Bump Watch: 18 Weeks

October 7th, 2015 by Karen 52 Comments

baby girl at 18 weeks

Hello, belly and Baby Girl! Now that she’s officially 18 weeks old, she’s popping out for all the world to see.

I feel like I’m walking around all day, errr-day with a melon under my shirt because she’s gotten pretty big over the past month, and now she’s growing fast, too.

Just how big is she now? Well, here she is with a Grande Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Decaf Latte for comparison, haha.

For the most part, I’m still getting around pretty well, but it is getting a little harder to chase Tabs around the house, to sprint up and down the stairs and to walk up the steepest hills in our neighborhood.

I know it’s only temporary, and this is a special time. Pretty soon Baby Girl will be out in the world, but for now, it’s just me and her.

You do look radiant. Like I said in previous comments, make sure you get enough rest during the day. You will thank me. Enjoy this time with baby girl. We would always sing and play Mozart while Zack was in-utero. It’s calming as well.
Best of luck to you and El Hub!

Keep on smiling! Your radiant positivity is the best gift you can give to her, now and when she is tagging along holding her glam-mama’s hand on the Starbucks or Sephora run. You two will have so much to chat about very soon. The time just flies! Glad you are enjoying and documenting the glow.

You look absolutely gorgeous and glowing! Enjoy every minute – sleep, rest, watch movies, exercise, go on dates, and just enjoy being pregnant and being doted on. I have been through it 3 times…whew! It does all change, but for the better. You will be a great Mom!

Mine are 9 (boy), 4 (girl) and 22 months (boy). That last one caught us by surprise, but he is so much fun and gives us a run for our money! You are way cuter than I was the first time around. Let’s just say I really enjoyed the eating part. More than I should have!!

      Hi Annemarie,

I think he’s OK right now but very suspicious. We have a few baby things around the house — some toys and clothes and whatnot — and he’s already marked all of them with his cheeks so we know they belong to “him”, LOL! I keep trying to tell him that he’s getting a new kitten in March but he just isn’t buying it.

LOL! I know what you mean about the cheek rub “marking”–My little Rose has to rub against EVERYTHING I bring in the house to mark it hers!
I’ve read that when you and El Hub bring Baby Girl home from the hospital, you should enter your home first and greet Tabs and El Hub should carry Baby Girl in the house behind you–helps Tabs reduce stress and jealousy towards Baby Girl–but I’m sure he will adjust and love his new ‘kitten” as much as he loves you!

You look awesome, Karen. Once again so happy for you. Make sure to try out some prenatal yoga. I loved it. You know…Pamela is a wonderful name for a girl (wink, wink) because it means “all honey” and you’re little girl is sure to be sweeter than any Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Karen!!! You look amazing and SO happy! I remember my three pregnancies as some of the best days of my life. I was loved being pregnant, especially my last pregnancy. I was savoring it, knowing it was the last time I would ever feel a baby moving and growing inside of me. Soak up every single minute, enjoy every hiccup and kick. It really is a beautiful season of your life.❤️
