Hiya, friend! Good morning to you! In random-but-pertinent-to-this-blog news…everyone at our house is currently obsessed with mandarin oranges, but only the kind with the leaves attached.
Yes, this is truly breaking news.
I don’t know why, but I think the ones with the leaves attached to them are juicier and sweeter than the ones without. I can’t get enough of ’em! Today I have grand plans to sit around, snack on mandarins, read books and drink tea. I like to call this “high-intensity relaxation.”

Today’s vibe
A beautiful cover of one of my favorite songs
I love everything about this house, especially the floors!
It’s going to be 70-something degrees today, and I’m so excited about it! I can’t even! It’s shaping up to be the warmest weekend of the year so far. I’m thinking either a picnic, a hike, Marin French Cheese, or maybe Bon Tempe Lake.
What are you up to? Is the weather nice there? I hope it’s nice enough to go outside for a bit!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

It’s cooler than it has been here, about 50 degrees, but still very nice for March in Michigan. I plan to take Hettie to the park later.
I think I’ll pass on buying George Washington’s hair ?
Karen says
Wait, so you don’t want a lock that belonged to the founding father, WHAT?! LOL!
Please give sweet Hettie a big hug from us! I hope you find some four-leaf clovers today, too.
Chelsea says
Hettie wags to both you and Rosie. No four leaf clovers today but they’re finally growing! We ran into a friend who I text a lot but haven’t seen in real life since before the pandemic, so that was nice.

I love that house in the Hollywood hills. I wonder if it was staged or if all that art belongs to the old owner. I’d want enclosed upper cabinets in the kitchen though. I don’t like open shelves.
I recently tossed a fuchsia Tom Ford Lips & Boys lipstick because it had gone off. Need to find a replacement!
I love that square bob, too. It’s similar to the haircut I recently got from my stylist.
Hope you’re enjoying the warm weather.
BTW, wearing Chanel Riviera today. I wish it didn’t fade so quickly for me.

I have mixed feelings about open shelves! I like them in theory, especially if the objects are neatly stacked and there’s lots of negative space. The part of me that’s lived in earthquake country for a really long time knows, though, that open shelves are a disaster waiting to happen!
We just got back from a long afternoon at Marin French Cheese, so fun!
Did you manage to get outside today?
Tatiana says
Neatly stacked. Lol. That just doesn’t happen in my kitchen. And yes, I keep thinking about earthquakes, too!
Other things I loved about that house… the 6+ burner range in the kitchen, the built-in book cases around the windows, the sturdy front door, the covered patio in back and the lush landscaping.
Went for a walk with Dear Husband this afternoon. I needed to pay my trainer and she needed to get out of her house because she’s moving out tomorrow and she stressed, so we met on the street.
Tatiana says
One of these days I hope to make it up to Marin French Cheese. I’ll feel better about doing things out of the house once I get my vaccine. At least I hope I will.

Obsessed with the tea video!!! What a cool guy. I need all his videos asap. Can’t wait to go down that YT rabbit hole! ❤️

Today (Sunday 3/28) the weather is really nice – low to mid 70s, humidity not too high. Only problem is the wind – it gusts up to 20 MPH frequently. Also, the pollen and fungus counts are really high, and will probably remain so for at least another month. I dread the fact that hot weather is only about 5 weeks away where I live. I have learned to hate May through mid-October because of the weather conditions in Texas.

You know how I love fuchsia! I’m glad to see it’ll be having time on the spotlight. Pity that masks will keep me from wearing my fuchsia lipsticks.

I smiled when I saw your picture of the tangerines. As long as I can remember, Thanksgiving and Christmas always feature big bowls of tangerines with their beautiful green foliage placed in table tops. They were and are an integral part of holiday decorations (and delicious, too). Judging from the bounty of tangerines on their stems that are featured in the markets during the holidays, I’m obviously not the only one who feels that way. My beautiful daughter-in-law also showcases them during Lunar New Year.
I don’t like open cupboards. I hate visual clutter and that’s exactly what stacks of dishes look like to me. A friend of mine tried that look for awhile but eventually had solid cabinet doors put on cabinets because she felt like her kitchen always looked a mess. Different strokes for different folks—whatever makes someone happy. ?
