Four Revolutions Around the Sun

March 2nd, 2020 by Karen 18 Comments

Connor Claire turned four years old today! — and I’m feeling *all* the feels. The best way I can describe it is bittersweet… I’m so beyond grateful and joyful, but I can’t help but feel a little melancholy at the same time. She’s doing what people do — growing up — but I’m also reminded that she’ll spread her beautiful rainbow wings someday and fly out of our nest, leaving a trail of glitter behind her. 🦄🌈✨

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve cried today. 😢 How do our moms find the strength to let us go? I honestly don’t know if I have it in me.

My roller coaster of emotions aside, it’s been a fun-filled birthday weekend for the Coywolf. We marveled at a magical performance of Disney on Ice, baked confetti birthday cupcakes together, and went for a hike and lunch with her uncle. Tonight, we’ll celebrate with her annual birthday lasagna and a trip to Baskin-Robbins for a birthday ice cream cone.

Can you name the princess on the left of the stage backdrop?

Thank you for being a friend and walking with me along the way. It seems like just yesterday you were giving me advice about burp cloths and teething. (Remember her very first day on earth?)

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Oh my goodness, if that gorgeous munchkin is 4 years old, that means I’ve been reading your blog for more than 5 years. Where does the time go???

Many very happy returns of the day to herself! May she have many more!

Time flies when you look at your children, and it is bittersweet to see them develop and grow, because it inevitably leads to them leaving you one day.
    Happy Birthday to the Coywolf!

Wow, happy birthday, Connor Claire. It seems like just a year or so since she was born. Amazing how we share our lives together online and how fast the years fly by.

Yippee!!! Happy birthday, Connor Claire! Hope you and your family had a great time celebrating (omg, confetti cupcakes! No awesome birthday is complete without those and the infamous birthday lasagna – yum!)

Karen, I completely understand how you felt. It’s amazing just how quickly time passes, But I have a feeling Connor Claire will grow to be just like her mom – an intellligent, beautiful soul, ready to take on the world!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CONNOR!! I love her outfit and am glad that you all had a wonderful, fun filled birthday! You’ll have the strength to let her go after the teenage years, when you’ll want to boot her out on a daily basis. HAHA! Kidding. I laugh so I don’t cry. It’s coming up fast for me (next year). You might hear about it occasionally… 😉

I’m behind, but happy belated birthday to Connor Claire! Those cupcakes are so beautiful, and Disney on Ice sounds fun! Can’t believe it’s been 4 years and I’ve been chatting with you for probably a decade? eek!

I remember your pregnancy… so beautiful time of a woman’s life!
My two children graduated last January, it’s the same feeling: what? So soon???
As my daughter graduated in History, as myself, I have the aditional pleasure of handing her the diploma. It was a great moment! I’m looking forward to see Coywolf’s new achievements!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
