MAC lovers, mark yo’ calendars! Three brand new MAC collections hit counters on May 1st — Naughty Nauticals, Dazzleglass and Skinsheen Leg Spray.

I like the sound of Naughty Nauticals and love the ocean, so I’m particularly excited about the pink, coral, red and blue colors prominent in the collection.

One of my favorite pictures!

MAC Dazzleglass…

You can already purchase the 16 lipgloss shades that comprise Dazzleglass ($16.50 each), the second MAC collection set to arrive at MAC counters on May 1, on maccosmetics.com. All of the colors in the collection have big glitter shine with large pearl particles. I predict Dazzleglass will make the club girls go crazy!

Dazzleglass Lipglosses…

Comet blue – Violet blue
Funtabulous – Purple with violet pearl
Ms. Fizz – Bright pink with blue pearl
Like Venus – Clean light bubble gum pink with red pearl
Baby Sparks – Pale pink with violet pearl
Money, Honey – Mid-tone rosy mauve with red pearl
Rags to Riches – Plummy pink with real and red pearl
Date Night – Deep plum with blue and gold pearl
Spanking Rich – Raspberry pink with red and gold pearl
Get Rich Quick – Warm yellow brown
Bare Necessity – Caramel apricot with red and gold pearl
Steppin’ Out – Clean yellow pink with red pearl
Glamour O.D. – Bright coral red with red pearl
Sugarrimmed – Milky pale pink with red, teal and white pearl
Pleasure Principle – Clear white violet, teal and white pearl
Love Alert – Raspberry red with red pearl

I’m not too hip on big glitter, but I’m dying to check out “Pleasure Principle” because it’s one of my favorite Janet Jackson songs. With the exception of the chair leap, I could duplicate Janet’s entire routine back in sixth grade. OK, well, not quite duplicate…

It’s the principle of pleasure!

Also set for release May 1 are the Skinsheen Leg Spray products. These mousse coloring agents blend well and apply quickly to add color to legs, arms, shoulders and decolletage. I’m mildly curious about these because, according to MAC, the polymers they used for Skinsheen can last through two washings (cool and ICK!). And, truthfully, what I really want to know is if Skinsheen will help disguise the stretch marks on my bum when I’m wearing a bikini. I hope it does, girlfriend!

Skinsheen Leg Spray ($22.50)

Medium – Sheer, soft golden caramel with soft gold nuances (international only)
Medium Dark – Sheer, soft bronze with golden tan-pearl
Dark – Golden bronze
Deep Dark – Deep, warm bronze with rich golden pearl

MAC suggests using the 179 buffer brush to apply Skinsheen. Save your pennies ’cause the 179 will set you back $52, yowza!

Happy hump day! What kind of day are you having so far?

This morning I got crackin’ on a small freelance writing assignment. It’s on the significance of the Hawaiian hula dance, but before I started my serious work-related research, I did a little self-help “research” into the lovely Christian Bale…

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Wow! That post was a whole lotta eye candy! 😉

I’m looking forward to seeing Naughty Nauticals and the Dazzleglasses, but they’re not hooking me with pictures alone! The dazzle is something I’ll have to check out to see exactly how chunky that glitter is! I’ve been noticing a very odd obsession of mine lately having to do with blue sparkles in lipglosses…

I’ll admit I haven’t bought anything at MAC before… I don’t know if it’s because I’m intimidated by the girls with drag queen makeup at the counter or maybe just the sheer volume of product they carry. Still I am super curious about the stretch mark covering properties of Skinsheen too so please please let us know if it works!
    Thanks <3

I agree with Glosslizard! I really need to see the Dazzleglasses in person before I can say that I’ll love them. I love lipgloss, generally speaking, but I’m not a chunky sparkle kinda chick.

Good thought on the Skinsheen covering stretch marks, Karen. Lord knows I need some help with mine!

Rats! I was hoping the release date would be moved up for NN. I’m leaving for Ethiopia/Israel for a month so I won’t be able to play with it in person. I’m counting on you to tell me all about it!

    Hi Glosslizard,

I know, right? I am liking the pink and coral Lustreglasses, but that’s kind of a given. If that Dazzleglass glitter is too chunky monkey I’m not going to be into it, either!

Oh! What glosses with blue sparkles?! Do tell!

    Hi Shiny,

It will totally depend on if it meshes with my skin (it would look TOTALLY WEIRD if my bum was three shades darker) and how well it lasts. It’s supposed to be a transfer resistant formula, so it’s staying power will also be up for inspection!

You aren’t the only one intimidated by the MAC counter. I have a friend who also fears the same things… I think if you know what to look for then you can find a lot of easy to wear, non-draggy gems! Let me know if you need any suggestions. I am the queen of non-scary MAC colors, LOL.

    Hi Tuprnut,

Girl, you know how I feel about the disco glitter. I am not down unless it’s ‘tasteful’. Gritty is also a no-no (ewww!). My general rule is if it looks like the glitter in children’s makeup then I must stay away!

For some unknown reasons, I don’t feel excited in any of these collections at all. Maybe NeoScifi will cure it? Or maybe I have a MAC-overload after the Fafi/Heatherette combo?

    Hi Dao,

It does seem like MAC rolls out the collections quickly. I am feeling the coral and pink lip products from NN (not really sure about the blues yet).

I am excited about NeoScifi as well. 🙂

Well, first there was the Fafi Strawbaby lipstick with the blue sparkle, then I got drawn in by Sugar Trance (the sparkle is described as “rainbow” but definitely has a bit of blue). There’s also a glossimer from the galaxy collection that John put on me, and it has multi-colored sparkle including… you guessed it! Blue! None of these has overwhelming blueness, but the added hint of blue sparkle seems to brighten things up! I’m kinda hooked!

Thanks for the info. Dazzleglass will launch at the Pro Stores on the 24th and at the regular counters on May 1st. 🙂

I’m so excited! Gotta start saving up for the new collection. I’m definitely eyeing all the eyeshadows and pigments, and several of the lipsticks and lipglosses. I’m trying to cut back my list, but I can’t do it – it’s so hard! =)

    Hey there,

Dazzleglass is launching at my local MAC store today! I was snagging eye shadow last night and the MA was preparing the display, and verified that they would be available today. I got to see them all! Just as a heads up, the glitter is VERY fine and isn’t chunky at all. They’re in huge glass (yes, glass) tubes and are significantly larger than lip glass tubes. I am all over “Steppin’ Out,” which is a true, bright pink with sparkles.

They are also VERY sparkly – but not a shiny, fake sparkle. It’s like a sparkle with some sort of internal glow, if that makes sense. They are all gorgeous, and I’m going to pick one (or two or three) up today after work!

    Hey buddy K!

My week’s been fab so far! I’ve been playing badminton, done some dress shopping with a friend and had the same friend for a sleepover at our place. I even found a graduation dress (you can see it on my blog), which is great because now I don’t have to worry about finding it anymore. 😀 Tomorrow another friend asked me to go dress shopping with her, so I’m keeping myself busy all day long!

What about you? I hope your workload has been bearable this week!

PS. This collection is so pretty! I love the product names and being the navy style lover that I am, this is so me. 🙂

    Hi Glosslizard,

I agree. Blue sparkle and green sparkle can do a lot of good if it’s well executed (aka, NOT CHUNKY, ewwws).

Have you ever tried Myriade glossimer? It looks dark in the tube but applies as lighter pink. I haven’t taken mine out in about a month (awww, she’s lonely) but I think it might have blue sparkle, too. I will check when I get home…

    Hi Aleks,

Sounds like fun! I will have to vicariously live through your badminton playing, LOL!

Oh fantastic dress! Now what about the shoes and accessories? That peachy/pink color would look great with gold jewelry.

In general I’m doing fantastic, thanks for asking! Tomorrow is my day off and I’m going to spend it working on a writing project I just picked up (it’s on Hawaii).

But as of right now I’m REALLY HUNGRY! I did an interview this morning for the blog (it’ll be up in a day or so), and then afterwards talked to a friend of mine on the phone for a while, and then next thing I knew I realized was going to be late for work! It was either 1.) shower or 2.) eat and I couldn’t stand to be stinky any longer, LOL, so I chose the shower and then threw a buncha snacks into a bag and now none of them are appealing to me. So if I start rambling on and on and writing run on sentences it’s because I’m about to gnaw my arm off.

I like navy style, too. The crisp, clean whites… the classic lines! Beautiful!

    Hey Karen!

After seeing them all in person and on display, and swatching them all, I decided on Baby Sparks and Money, Honey. Baby Sparks is sort of a neutrally, sheer peachy pink with blue, purple and gold sparkles. Money, Honey is a plummy mauvey pink with the mauvey, pink and purple sparkles. I was going to get Steppin’ Out, but I already have so many sparkly pink glosses.

My lips are now aglow! 🙂

Both sound *really* pretty, especially Money Honey! I am getting more sparkle friendly these days so when they hit my nearby counter I will take a looksie at these two colors.

Definitely check out the Dazzleglasses. I paraded to the mall and nearly went nuts at the display. I’ve always had bad experiences with tacky texture because it just tears up me pouters, but MAC does have moisturizing down to a T. And it may just be me, but these make my lips look almost Angie-like! WOOT, hah. Gotta be the glass, yo.
