Reese Witherspoon: Her Best Cut?

December 5th, 2008 by Karen 45 Comments

Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon sure keeps her stylists on their toes, doesn’t she? Here are some of the cuts she’s worn over the past few years. No. 5 (in the middle) is from Four Christmases, the movie she’s in with Vince Vaughn.

Which of Reese’s cuts do you like best?

Popular Winter Hairstyles

Bangs: To brighten a winter pallor, try sideswept or full bangs. It’ll frame the face and draw attention to your eyes.
Bobs: Need a quick, low-maintenance cut this winter? Consider a short bob with heavily tapered tips for a edgy look, or a deliberately messy bob for a sexy look.
Long Hair: Long hair looks great over bulky winter outfits and under hats. Consider hair extensions if you’re already sporting shorter hair.
Shags: Another classic short hairstyle, the shag can vary in length, layers and texture. Try adding lowlights for depth and dimension.
Volume: To balance layers of bulky winter wear, add volume to hair with root boost sprays and volumizing shampoos.
Razors: The messy texture of razor hair cuts gives an edgy look to holiday styles.

I’m thinking about changing my cut to either a shag or a bob for winter…

Karen

I love Reese. She’s so beautiful, but in a totally natural way. I don’t look at her and think, “Man…I wonder what she’s had done!”

And as a fellow blonde, I like it when we’ve got smart, strong women representing us in the media. Especially ones with killer hair!

    #1 and #9 are my faves. <3

    Hi P. Potter,

I love her, too. Did you see her on the cover of last month’s Vogue? She looked spectacular.

I just watched a movie with her from waaaay back when called Man in the Moon. She was a baby in it… not more than 13 or 14!

I think a long bob angled to the front would look great on you. But I like your pretty long hair too!

I went with number 1 but I LOVE her as a brunette also, she’s stunning. Bob’s are fantastic. I am growing mine out after having it for about two years, but every time I see someone with one, I want to hack it off again! 😉

I love them all, I love Reese! I want to name my daughter Reese, still warming my boyfriend up to that idea. She and my Jakey poo make the perfect couple.

I love #1 and #5. Long, straight with bangs work well with her face shape I think.

And is it me, or did Reese get like 10x hotter in the past couple years?

I voted for number 2 for the cut, but it was very close with number 5 (love her lipstick in that shot too).
I love Reese 🙂 She’s so nice and pretty.

I adore Reese. She’s so classy! Thanks for all the pics! I just got my hair cut into a mix of a “pob” (vic beckham’s angled bob) and Gwyneth’s new angeled shoulder length cut. I’m loving it! It’s so low maintenance in the winter – no hair to get stuck under the neck of your coat, and then get all staticky, etc. But it’s still long enough I can do a cute ponytail to exercise in.

I prefer her with shorter hair. Although, it looks cute in all these pics!

I’ve been contemplating chopping my hair off lately into a long bob. I’m not sure how well I can pull it off though.

I think Reese can really pull of anything…seriously!

p.s. my favorite movie when I was 11…was my first encounter with Ms. Witherspoon. I thought she was wonderful, and I used to watch it over and over and I would cry every time. Here’s a pic of her back then…and yeah she can even pull of the no makeup, pony tail 13 year old look

I wouldn’t cut my hair for anything in winter. Need it to cover my ears! Granted there’s something called the HAT but my ears would be warmer with my hair AND my hat. And besides, I don’t wear a hat unless I want to pretend to be chic =P

Definitely #6. It’s so contemporary and has a bit of rocker chic to it. And if you’re trying to decide between a shag ands a bob, I’d go with the bobbed cut. It’s easy to work with and can be customized to flatter anyone. I wore my hair in a bobbed cut for several years, so I’m a bit biased towards it.

    Hi Jaime,

Your new cut sounds really cute. I have to be able to pull my hair back when I exercise, too, so I will have to look into that.

What products do you use to style it? Do you need a lot?

But hey, I grow my hair out just to give me something to do, so I dunno if you should listen to me, LOL.

Hi Karen. Have you decided to go with short hair? Can’t wait to see your new hairstyle! Reese Witherspoon seems to have to face where she looks good in all sorts of hairstyle, and I have a friend like that too. How lucky they are. I’m thinking of doing no. 3 next year, but I have slight wavy hair, so it will be a messy bob.

Hi Karen – Thanks! Yes it’s a tad longer now (maybe 1-2 inches). I just got back form The Paul Mitchell Hair School in Pleasant Hill, which I wanted to try because of their incredibly cheap prices but I’m not too thrilled…I just got a trim which was fine, but I wanted more “edgy”dark lowlights to play off my blonde highlights, but they turned out very “natural” looking which wasn’t what I was going for. Oh well, you get what you pay for! 😉
