that makes me finally cave on the cream color base in Pearl, I swatched Warm Chill alone and over the CCB and wow, what a difference!

Oh, and I must remember to wear waterproof eyeliner and mascara today, ’cause it’s the last day of school and little imp will be in his first end-of-year school performance! Aaw, my little-bitty guy! I’m so proud! 🙂

Can’t wait for today’s installment from blogs from paradise! Have another great day! 😀

Pretty! I like the blues you put very much, definitely going to check Cool Heat out and go online on Monday to order. MAC should do the sales more often, it’s good for the business 🙂

I love the scenery very much, you make me want to drive to the Springs this weekend to frolic a bit, if it doesn’t rain of course.

I’ve been being Sooooo good. Although I did buy new shampoo and conditioner – before I even used up the old stuff. I bought the freeman ones…only they didn’t have the papapya at my local CVS so I got the Sea Kelp and guava Moisturizing ones…which a couple days in…I have to say seem to be doing well…I’ll keep you posted. 🙂

Your pictures are beautiful and capture how beautiful the windward side is! The grass looks lush and vibrant… oh I love it! And isn’t Haleiwa Joe’s yummy? Once I waited 1.5 hours to eat dinner on a Friday Night. Crazy, I know, but I had a friend visiting and she was only there for a few days. lol.
