Blues and Greens with MAC Art Supplies and MAC Trip

March 25th, 2010 by Karen 52 Comments

Howzit, holmes? Hasn’t this felt like a long week? I woke up this morning feeling very (see picture above).

Because a little color always helps, I reached for the MAC Trip Cool Eyes Palette and a few things from MAC Art Supplies, as well as Benefit’s permanent collection and a Lancome mascara.

In a little while I was feeling 100% better and kinda like this…

It’s amazing how much a bit of brightness can help! 🙂

Eyes: MAC Greasepaint Stick in Slick Black (lid), MAC Eyeshadow in Waternymph (lid), MAC Eyeshadow in Springtime Skipper (crease), MAC Eyeshadow in Prismique (brow bone), MAC Eyeshadow in Flashtrack (outer lid), MAC Technakohl in Graphblack (waterlines), MAC Pearlglide Liner in Petrol Blue (lashlines), Lancome Hypnose Drama (lashes); Cheeks: Benefit Sugarbomb (apples), Benefit Hoola (contour beneath apples); Lips: MAC Pro Longwear Lipstain in Modern Mocha, Benefit Lipgloss in Fresh Squeezed

Yay, ladies! Friday’s around the corner. 🙂 Do you have any plans this weekend? I’m hoping to go see How to Train Your Dragon and maybe pick up a few pointers for Tabs.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Ooh I love the blues! And you look great! Have I told you that I love your hair? 😀
I’ll be spending this weekend dreading the start of school. Sounds like fun, right? BUT I’m also going to the Container Store and finally buying some things to organize my makeup with, which I’m pretty excited for. I’m *so* tired of having to dig around in a drawer for ages to find one freakin’ eyeshadow :/

I love the shadows, they are really beautiful!!! but what happened to your foundation? your face looks a bit grey and lifeless… and you have a really nice color skin ( so we see in you arms, but the face it’s so different even from other pictures !) Mr. Foundation bring Karen back!!!!

Its actually very common for colored people to have darker arms and legs than face. My face is paler than my arms and legs too. Maybe because my face is the only place I slather on SPF at. So I think her foundation is right. If you wear a foundation shade thats dark, it makes you look very dull. Personally and this is not to belittle your comment at all – I think her face is glowing.

Yes Shivotra, I know what you mean, but there’s lots of pictures of Karen that this doesn’t happened, so i believe that with a foundation with a more yellow undertone would be more flattering, and the glowing it’s perfect yes, i was just referring to the color tone effect.

Maybe its a lighting issue. I think she uses the same Laura Mercier foundation in pics.

I’ll also be spending about 5 hours praying to the weather gods for some warmer weather. This weather is ridiculous! I want my 70 degree weather!!!!! Why is it so cold?! It’s March people! It’s a bone-chilling SEVENTEEN DEGREES, with wind chill. Even Zena won’t go outside. I need heat. I need spring. I need sunshine!!!

You know what’s really ironic though. It may be colder than a witch’s broom but my allergies are in high gear. Nothing better than a sinus headache to start spring off. Darned trees.

Before I actually read what you used, I would have guessed you used the blue Greasepaint in the collection because the blue is so bright! I thought the black base with eat the colour up, but this look proved me wrong.

I’m so excited for this collection, I just can’t wait! I’m going straight to the mall right after work on the 1st. But it’s weird that they release on April fool. Is that a trap?

P.S. I don’t know if I want to recreate the look (’causeI don’t wear too much bright colours), but I definitely want to recreate your pose in the first pic. That’s just pure fun lol.

Im excited for this MAC collection … more so than any other collection released so far, but not as much as the cat collection (if it is for real, that is!).

Looks awesome, Karen! Love those colors on you. I am now really wanting to order that MAC Trip Cool Eyes palette.

Hubby has been travelling a lot and is going out of town next week again. So, he’s taking care of the kids tomorrow and I am going shopping for our upcoming vacation. Unfortunately, one of the things I need to look for is a swimsuit, but I will counter that by shopping for some new sunglasses and makeup!

Hope you have a great weekend!

LOVE IT GIRL – hot! I did an inspired purple eye today inpired by your look yesterday. I busted out some UD’s colors that I have sadly neglected. you may inpsire me to play with some blues I have hidden in the bottom of my makeup case – they are waiting for their destiny to be depotted in another MAC 15 pan palette that I’m planning on buying. Wow, I have so much e/s to last me 2 lifetimes. I just wished I could get the feeling that I do have enough makeup. I guess not in this lifetime.

No plans for me – too broke – maybe rent ‘Whip It’ on demand. I love that movie – I can watch it over and over again. Hopefully next weekend I can catch a matinee of The Runaways. I am hoping Kristen Stewart portrayes Joan Jett respectively!

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
