Good morning, sweet girl. This pink pouch looks exactly how I feel when I wake up in the morning and my stomach is rumbling. 👹
And this black one is making a face similar to mine when I’m walking into a store and hold the door open for the person behind me and they don’t say thank you or even make eye contact. 😒
Ha ha ha! I saw these at Target in the school supplies section. They’d be cute makeup bags, don’t you think?
On to this weekend’s reading…
- Many devoted “dance dads” across the country support their kids by sewing costumes, building stage props, and yes, doing hair and makeup.
- Every year, 120 billion cosmetics product packages are produced, mostly for one-time use, which results in massive amounts of waste. Because of this, many beauty brands are incorporating refillable containers into their product lines.
- Makeup legend Laura Mercier once had a nervous breakdown on a video shoot for Mariah Carey.
- Who else is watching HBO’s Big Little Lies? I’m a BIG Reese fan, so you know I’m totally there. Anyway, Michelle Radow, head of the makeup department for the second season, talks about the makeup she uses on the show and each character’s “aesthetic evolution.”
- Speaking of the small screen, if you haven’t started watching The Bold Type (it’s about three NYC twenty-something friends who work for the same fashion mag), you’ve gotta get on it, stat. It’s so refreshing to see characters who lift one another up. The makeup is also gorgeous.
- Can you use your mind to heal your skin issues?
- If you’ve ever wondered why your cat hates belly rubs and drinks from the faucet…
- Here’s what I’ve been waiting for all my life: a list of the best kitchen items for cat ladies who love cooking!
- Nail tips from Morgan Dixon, chief manicurist for the show, Claws (which I’m obsessed with, BTW). She shares her inspirations for the best dressed hands on TV. Even if you aren’t really into elaborate talons, you’ll want to check out this piece if for no other reason than the closeups, because these nails are works of art.
Chill, babe.
You have a great Saturday, OK? I’ll talk to you soon.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
I’m always amazed by MUA’s success stories. It is so much work and effort. I have so much respect for that trade. These days, social media makes it seem easy (and maybe it is easier to a point), but just like everything, success is not built overnight, but rather, after a lot of hours and painstaking effort put into it. Kudos to these folks! There’s no way I’d have that kind of drive LOL.
I’m curious why you don’t have your links set to open to a new window? I forget and then have to remember to click the back button, which I also usually forget LOL.
Oh and I love the pouches haha. Yes, need, now.
On the way out the door to celebrate Father’s Day and Dear Husband’s birthday. Going sake tasting. Just wanted to say I hope Connor’s dad has a wonderful Father’s Day.
BTW, I totally love those 3 ring zip cases. Need to scope out the local Target before they’re all gone.
The pouches 😹
I never did dance but my dad did sewing repairs and was always the one to cut and file my nails when I was little.
I loved the Laura Mercier article! 27 hours? 🙀 No thanks, I’d break down too!
I just came from hanging out with Paul the cat (she says hi!) who does not mind belly rubs on her soft pink tum tum. Mina LOVED them. She was always in the upstairs hallway on her back just rolling around and when I passed by I’d give her a belly rub. I’d give anything for just one more 😿 My brother’s cat bites if you touch his tum tum.
Karen, just wanted to let you know that my favorite YoutTuber Emilynoel gave my favorite beauty blogger (you) and the Connor Claire store a shout out in her recent video “Favorites Dethroned.” She’s also a cat lady. I gave a whoop of appreciation!
This weekend was my younger daughter’s first bday, so it was a busy but fun Saturday of corralling kids and celebration. Happy Father’s Day to your husband!
Thanks, Karen for the laugh this morning! I am going to have to go to Target and pickup one of those pink pouches!
Love the black bag – and the sentiment. It’s so easy to say thank you. What are we coming to? Sigh. Sorry. I’d absolutely thank you for holding the door.
