If You Could Only Wear One Eyeshadow for the Next Month, Which One Would It Be?

October 13th, 2011 by Karen 99 Comments

Hmm… Well, lately I’ve been enamored with MAC Sumptuous Olive, so that’s my pick! It’s a khaki with golden shimmer, and I really like what it does for brown eyes. I also really love that I don’t have to use very much of it, and the little bit I do use requires hardly any blending at all (can I get some lazy girl love? LOL!). Plus, I think it goes great with the darker lipsticks that we see a lot in fall.

If you could only wear one eyeshadow for the next month, which one would you choose and why?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Oooh, I’ve been thinking about getting this shade for awhile. 🙂 I’ll have to test it out next time I hit the MAC counter. I’m pretty fair so some green shadows make me look sick. :-/

Urban Decay Sin; because it’s a great everyday neutral and has plenty of shine to work for night as well.

I’d definitely have to go with MAC all that glitters 🙂 I’m fairly pale with blue eyes and all that glitters is the perfect subtle gold that helps my eyes really stand out. Pretty sure I have gone an entire month wearing it every day haha!

I’ve actually been wearing the same eyeshadow color (for day-to-day makeup) for about 4 1/2 years! I wear bareMinerals Eyecolor in Cupcake. It’s a very pretty, sheer, light champagne pink with a little bit of glow to it. I love it 🙂

I would pick the taupe side of the Nars Grand Palais duo from the Fall collection. At some point in the month I would probably give in and use the mauve side to define my crease though, hahaha. Although the mauve side doesn’t work for a lot of it looks strangely natural on my NC30/ Chanel B40 skin and turns out to be the most natural shadow for enlarging my small Asian eyes. Gawd, I loooooovveeee the duo so much, haha.

I’m going to go with the orange from Givenchy’s Candide Garden because I really like it, it’s pretty flattering with my green eyes and, heck, it’s October so you’re got to rock some orange, right?? 🙂 It’s also a good month to rock some pink, I know. It was sort of a tough decision. But I actually thought this AM while getting ready “which eyeshadow would I wear today, if I wasn’t too lazy to skip the eyeshadow?”. Givenchy was the winner. 🙂

Oh goodness…I typically wear Urban Decay Half Baked pretty much every day for work and change up the colors in my crease and outer corners depending on my mood, but if I could only use ONE eyeshadow color…I would have to go with MAC satin taupe. I have fair skin and green eyes, and I love how it makes my eye color pop. Also, I can put it on a little heavier on the outer corners of my eyelids and it looks like i’m wearing more than just one shade. It’s perfect to go from day to night!

Tricky! I might have to go with Smashbox in 35mm. I know, strange choice as it’s not very versatile and won’t definitely take me from day to night. BUT I do like to look as if I’m not wearing any makeup so this gives me enough definition for my needs. I’d normally smoke it out a bit with some black shadow for a night time look.

Great question! Really made me think. 🙂 Happy Friday, Karen!

So now I’d choose the Marcelle Wet or Dry Eyeshadow in Choco Chic. It’s softer, but can be built up for drama.

That would have to be either my Maybelline Expert Wear in Golden Halo or my Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Bronzer/Blush/Eye Shadow in Sunset Strip that I use just as an eye shadow. They’re both pretty yet neutral, everyday gold colors that I was addicted to all summer and STILL even though it’s already autumn (: Some people have told me they resemble MAC Woodwinked, so they might make pretty good dupes. I couldn’t honestly vouch for that myself bec I’ve never tried Woodwinked, so I’m not really sure how accurate that is but a lot of people tell me that when I wear ’em.

Shu Uemura metallic brown, because it’s so versatile – I can use almost any color liner with it and it lasts a long time too.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
