Drugstore lipstick or drugstore mascara?
Drugstore mascara! There have been some been pretty great ones on the market for a while now, right up there with the expensive schtuff.
While I do love a good drugstore lippie, there’s just something extra special about a fancy-lady lipstick. ?
$5 or $35 shampoo?
Eh, I’m down with the $5 shampoo. My hair is finicky, for sure, but the budget stuff generally works just fine for me (most of the time). I’d rather save on shampoo and splurge on other hair products, like conditioner and leave-ins. Now, those are a different story, ha!
Economical or extravagant skincare?
My checkbook says “economical,” but my heart (and my experience lines) scream “extravagant!”
High-end or budget foundation?
I can totally do budget foundation, but I’m more likely to find a good match for my skin tone with higher-end foundation lines… So high-end it is!
Would you rather have a few pieces of Charlotte Tilbury makeup, or a whole sh*t-ton of Milani makeup?
I’d rather have a few pieces of Charlotte Tilbury makeup. That would be cool. I’ll take a blush, bronzer and an eye quad please. Thank you very much!
Save or splurge — nail polish?
I love fancy $30 polish, but as of this very second…let’s go with “save.”
Save or splurge — body wash?
SAVE, no doubt. It just washes down the drain anyway! I’ll take anything by Aveeno.
Fancy body lotion or fancy perfume?
Ya know, even though the chances of me actually finishing a bottle of fancy body lotion are higher (I’ve done it before, and I can do it again!), in this instance I’d go with the fancy perfume, since it should, in theory, last longer.
Would you rather have one hella expensive brush that you absolutely love, or a full set of inexpensive brushes that technically work but are a little scratchy?
The one brush, because I got no time for brushes that bother me in any way, shape or form, hahaha!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Happy Thursday! ?
Kimmwc03 says

$5 or $35 shampoo? $5 unless it’s Kristen Ess
Economical or extravagant skincare? Extravagant. It’s an important investment.

Save or splurge — body wash? Save
Fancy body lotion or fancy perfume? Perfume! I love fragrance.

Tatiana says
Drugstore lipstick or drugstore mascara? Mascara. Never found a drugstore lipstick I like.
$5 or $35 shampoo? $5. Although my drugstore shampoo and conditioner are closer to $9.
Economical or extravagant skincare? Extravagant.

Would you rather have a few pieces of Charlotte Tilbury makeup or a whole sh*t-ton of Milani makeup? Neither brand does it for me.
Save or splurge — nail polish? Save. Most of the polishes I love are from indie makers and they’re relatively affordable. $28 Chanel polish just ends up chipping in 24 hours on my nails.
Save or splurge — body wash? Save
Fancy body lotion or fancy perfume? I rarely use body lotion but I love perfume, so fancy perfume all the way.
Would you rather have one hella expensive brush that you absolutely love, or a full set of inexpensive brushes that technically work but are a little scratchy? Well considering I have an entire collection of fancy brushes from Japan, I’ll say expensive.
Efra says
Drugstore lipstick or drugstore mascara?
Mascara, I still don’t understand why people splurge on mascaras. And an expensive lipstick feels lusher.
$5 or $35 shampoo?
$5, specially since one of my main shampoos is Head & Shoulders because of dermatitis.
Economical or extravagant skincare?
I think the balance is one or two extravagant items (like serums) and everything else economical.
High-end or budget foundation?
High-end, just because getting color matched is an easier process.
Would you rather have a few pieces of Charlotte Tilbury makeup or a whole sh*t-ton of Milani makeup?
Charlotte Tilbury please.
Save or splurge — nail polish?
Save, I never finish them before they go bad.
Save or splurge — body wash?
Save, unless it’s medicated.
Fancy body lotion or fancy perfume?
Right now fancy body lotion as I’m not using perfume.
Would you rather have one hella expensive brush that you absolutely love, or a full set of inexpensive brushes that technically work but are a little scratchy?
The expensive one, life’s too short for scratchy brushes.

$5 or $35 shampoo? My hair cannot tell the difference, so $5 shampoo
Economical or extravagant skincare? drugstore – Cerave and Inkey List all the way
High-end or budget foundation? budget – some of the drugstore foundations are as good or better than the high-end.
Would you rather have a few pieces of Charlotte Tilbury makeup or a whole sh*t-ton of Milani makeup? Love me some Milani
Save or splurge — nail polish? depends on what you consider a splurge – I consider anything $10 or over a splurge, so … splurge (Smith & Cult Bitter Buddha)
Save or splurge — body wash? save
Fancy body lotion or fancy perfume? fancy perfume – if I could afford it!
Would you rather have one hella expensive brush that you absolutely love, or a full set of inexpensive brushes that technically work but are a little scratchy? One great brush
Kim says
Drugstore lipstick or drugstore mascara? Lipstick, since I rarely wear it anyway.
$5 or $35 shampoo? Did you forget about $75? 😉 I’ll go with the $35 since shampoo is one of the only 2 hair products I use these days and it really does make a difference with my hair.
Economical or extravagant skincare? Whatever works! I’ll pay up if it’s effective.
High-end or budget foundation? High end.
Would you rather have a few pieces of Charlotte Tilbury makeup or a whole sh*t-ton of Milani makeup? A few pieces of Charlotte, pls.
Save or splurge — nail polish? Save by not buying any. HAHA! But, seriously, safe.
Save or splurge — body wash? Save. I’m a St. Ives fan but am also happy with Dove bar soap for sensitive skin (on a bath pouf).
Fancy body lotion or fancy perfume? Fancy perfume.
Would you rather have one hella expensive brush that you absolutely love, or a full set of inexpensive brushes that technically work but are a little scratchy? As with everything, I’d rather have one of the best quality item I can afford than many of cheaper quality. 🙂 I tend to keep things forever, which is probably why almost all my possessions are non-trendy (and black – HAHA!)
Danielle says
Drugstore lipstick or drugstore mascara? Drugstore Mascara- they have some really nice ones now.
$5 or $35 shampoo? $35 My hair does better with more expensive shampoos.

Would you rather have one hella expensive brush that you absolutely love, or a full set of inexpensive brushes that technically work but are a little scratchy? I have a mix of both, though I probably have more affordable products than really nice ones. (I’m afraid that I’ll damage them. My brush cleaner is very strong, so I’m always nervous about messing up my brushes.) I have $1 concealer brushes from ELF that I love all the way to expensive brushes from Japan.

Stephanie Smith says
Drugstore lipstick or drugstore mascara? Drugstore, they’ve come a long way.
$5 or $35 shampoo? Five bucks. I saw a TikTok that said shampoo is all the same. Conditioner is where you spend your money.
Economical or extravagant skincare? Economical, I don’t use too much, my skin gets fussy if I add too many products. I like things that are gentle and have been around a long time so they’re proven.
High-end or budget foundation? Budget. I don’t wear it enough to justify the expense.
Would you rather have a few pieces of Charlotte Tilbury makeup or a whole sh*t-ton of Milani makeup? CT, a lipstick and a eye shadow quad.

Nikki Wogoman says
Drugstore lipstick or drugstore mascara? I prefer colored mascaras and the drugstore brands tend to make them limited edition, so I’ll go with drugstore lipstick.
$5 or $35 shampoo? My hair does best when I rotate shampoos, so I’ll take one of each!
Economical or extravagant skincare? Economical-I prefer to spend my money on makeup, which has a lot more variety. I use 2 L’Oreal serums and everything else is Neutrogena.
High-end or budget foundation? I guess high-end, because my best shade matches are in Fenty and Urban Decay.
Would you rather have a few pieces of Charlotte Tilbury makeup or a whole sh*t-ton of Milani makeup? A few pieces of Charlotte Tilbury, which I technically already have! I have 7 Hot Lips and Hot Lips 2 lipsticks.
Save or splurge — nail polish? Save-I hardly ever wear nail polish, so there’s no point in getting the expensive stuff!
Save or splurge — body wash? I’ll buy body wash at any price point if I like the scent well enough!
Fancy body lotion or fancy perfume? Fancy perfume, any day-although I do love the drugstore holiday gift sets with perfume/lotion pairs!
Would you rather have one hella expensive brush that you absolutely love, or a full set of inexpensive brushes that technically work but are a little scratchy? I don’t really have much trouble with brushes from any price point, but I guess one hella expensive brush-I hate scratchy.
Nikki Wogoman says
Correction; my CT Hot Lips/Hot Lips 2 collection size is actually 9 lipsticks rather than 7.
Carina says
Drugstore lipstick or drugstore mascara? mascara – I do not understand why I should splurge on anything I have to throw away after 3-6 months… Although I enjoyed the lancome hypnose mini I got as a sample very much 😉
$5 or $35 shampoo? 5 bucks, for the same reason: it has to clean my scalp and hair and I do not want to splurge on anything I wash off and it basically goes down the drain.
Economical or extravagant skincare? Usually economical, but sometimes I like to splurge if a product has a wonderful consistency or special ingredients etc
High-end or budget foundation? I am very fair with neutral undertones and luckily my perfect foundation with a very good blendability and skin-like finish only costs 5 bucks 😉
Would you rather have a few pieces of Charlotte Tilbury makeup or a whole sh*t-ton of Milani makeup? Generally I‘d like to have a few curated pieces, regardless of which brand, but I would happily accept Charlotte Tilbury if it would fit my needs – I never tried anything from her…
Save or splurge — nail polish? The best nailpolish I ever tried is from catrice (it is a gel formula) and my only chanel nailpolish chipped after only two days and was hard to apply evenly… so once again: save, but I would splurge if I had to get the best formula…
Save or splurge — body wash? Usually save with an occasional splurge… because I wash it off… and the occasional splurge is just for a cheap way to feel fancy 😉
Fancy body lotion or fancy perfume? Perfume! I looove to smell good.
Would you rather have one hella expensive brush that you absolutely love, or a full set of inexpensive brushes that technically work but are a little scratchy? I‘d rather have one expensive brush, because I hate scratchy brushes…
Jill says
Drugstore lipstick or drugstore mascara?
Mascara, for sure. Too many drugstore lipsticks smell weird to me.
$5 or $35 shampoo?
I’m good with the $5 – especially since I know I’ll need the difference for the next few Qs… ?
Economical or extravagant skincare?
Extravagant. I have too many allergies to mess around. I need the good stuff.
High-end or budget foundation?
Once again – high(er) end. It’s gotta be clean, no chemical sunscreen, and not break me out. A foundation unicorn, if you will…
Would you rather have a few pieces of Charlotte Tilbury makeup or a whole sh*t-ton of Milani makeup?
Oooooh. CT. Cream shadow, lipstick, and a blush. ?
Save or splurge — nail polish?
Save. I change it too often.
Save or splurge — body wash?
Ummmm. Does it count as a “save” if I get the B3G2 from BBW? Tell me that’s not cheating.
Fancy body lotion or fancy perfume?
Perfume. I’ll wear it more often and maybe it will last longer?
Would you rather have one hella expensive brush that you absolutely love, or a full set of inexpensive brushes that technically work but are a little scratchy?
I want the one brush to rule them all. ?
Thanks! This was fun.
