Today I Am…

December 7th, 2011 by Karen 44 Comments

today i am

…giving myself a Post-It pep-talk.

Today I am…

…wearing Guerlain Ecrin 4 Couleurs in Les Roses ($59) on my eyes and Rouge G in 72 Rose Innocent ($48) on my lips. Both are from the spring 2012 collection and coming this January to select Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Sephora, Bloomingdales and Bergdorf Goodman stores.

Today I am…

…filling a vase with pink carnations and setting it on my windowsill.

Today I am…

…spritzing citrusy Annick Goutal Eau d’Hadrien ($85) on my wrists and remembering the time I visited an Annick Goutal store in Paris and somehow, miraculously, managed to speak enough high school French to successfully purchase three small bottles of perfume.

Today I am…

…putting a necklace on my cat.

Today I am…

…eating macarons and drinking a soy chai latte.

Today I am…

…smiling, 🙂 and remembering to treat myself kindly, and with respect and love.

I love all the pink. A reminder that another spring will be here at some point.

Missy keeps looking at the necklace pictures and shaking her head. She would NEVER be that patient. Her message to Tabs: “dude, if she even TRIES to get earrings on you, I’m coming down to Novato and we’re staging a mutiny! These assistants need to learn their place and show some respect!”

“Yes” (oui) to all of your benevolent affirmations. Sometimes the self takes a hit and one does not even know it till later!

Annick Goutal Eau d’Hadrien was too floral for me; but I adore L’Heure Exquise.

Love the Guerlain on you. It is the most springlike collection out there, even if it’s December and frigid.

It’s a gorgeous palette, for sure. Guerlain does really nice pinks/purples, plus the packaging feels so elegant.

Such a nice thing to read, Karen! I love the shades of pink in the palette and lipstick…so pretty. I just got a new Megan Miller nail polish in Pink Lily which will go perfectly with them. (You have gotta go to the web site just to look at the bottles the polish is in…gorgeous!) The carnations look almost like old English roses and that pink is so delicate…love ’em! And, last, but not least, Tabs must be the most patient cat on earth. My cats would have that necklace off in a heartbeat.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
