7 Ways to Win a $50 eGift Card From Sephora!

July 27th, 2013 by Karen 350 Comments

A Makeup and Beauty Blog giveaway

Win a Sephora eCard on Makeup and Beauty Blog
Travelin’ with tried-and-true faves for my tresses from Bumble & Bumble (available at Sephora)

Rise and shine from Redding! We’re packing up and getting ready to drive back to the Bay Area.

I might not even empty out my suitcase when we get home, though, because I’m taking another trip next week, that one down to Venice Beach in Southern California to visit the headquarters of Hourglass Cosmetics…also known as one of my favorite brands at Sephora.

Okay, well, I should at least unpack my dirty clothes and leave my suitcase open for a few minutes to let Tabs sit in there and chill. (It’s up to him. This is “The Tabs Show” after all, and I’m just a bit player.)

Speaking of Sephora, can I just say how thrilled I was when they started carrying Bumble & Bumble?

Back before they started carrying it, I had to hunt and gather across the great plains of Novato to find my favorite Bumble products. It’s kind of comforting knowing now that when I run out of my B&B must-haves, I just have to make it to the closest Sephora.

Win this weekend’s $50 Sephora e-gift card giveaway, and then shake your tail feathers on down to your closest Sephora to snag bottles of Bumble’s Gentle Shampoo, Super Rich Conditioner, Color Minded Styling Balm and/or Brilliantine. I literally don’t leave home without ’em. Highly recommended.

Have a great one today. I’ll catch up with you soon.

Win a $50 gift card from Sephora

  • One (1) Sephora eGift card containing $50 sent to the winner by email (international readers, you may opt to receive $50 sent by PayPal instead).

  • Enter using the Rafflecopter widget below.
  • Open to U.S. and international readers.
  • You must be 18 or older to enter (or otherwise an adult based on your local laws).
  • Your comment can be about anything at all, but here are some ideas if you’re stuck: What color lipstick would go well with a rose blush? What’s a good face wash for someone with sensitive skin? What’s your favorite eyeshadow? Are you having a good time? Have you done any traveling so far this summer? Have you ever been to South America?
  • You can enter in up to seven ways to boost your chances of winning.
  • The giveaway ends on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at 11:59 PM (Pacific Time).
  • Full terms and conditions are available in the widget.

oo I’ve never tried bumble&bumble. I wanted to try their beach wave product. My friends tell me I have nice beachy hair. I think it looks messy :/ But I’m learning to accept the waves lol

We have a local skincare brand that works well for sensitive skin. Brand’s name is Celeteque. They have different face washes to target specific problems (dry skin, acne, dull skin) and so far they seem to be very friendly to sensitive skin.

On the face wash/cleanser comment train today, I have UBER sensitive skin. When it comes to skincare, I have to b beyond careful about almost everything-from lip balm to acne cream, since I tend to get super dry spots as a result of my eczema. Recently, I discovered Lush’s “Ultrabland” cleanser, which not only has the most exciting name on the planet, but is super moisturizing and gentle. Angels on Bare Skin? This is even more angelic than the Lush cleanser with THAT name.

A face wash for sensitive skin? Well, for fragrance-free one’s:
    Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
    Cerave Hydrating Cleanser
Olay Foaming Face Wash for Sensitive Skin
    Paula’s Choice Cleansers

I have never tried Bumble & Bumble. I was tempted to try but I noticed that the preservative in the shampoo was methylisothiazolinone–which has the potential to cause eczema. It is silly I think to replace parabens (where the research surrounding its danger isn’t even sound) with known skin irritants. I just looked up the styling products you use and there is none of that in there so I might give those a try.

I like to pair neutral pink lip colors with a rose blush. I usually like to wear Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in “Honey”, a definite MLBB color so that my lips don’t compete with my blush. My favorite face wash for sensitive skin is one I found at my local health food store called “Himalaya Organix Neem and Tumeric” face wash which is all natural with very gentle ingredients that don’t irritate your skin. The Neem and Tumeric are good for their acne-fighting properties. Haven’t done any traveling this summer but I have been to South America twice before!

Hmm…maybe a nude lipstick would go with a rose blush. I haven’t travelled yet but I’m going to go to the seaside next week….I wanted to go to the mountains but my parents changed that…pfff.

A face wash for sensitive skin would be NIVEA’s, the blue gel one for normal and combination skin. Now I got one gel from Herbosophy but I think it’s drying me out >.<

I have tons of eyeshadow and I love them all 😀 I love my duochrome ones the most, though 😀 I have 3 from Farmasi. One is a coral-pink-salmon that looks golden in some angles, one is light periwinkle blue that looks pinky-peachy-lavender in some angles and one's teal-green that looks more golden in some angles <3

I'm having an O.K. time, I'm very bored and it's too hot outside…

I've never been to South America but maybe I will one day.

I have watched many of the infomercials for WEN and I have yet to be convinced to purchase it. However, I did purchase carol’s Daughter Hair milk and it works wonders on my biracial curl/wavy hair. It detangles, hydrates each wave and curl and feels like absolute silk. It is well priced at $18 and there is no need to to use 14 to 16 pumps of it to get the full effects.

I started following you a few weeks ago and wonder if you mention products, make-up, clothing styles for women over 50. I am 58 and like clothing (which I struggle with now, that’s a whole other conversation, make up, and looking fabulous. So, I watch for things that would be good for me (my age group). Oh I am adventurous though!!!

Haven’t done any travelling yet this summer. Taking the bar in FOUR DAYS. In late August though me and my significant other are heading to Montreal for a cheap-as-can-be vacation. We’re going to rent an apartment (which is way cheaper than a hotel would be) and will try to be thrifty as possible while still having fun to celebrate the end of law school and bar prep!

Pond’s is the best cleanser for sensitive skin.

And it really does work! It can take off waterproof mascara, and anything else you might have put on your face (intentionally or not) through the day. The film it leaves on your skin does not cause break outs, and it is a perfect base for heavier night cream (Cetaphil). Love it. It’s a classic for a reason.

I do use B&B Color-Minded shampoo but not sure if it’s HG for me. I like the results of their Surf Spray, but it sure takes a toll on my hair’s condition. But I do like the Deeep mask…that really makes a difference. And it’s nice to pick up at Sephora.com and get some samples and whatever promo/BI samples they have.

Really, I’ve fallen in love with hair oils (but not B&B) and Kérastase Resistance Ciment Thermique Prime (amazeball). I dyed my hair copper-red and been using Davines Red conditioner and it’s allowed me to keep the color so that’s a new fav, too. Now, if only Sephora sold Kerastase & Davines…

I would splurge on something fancy, like crazy false eyelashes or an expensive sunless tanner!

The best face wash for sensitive skin is dirt cheap! Cetaphil antibacterial bar! I’ve used it for years and it really helped clear up my skin and doesn’t dry it out

Favorite eyeshadow is Bobbi Brown Lilac right now, great for a lilac-smoky eye. Best facewash for sensitive skin in my opinion is Philosophy Purity Made Simple! And of course the Philosophy Purity Cleansing Oil.

I think a great face wash for sensitive skin is Fresh Farmacy from Lush. I like the light scent and how smooth my skin feels when I wash it off. It also doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight or dry like a lot of face washes tend to do.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
