Do I mind if my makeup feels heavy?
Hmm…
Yes and no. I’m not as accustomed to wearing ALL. THE. THINGS. on my face as I once was. I mean, four or five years ago, when I’d contour my nose just to go to Trader Joe’s to buy bread, I reveled in my multi-step process, but I had more time. Heck, I remember my base alone would take a minimum of seven products, and that was not including bronzer, highlighter and blush.
OMG! It was intense. Granted, I thought it looked great in pics, and I loved doing it, but that was a different time. I didn’t mind wearing lots (and lots and lots) of product on my face.
These days, I don’t wear as much makeup on a daily basis, so now I’m used to wearing makeup that feels lighter.
Once or twice a week, though, I’ll do something akin to full glam that feels heavier than my usual minimal makeup, and when I do, I don’t mind how it feels… I think I’ve still got that makeup muscle memory.
Maybe it’s just that once you get used to wearing heavy makeup, that feeling of being comfortable with it never goes away. LOL!
How about you? Do you mind if your makeup feels heavy on your face?

For everyday, I can’t stand heavy feeling makeup. For shows or special occasions I tolerate it but can’t wait to get home and wash it off!
I love this eye look!

I used to always wear a full face and couldn’t be bothered if it felt “heavy”. Then I went to school and for a year only wore makeup on weekends. Now I can DEFINITELY tell the difference! There was this pro longwear blush I’d occasionally wear (MAC) and it’s unbearable to wear now. Sooo heavy! The rest of the stuff doesn’t bother me too much. Only sometimes.

When I was a showgirl, heavy makeup for stage/shooting was, of course, the norm. But I noticed that as I got older/got sick of performing, my stage makeup started getting lighter and lighter to where I wasn’t even wearing false lashes for a large audience show.
At times, even lining my bottom lash line and smoking it out or wearing a dark eyeshadow color on the lid “feels” “heavy,” not to mention makes me look tired. On the weekends, when I’m most likely at the beach, there is absolutely no need to wear any makeup so my tolerance for that heavy makeup feeling has certainly plummeted.

That depends on what I am doing – for everyday, I don´t want my makeup feeling heavy, but for special occasions or filming videos, I absolutely don´t mind it.

Heavy makeup is a killer for me. I can literally feel my pores clogging. HAHA! But I’m also the person who can’t work out with makeup on my face; and I have to wash my face as soon as I’m done. Otherwise, it’s the same feeling. Heavy and dirty. 🙂

I haaaate the feeling of product on my skin. SO much. That, and it seems with base products, my skin looks so much worse/textured than it did before applying, so I give up. I use only sunscreen (mineral-based so it has a beige tint to it thankfully) and a concealer on my pink cheeks & undereyes. Even just that though – the sunscreen primarily – gives my face a ‘made up’ look and I hate it. I need something that looks like a second skin but I am too lazy/tapped out to find that unicorn. Your skin looks AMAZING all the time, doll! And that eye look is beyond gorgeous. Like the rainbow colours you’d see in an oil slick – only I truly truly mean that as a compliment! It is mesmerizing.

“Makeup muscle memory…”. I love that! I have less tolerance these days for the feel of a full-makeup look on my face. And since I wear minimal makeup most of the time, now, my skills have even gotten a bit rusty. So, no, it feels suffocating to me, now. I have a luncheon event next week (daytime, charity), I’ll be in full face for the first time in a while—I can tolerate it for that and I hope that muscle memory kicks in.

OMG ! Those lashes are simply gorgeous!!!
I hate anything heavy on my face. Heavy creams and moisturizers, ugh. I despise heavy sunscreen. I’d rather risk drying out my skin with a sunscreen high in alcohol than deal with one with a heavy texture. Same goes for foundation. It has to feel like nothing on my skin. Sigh. I will never be glamorous because I can always feel the pea under my pile of mattresses, so to speak.

I can’t stand it if my foundation feels heavy. That is definitely a deal breaker for me, and I’ll return it even if everything else about it is good. I don’t wear too much base makeup and I never contour, so the only things that could feel heavy are my eye makeup, specifically mascara, or foundation, and I don’t think I can ever say I felt my eyeshadow literally feel heavy, but sure, it can look heavy.

I hate that heavy feeling! It’s one reason I stopped wearing foundation all together. Also recently I was at an Estee Lauder event and the sales person put ALL THE THINGS on my face. It felt good until a few hours later when it all just felt like it was weighing me down. I don’t mind my lipstick feeling heavy or weird though. Anything for the perfect pout! ??
