  1. Mood:
  2. Relieved! For once, I’m glad it’s a Monday because it should be a slow week at work.

  3. First song I heard today:
  4. Valerie, by the hot mess known as Amy Winehouse (still lovin’ you, girl… just please go to rehab already!).

  5. Outfit:
  6. Running pants, t-shirt and cold-weather running jacket from Lululemon Athletica. Hopefully the rain clears up enough for me to actually do some running in this ensemble. 🙂

  7. Hair:
  8. Messy ponytail.

  9. Lovin’:
  10. Sleep, modern dental technology and plumbing (seriously, no thank you to outhouses), English muffins with a dash of butter and lots of raspberry jam, file cabinets, NonStopPlay.com, Shu Uemura lash curlers and the Orange Dream Machine from Jamba Juice.

  11. Cheeks:
  12. Prescriptives Winter Reflections All-Over Highlighter.

  13. Lip liner:
  14. Chanel Pretty Pink.

  15. What I’m looking forward to today:
  16. Breakfast (I always wake up *starving*), going for a run, rearranging my workspace, watching Heidi get canned in tonight’s episode of The Hills.

  17. Foundation:
  18. Nothing yet, but later today perhaps Laura Mercier Oil-Free Foundation.

  19. Goals for the week:
  20. To call my parents, to find a strapless bra to wear with my bridesmaids dress, to obliterate the piles of paper on my desk and to stay positive no matter what.

Happy Monday, homie! Let me know you’ve got going on this week. Just copy the empty list, and paste it with your answers in the comments. 🙂

    Mood: Relatively calm

First song I heard today: Don’t remember, I usually listen to classical music and news in the morning. And I’m too sleepy to take notice of either… 🙂

Hair: It’s messy ponytail for me too.

And when I tried them on with the dress on they fitted in quite nicely. (2″ heel, round toe, silver satin with ivory rim)

    Cheeks: L’Oreal Rosewood – as always…

Lip liner: I very rarely wear lip liner. Only lip balm today!

Foundation: Silk Naturals mineral foundation medium coverage

Goals for the week: Probably all wedding related – but I’m done thinking about it for today!

    Hi Karen,
I am loving Double Wear foundation at the moment but its not really what I would like to wear, I am having trouble with my skin at the moment, it has become super oily and I am having constant break outs so double wear is perfect for me at the moment as it is a full coverage so its hiding all my redness and spots well and is really keeping the oil down throughout the day! I woul reconmend it for anybody who really wants a heavy coverage and something that really absorbs oil and lasts all day but I much prefer lighter textures with a bit more satin finish like teint innocence!

    Hi Tania,

Eeeek! I saw that last night, too! What I couldn’t believe was how she totally gave her boss attitude when he confronted her about it at the event. Honestly, her singing career better take off (have you seen her video where she’s dressed up in a 80s leotard?) because nobody’s going to hire her.

    Hi Lydia,

I am looking forward to work today, too… I don’t think that’s sick at all! I think it’s healthy to enjoy what you do and to look forward to it.

    Have a good week!

    Hi Holly,

Hmmm… I sounds like it would be *great* for photography. Is it very matte?

    Hi Ditte,

I saw that movie a few years ago — it’s good. It does not hurt that Gael García Bernal is easy on the eyes. 🙂

    Hi Lexi,

Aww… I can’t believe the day has arrived. 🙁 I remember you talking about it in October and it seems to have come so quickly.

Hope your first day back goes smoothly. 🙂

    Hi Karen,
Yes it is a totally matte finish so I keep it well way from my eye area but i tend to use MAC creme blush on my cheeks or a shimmery powder of some sort so it doesnt look too flat!
It does look great on photos, it would be perfect for a bride because it doesnt move all day!
I love how it doesnt transfer onto my clothes too!
Im actually getting the HUGE Estee Lauder Christmas packs tomorrow – its meant to be an offer which you are allowed to buy for £40 when you buy Lauder fragrance but my friend on the counter is allowing me to buy one without buying the fragrance so i will get it all for about £30 with my discount 🙂 It is amazing it has a huge shadow pallette, a blush palette, brushes, lipsticks and lots of other things! Im sooo excited to get my hands on it 😀

    Hi Holly,

Hmm, I’ll have to look that up when I hit up the counters. Florida is very humid so I’ll need something that photographs well and doesn’t move.

OoOOO, that EL pack sounds AMAZING! Do you love it?

    Hi Karen,
The Estee Lauder pack is amazing value for money for sure and would be a great start up pack for somebody just getting into makeup but for me the quality of the products is really hit and miss.

I really like the eye shadows they are all pretty comparable to MAC, well pigmented, easy to blend and apply and the colour range is great, I love one of the lipsticks, the colour is called Pink Champagne and is a perfect semi cool toned pink which works great with my colouring and the 2 lip glosses are beautiful but other than that the other products aren’t great.

The 2 blushers and the bronzer hardly register on my skin and this really isn’t a problem i have ever had before, im a pretty run of the mill light tanned blonde so dont ever really have problems with pigmentation but these just dont work for me!

I HATE the eye makeup remover it would take me lots of rubbing to make it work which i am so not prepared to do on my eyes, the brushes are shockingly poor quality and the eye kohl is the hardest I have ever tried!

I realy think if you didnt have that much experience with high quality makeup and just wanted a cheap start out pack it would be a good buy but for me not so much!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
