I would totally say “no” to this if it weren’t for one thing, because El Hub is very low maintenance.
Very.
I’ve been trying to get the man to use moisturizer and/or sunscreen for about one billion years, and he still rebuffs my efforts.
Be that as it may, there is one beauty-related tip I’ve learned from him, and it’s this: in a pinch, you can totally use shampoo as a body wash. Also, if you’re extra desperate, you can use shampoo as a face wash as well.
I know this because when he and I first moved in together, I used to buy these huge bottles of Bumble & Bumble shampoo and conditioner, and I remember going into the shower one day and noticing that it seemed like I was going through the shampoo faster than usual…so I asked him, “Are you using my shampoo? If you are, I totally don’t mind,” to which he said, “Yeah I am! That soap is really great! Thank you. I use it for everything.”
Wait, wait wait… Soap? I was like, WHAT?! Please don’t use my expensive Bumble & Bumble shampoo as your body wash, man! So, yeah.
Funny thing is, I’ve gone there myself over the years. I’ve used this shampoo-as-a-body-wash trick a few times, both as a body soap and as a shave gel on my legs and armpits, LOL! AND IT WORKS.
So, thank you, El Hub, for that nugget of knowledge. ??
How about you? Have you stolen any beauty secrets from your significant other?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Oh, heavens no. The Hubs is the same in terms of low maintenance. He still uses bar soap. Like, just regular Dove. Which is fine but I’m a bit fussier about my shampoo and conditioner (they’re not the same bottle, 2-in-1 formula) and my face wash (it’s not bar soap that doubles as body wash). HAHA! Same as El Hub with the moisturizer and sunscreen. Now I just say “close your eyes” and spray him whether he wants it or not. He’ll thank me when he doesn’t have skin cancer! 🙂

Shampoo for shaving, not that I shave but if I shaved, I would use shampoo, like my hubby does. 😀 I also started using old fashioned soap again for body, which he prefers. It’s cheap, so few ingredients, and I like the smell-good, squeaky-clean feeling. The air is humid enough here that it does not dry out my skin too much.
Props to spouses!

My husband is actually pretty good about skin care and he will spend more for high end items while I still stick to drugstore products. A while back he bought the Dermalogica Microfoliant for himself, but I like using it too!

Um a no .
He doesn’t use sunscreen or moisturizer!
And he needs to .
Goes along w the seatbelt .
He says it restricts his ability to back up or in .
Forget vegetables too .
He eats chipped beef at Sunday breakfast or as often as he can .
I try to stay within 1200 calories
( occasionally cheat ) and he doesn’t gain a pound .
Sigh ?

Hahahahahahaaaaa! Sorry. Dear Husband uses deodorant soap to wash everything. Although he does like the Molton Brown shower gels, so I buy him one every now and then and use it for myself too since I like woodsy scents.

Mine is super low maintenance. He hardly ever washes his face (and his skin is perfect *sigh*) but he doesn’t really mix products. He has shampoo and body soap. That’s about it, ha! I got him hooked on this natural soap and he’ll just use whichever one all over his face (even if it’s not really meant for that lol). He does put gel in his hair though.

My hubs is pretty dapper and cleans up well but I’m not sure I’ve borrowed beauty ideas from him per se. He did get me my first electric toothbrush if that counts.

Actually, I use his 2 in 1 shampoo and deodorant from Old Spice. So now I buy the Wolfthorn scent deodorant for me. I’ve thought about writing Old Spice and thanking them for great products for women, ha ha. Other than that, my husband is super low key and I can’t get him to use skin care. His skin is in good condition. He says it’s because he doesn’t use anything. Probably some truth to that, arrhhggg.

Only less is more, my husband doesn’t use any beauty products other than soap and deodorant either.
