A Makeup and Beauty Blog giveaway
Win a $50 eGift card from Sephora

Aw, just one more game! This is the one, I can tell! I can feel it in my bones. Come on, Kitty Glitter, come on! Mama needs a new pair of socks!

My favorite casino game is a penny slot machine called Kitty Glitter, and it’s kinda like Connect 4, except with cats, where you try to get 3-4 of the same cat pictures lined up in a row. The rows can go in pretty much every conceivable direction on the screen, even diagonal or zig-zagging.

I’m not a big gambler, but I could play Kitty Glitter for hours…assuming my pennies hold out, LOL!

Love this game!

Tabs will be disappointed to learn that there are no tabbies in Kitty Glitter. What a huge oversight by the developer!

Time for me to go test my luck one last time before we head home. Good luck to you in this weekend’s giveaway, and don’t forget to also enter the Burberry Beauty giveaway still going on now. That’s two ongoing giveaways, and one of them has 15 winners!

See you soon. 🙂

What folks are saying…

“Hi Karen. Oh my goodness! I can’t believe I won! :O Thank you so much! You, Tabs, and your blog are amazing! Thank you for keeping me updated on all things beauty and more importantly, for keeping me entertained! Keep doing your thing! Thank you again.”
-Jacqueline

“Thanks so much, Karen. Just in case you were wondering what I got with it, I decided to go with the Clarisonic Mia–I’ve been wanting it for years now, but have never purchased it because of the price. Your eCard helped me finally buy it! I look forward to using it. Thanks again!”
-Jane

“Shut the front door! OMG Karen, you have made my day. 🙂 I’m sick in bed with the flu and this has just cheered me up immensely!!!!!!!! BTW, I’m the one that sent you that pic of my pug in a wig a few weeks back LOL! Thanks again, honestly, I’m beyond giddy right now.”
-Angel

“Oh my goodness! Thank you so much Karen (and Tabs, of course)! I really appreciate this! I’d been eyeing the Anastasia brow pencil in Strawburn to match my red hair!”
-Chelsea (and Jiji the kitten and Quincy the bunny)

“Never before have I been so pleased to check my email right before bed!!! Thank you so, so much! I truly enjoy your blog and check it almost daily! Thanks again! This made my night!”
-Melissa, Edmond, OK

“Hi Karen. Thank you so much, I’m so excited, I’ve never won anything before. My name is Hana … I just turned 25 (today is my birthday!) Yay! Thank you.”
-Hana

Are there any makeup/beauty products you like so much that you buy backups? — you get the idea.
  • Second, you can enter by following me on twitter Twitter @karenmbb and retweeting (RT) the following message:

Non-sticky lipgloss — just can’t deal with the goopy texture of sticky ones, nor the feeling of hair stuck to lips. Yuck!

I prefer lip glosses that have some slide to them. If it leaves stickiness when I press my lips together, it’s not for me.

I’m a HUGE fan of dry shampoo. My hair gets oily so fast, but I hate washing it everyday – I think it dries out my ends too much. The problem is, I haven’t found a dry shampoo I really like. They all either smell funky or just don’t work as well as plain ol’ cornstarch.

I don’t generally buy backups (unless nabbing my “next” mascara counts, since I go through those pretty fast and would hate to run out), but when Sally Hansen discontinued the HD nail polishes, not only did I buy the rest of the colors I didn’t already own, I got a second bottle of DVD. I’m so happy to have a three-day weekend this weekend. I actually went to Sephora today (I had to take my mom to the mall to do some returns), but while the one foundation I wanted to check out seemed like a good match based on my hand-swatch, the trip was not a success. I uncharacteristically sprayed on a perfume that I’d wanted to try without testing it on the blotter first and I paid for it!

When I put mine on the other day, I realized I liked the color enough to try and find a couple more bottles. Luckily, there was one listing on Ebay for it that was going to expire in 14 hours, so I bought 2 of the last 3 bottles the seller had.

I am not a gambler but I love playing card games. I am not a very good dancer. Um… I think I prefer normal shampoo because I think they actually clean your hair more. Just this summer I went to Taiwan to visit my grandparents. Yes, I love the ocean way more than mountains. I love urban decay eyeshadows, the colors are just pure beauty and they come in a lot of shades.

I hate it when I buy makeup that I like, but the packaging ruins it. Plain old tubes with caps don’t get clogged at the tip like pumps do, and you can control the amount. Sigh.

Dry shampoos are a fail for me so far. I haven’t found one that smells really good (least offensive are Oribe and Not Your Mother’s) and many of them smell just bad (Ojon, Blandi). The worst part is how they are empty after five uses, followed closely by how they make my head itch and how I have to wash my hair within 8 hours of use or it’s a matted greasy mess. Related closely – why do Ojon products smell so bad? Even though they work, I can’t have that stank on my head. The deep conditioner smells like the ashtray of a 1974 Pinto.
If I win the Sephora card, I’m buying that Hourglass brush.

I’ve only gambled once. I won $50 on a game I put five bucks in. I had no idea how to play the game, I was just pushing buttons and I won $50! I did the happy dance, my husband laughed at me, it was funny!

I buy a MegaMillions and a Powerball ticket every week, if that counts as gambling. I’ve never played any card games (don’t know any!) or even the slot machine. I’ve never set foot in a casino before but maybe someday, more so for the shows and cheap eats (I saw a program on PBS about 99 cent half-pound hot dogs in Vegas. LOL) than the games though.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
