Would You Ever Let Your Significant Other Paint Your Toenails?

No.

No way.

There is absolutely no way that’s ever gonna happen.

I’ve seen this scene play out in movies before, where the dude paints his lady’s toenails, usually on a messy bed in a sun-dappled bedroom, and I guess it’s supposed to be all romantic and sh*t?

But I don’t see it going down like that with El Hub.

Don’t get me wrong — he’d try his hardest, bless his heart, but then he’d spill the nail polish all over the bed, or he’d turn the whole thing into a joke, and we’d be laughing the entire time, and I’d end up with toenails that look like they were painted by a five-year-old.

In other words, HELL NO.

How about you? Would you ever let your significant other paint your toenails?

I’m so happy you posted where those shoes are from! To die for!

I actually would let my hubby paint my toe nails. He has a very steady hand, has restored classic cars for fun, and would have a better angle to polish than I would. The question is would HE do it??

My husband is better at painting my nails than I am. Seriously. He does the whole manicure/pedicure routine, complete with paraffin wax and massage. It’s a regular routine in our house in date-night in, and I love it! He is very manly and wouldn’t ever do his own (besides, his cop buddies might shoot him if he tried) but he’s wonderful. He can also French braid (I can’t) and shaves my legs when I’m pregnant. I’ve struck a gold mine, I know. 🙂

So Lindsay, do you loan out your husband? I kid, I kid, (and I’m totally jealous 🙂 )

Once, while I was incredibly pregnant and wanting to avoid inhaling the remover, I had my husband help me take off my toenail polish. He was barely tolerant of handling my feet (they aren’t gross, I promise!!) and while I appreciated his help I’d certainly prefer to handle my toes all by myself. I even managed to paint them myself through all three babies even though with each pregnancy it looked like I swallowed a GIANT watermelon. gotta have nice feet while in labour, LOL!

I’m lucky because my BF’s mom used to do nails for a living, and he would watch her do clients all the time so I’ve had him do my right hand before when I was feeling extra uncoordinated, and I think he’s taken off my toenail polish so I could redo them without risking remover getting on my nails. Hell, he’s even waxed me. #NoBoundaries lol!

Yes, of course! I already paint her nails for her too sometimes. Advantages of being in a lady/lady relationship=borrowing each other’s clothes and painting each other’s nails, among other things.

I have and I’d to it again haha! I’m horrible at doing my toes, and Landon is really delicate with it, so he always does a better job than me!

My husband and I were together for 22 years and I don’t think he’s ever polished my nails. I think he said he thought about it, but knew he’s hands would be too clunky to paint my toes. lol. I let my ten year old daughter paint her own and my toe nails but not my finger nails. She is still a little shaky in holding the brush.

I would. I really suck at painting my own toenails, the angle is just weird when you do it to yourself. So he might do a better job than me.
I actually let him paint my fingernails for fun once and he did a very decent job!

My husband is an artist and he could probably do some really creative nail art. However, his eye sight is shot to hell now and he’d have trouble seeing what he was doing.

My husband painted my toenails for me when I was pregnant & could no longer see my feet. I was feeling fat & miserable, and it was the sweetest thing (he gives a killer foot rub too)!

I painted my husband’s toenails one night when he was asleep. Me and my daughter could not stop giggling. I managed to get his fingernails as well. When he woke up he took it like a champ and laughed until we realized we did not have ANY fingernail polish remover in the house. Tee Hee

I let my tattooed, surly guy BFF paint my toenails because he paints his own! Black or blue usually for him. He splurges on the good stuff too, all OPI.

My husband is usually very careful with painting and detailing things…but I’m afraid my feet are too wiggly for him. He painted my nails once when we were dating along with the rest of my toes….:P

I would, and I have. He works with tiny parts, microscopes, and precision work at his job all the time, so he’s good. I pick the color, though. 🙂

I like things to be almost perfect and I know if my husband tries he might learn and all but I don’t have the patience to make him learn. I might as well do it myself quickly and then we might have a romantic date night with movies and stuff! 🙂 😉

years ago, i asked my sweetie to paint my nails. i think he did three before he whined about how horrible nail polish smells. i let him go, not because of the whining, but because it was the worst nail job ever. lumpy, over my cuticles, streaky – all the bad things a manicure can be. married him anyway.

I let my husband do it every so often, because it makes him happy. It looks like a spastic toddler did it with a house paint brush, but he’s always all proud afterward.

Then I take it all off and put it on properly and he never knows the difference.

A huge resounding YES! My wife almost always paints my toes, I even let her pick out the color. She is butch, so she doesn’t paint her own nails, but she always does a meticulous job of mine. She isn’t the first, I would say about half of my girlfriends have actually offered to paint my nails. I think it is just a sweet gesture of bonding. My brother-in-law paints my sister’s nails as well, but he seems to think it is just like painting one of his cars. 🙂

Sure, but not because it’s romantic though, haha 🙂 I mean, if he’s good at it, why not? I doubt my man is though, we haven’t tried it yet, lol.

I think my hub would do a good job because he does have an art degree but I think he would hate it so much that I might have to make him eat a foot. LMAO

He did do a marvelous job on my theatrical makeup for a Halloween party once. 🙂

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
