I did not want to get out of bed this morning! It was cold!
Well…cold for us. It was about 50 outside this morning, but Rosie still wanted to go for her walk, just like Tabs would have. He was like the Post Office when it came to the weather. Neither rain nor sleet nor snow could stop him from going on Sunday patrol. Yup, he took cat corporate security of Tabs the Cat Industries, LLC very seriously.
The chill is here! Fall has officially arrived, which also means falling leaves to chase and windy weather fun. Some of Tabs’ favorite days were windy days in fall.
It fired up his cat senses and boosted his energy to almost kitten levels.
On windy days like today, Tabs was like his best cat self. He climbed trees, chased birds and regularly struck award-winning poses.
And now I also know that Rosie loves fall as much as Tabs did.
Rosie
It totally caught me off guard, but she leapt almost 10 feet up the trunk of a big oak tree today…while on her leash! She jumped up, stretched her claws and hopped down, then hopped through a big pile of leaves, then darted around behind me and tied my legs up in the leash. She was fired up!
I think it was a combination of the breeze, which was causing leaves to swirl and generating lots of movement, and the crisp air, but it really got her excited. It was fun to see her have so much fun.
It made her a handful though. I had to watch her like a hawk. She was so excited that I couldn’t take my eyes off her. In fact, I needed one of the company interns to help…

Your little one is just adorable. And the Sunday posts show that there’s still room for new kitty love while never forgetting a star like Tabs. In a future post, could you let us know how you trained Rosie and Tabs to a leash? My departed Static wouldn’t even wear a collar!

Rosie is an athlete! My friend has a cat named Golly who likes to climb trees. Golly has lots of extra toes, I wonder if that helps.
It was really warm in Michigan the past few days! More than 70 degrees in November – I wore a tank top to walk Hettie! She made some dog friends while we were out yesterday- a big old English Sheepdog came up to say hi, along with his 17 year old dog sibling Joy.

We’ve had a week of unseasonably warm weather here. High 60s to low 70s so it’s been the opposite of you guys. 🙂 I love how Connor is dressed for the cool temps in her (very cozy looking) adorable jacket and boots! And I believe pets can sniff and track better in cooler weather so that’s probably why they get so pumped up in the fall.

I’m with the animals! I love the fall, too! After those unending days of scorching heat and forest fire smoke this summer, fall is more than welcome around here. My dogs love it, too, and would be outside 24×7 if I would let them. Around here we don’t get true fall weather, tho. It will go from 70 one day to 20 and snow the next, then 50 a day later. There is no way to acclimate to that, so the chilly days feel especially cold to me. But still welcome for cooler air and the smoke is finally gone, although the fires are still burning (they started in AUGUST)

And Connor! She’s starting to look so grown up! I love the stars on her boots! They look warm and cozy and pretty!
