Sundays with Tabs the Cat, Makeup and Beauty Blog Mascot, Nov. 9

November 9th, 2008 by Karen 16 Comments

I can’t believe what a sunny day it is in Marin today. It poured down rain last week, leading me to believe we were in for a long, gray winter, but lo and behold the sun’s back, I guess for one last encore, huzzah!

No big plans for us. I’ve got my sights set on an Orange Dream Machine from Jamba Juice this afternoon, but that’s about the extent of my exciting plans for the day. Look out, world! It’s Mrs. Excitement!

What do you have going on today? Got any good movie recommendations for me?

Speaking of drama, some of Tabs’ relatives are missing in Honolulu! They were last seen milling about the International Market Place in Waikiki. Can you help us find them all (click here for a larger version)?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Nice one! I found all 10 of ’em! The one on the t-shirt is a nice touch 😉 So T-boy finally came back after that night of opera singing in the early AM? Have a nice Sunday Karen and Tabs!

    Hi, there Sweetie,
You just have to rub it in about your wonderful weather; while here it is gray, gloomy, chilly, and damp!!! But nice for snuggling and a little glass of wine. Your little tabs is just too cute for words. However, I do not like relatives, especially my own. hahahaha So I will not be looking to see anyone else’s.
What will I do today? Hm-m-m I have not posted anything here for a while because I took a little holiday part-time job at ——Sephora!!!!
It is only two blocks away from my house. But, girl, they work you hard there so I am pooped and this is my first day off in three days. There are some items that I see each day and I say to myself, “Karen, would like that.” Even though I have only been there for about 5 or 6 weeks, I only bought one thing so far. I will now tell you about it and tell you to scope it out and jump on it. It is from the Vincent Longo line. It is a blush/highlighter that is simply beautiful. I do not think that many people know about it. I know about it because when we aren’t helping clients, I am polishing perfume bottles and cleaning up makeup containers. It comes in four shades-gold (which would be gorgeous on you.), rosewood ( a pink-bronze), aqua lily (a purplish-berry shade-I bought this one.), and a bronze (brownish-bronze). These are his water based products and they feel so cooling and refreshing on the skin. The gold would be nice for the holidays.
Here is another product for you to check out. Fekkai has three shades of a “spray-crystal” product for your hair. It comes in champagne, bronze, and copper. Besides spraying it on your hair, you can also spray it on your body. It gives a very subtle effect and does not make your hair sticky. In fact, you do not even have to wash your hair to get the product out. Just vigorously brushing will remove the “diamond dust”. So, my dear, I must get my chores done today because as has been said about tomorrow, “I owe. I owe, it’s off to work I must go.” Have a wonderful day and soak up some sunshine for me. Louise

Movie recommendation as in current movies or older movies? Because one of my all-time favourite is Requiem for a Dream (but even more are Lord of the Rings). In any case, I cut my finger big-time this morning cutting up left over pizza. My knife went through the box and my finger happened to be below. Great.

I’ve only just noticed – Tabs has an orange nose. I only like cats with orange noses, don’t ask me why.

I have a movie recommendation for you, this past week I saw No Reservations with Catherine Zeta Jones and the rather lovely Aaron Eckhart. Its not a movie you need your brain for, but then thats perfect for a Sunday afternoon.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Yay, I found them all. I’m glad your weather is good, it’s horrible here in Scotland and I have a cold. 🙁

Fun stuff. This week I have the lergey bug. I don’t know what it is but it’s really taking over my throat and nose. I haven’t even had the desire to put make up on!! *shock horror*

I was at work yesterday and one of my customers interuptted my darth vedor way of explaining what the benefits of using studio fix fluid were and she said “I’m sorry to interupt, but I’m a pharmacist and if you just get some Simplis Lectus for £1.50, it will clear that cough up in no time” at which point I gave her many thanks lol.

Oh *big sigh* to breath through my nose again! At least I’ve got these little blogs to read. They are making my day 🙂

    Hi Louise Gray,

How fantastic! Your new job sounds like it’s perfect for you. 🙂 I hopefully will be able to spend some quality time at Sephora very soon (crosses fingers), so I’ll add those items to my “check it out” list. Funny coincidence: the other day I used a Vincent Longo concealer/highlighter that I hadn’t touched in a while.

Are you enjoying the slew of new holiday fragrances? What is your fave?

    Hi Beth,

Ahh! I saw the original German version of that movie a few years ago. I haven’t seen the remake yet with CZJ, so maybe I’ll rent that when El Hub is gone this week.

Thanks for the rec… have a good week!

    Hi Tabby,

LOL, you know, I love those moments of tough love. That cough syrup sounds kinda miraculous!

Take care of yourself and get better soon!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
