As I sit here typing this on my laptop in my dining room, I still have sand between my toes, salt water in my fur…
Actually, in my hair, but the word, “fur,” slipped out because throughout our entire trip down to San Simeon and Hearst Castle this weekend (I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow), I kept thinking about how much Tabs loved beaches.
Some of his most historically successful, legendary kitty modeling photo shoots occurred ocean side. Waikiki on Oahu in Hawaii, and the Central California Coast, were among his favorite beach locales, and not just for kitty modeling work. He also loved them for relaxation and fun.
Traveling with him as his professional pet assistant on these jaunts was always a little stressful for me, though, because, as you can imagine, Tabs had to have the best of everything — the softest Cal king bed, the most epic ocean view, 24-hour on-site masseuses, the freshest fish. Those trips were never really vacations for me, but it made me happy to keep the boss satisfied.
This one time he had me shut down the entire Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk just so he could go on every ride without having to wait in line. That took a lot of finagling on my part, but the best part about it was that Tabs actually let me ride with him. I’ll never forget us walking up and down the boardwalk eating cotton candy and riding that rickety roller coaster together.
Good times…
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Tabs sure knew how to live his best life!

In a next life, I want to be like him with a 24- hour-on-site masseuses. I will let him have the fish. Have a nice week wherever you are beauty. And a serene week to your assistant.

Speaking of cats, I saw a book for you on the interwebz. Crafting for cat ladies, I saw a cool wreath that was made from the book. Thought you might enjoy a perusal.

Hehe. I like the last picture. I can imagine Tabs surfing!

Tabs had some stellar beach campaigns! I’m glad he rewarded your hard work with some ride time. Tabs knew how to keep the help happy. 😉

Santa Cruz? I remember that beach as being clothing optional when I was there; of course Tabs looks superb without clothing! Only us pasty-skinned creatures need the help of remedial adornment to look our best. The luxuriant feel of fur is best suited to mostly innocent, purring critters, especially when we are able to bury our face in it . . . I’ll never forget that about my feline loves.
Make your best day,
L

P.S.
“Tabs: the Blue Book”? you’re halfway there . . .

It’s summer here in the UK, which means the central heating is on and it’s pouring with rain outside.
Your beach photos with Tabs have reminded me that America is another world, let alone another country!

Hi Sarah,
Your summers sound like summer where I live in SF (by the beach in the Outer Sunset neighborhood). It would be hot everywhere else in the Bay Area but foggy and cold and damp and dark where I lived. I didn’t last for long there, LOL! I love the sun.
How’s your week going? Are the kitties doing OK?

Sweet memories <3

I know. I miss him extra today (the baby is at preschool and so I’m home by myself).

He is always with you. I’m so happy that you’ve kept “Sunday with Tabs…” ❤️
