We put up our Christmas tree today, and every time I string the lights around the tree, I always have to tell the story of how, one year, Tabs tipped the Christmas tree over, and he did it with ninja-like silence, because I was actually in the same room with my back turned to him and didn’t even realize it happened.
One minute I looked over my shoulder, and there he was — bam! — with the Christmas tree tipped over.
He fancied himself as the king of Christmas, and he especially loved a festive, sparkly collar.
Every year, he would gather presents for kittens in need for his foundation, and through his foundation he would donate much-needed Christmas cans of tuna to kittens all over Marin County.
Rosie Girl Christmas
I felt a little nostalgic when I took out his favorite Christmas collar… I asked Rosie if she wanted to try it on, and being the easy-going gal that she is, she said, “Meow-wow [sure, why not?].”
I think the antlers that were originally attached to this collar were auctioned off for charity, which is why Rosie doesn’t have them on.
I think she could feel the spirit of Tabs when she walked around “her property” this morning, because I caught her striking a pose or two when I least expected it.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Rosie looks really orange in the sun! You can tell she really enjoys it outside, Tabs would be proud and happy someone is guarding his old turf!

So cute. It looks like Rosie is posing for the camera!

That’s not an easy collar to pull off so kudos to Rosie for wearing it well as a tribute to Tabs. <3 Love the pics of her with her favorite human! 🙂

Rosie is a natural in front of the camera. Tabs would be so proud. I must say, I always love the pictures of your complex, too. I love that style of architecture, and it is so cool that it looks like individual homes. I wish we could find a condo complex like that here in Georgia. Condos here are either rows of townhomes, or they look like apartment complexes, and are not homey and welcoming like yours is. You did a great landscaping job, too. Everything looks so peaceful!

Don’t comment often, but as a fellow cat lover, I thought you would be touched by this story about an adopted stray cat’s love for her owners. https://greece.greekreporter.com/2020/12/07/greek-cat-makes-new-home-on-the-grave-of-his-former-owners/

Rosie looks like she is really enjoying wearing the collar and taking the significance of it very seriously, as is only right.
Will she be carrying on Tabs’ charity gift giving?
We’re staggering our Christmas gifts this year so that Ragnar doesn’t get completely over -excited. Tonight is the turn of a catnip-filled chew toy in the shape of a well known businessman and politician with yellow hair and an orange complexion…
Karen says
I hope she will. Slowly but surely she’s coming out of her shell!

They both look stunning in the collar. Clearly, Rosie is ready to be a fashionista!
