I have to wear my hair up at the bakery, and there are only so many high ponytails and messy buns I can take.
I HAVE REACHED MY LIMIT!
Enter these fantastic doodads. They’re the Mia Beauty Lockettes, and they’re comprised of dual interlocking plastic combs with wavy teeth, and I’ll be darned if they aren’t the easiest way to lock down a French twist.
Chic, elegant, easy, and once you get them in, you can basically rock out like a headbanger and do cartwheels, and these suckers will stay in place!
They’re they’re so easy to use, too. All you have to do is gather your hair up into a French twist, then stick one comb into one side…
And the other comb into the other, thereby interlocking the teeth.
And that holds your French twist in place.
I have a good amount of hair. It’s past my shoulders, and I expected my hair to bust out, but the Lockettes keep every strand secure.
They come in brown or black for $6.99 a pair, and you can find them online and at drugstores. HIGHLY recommended.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

That’s so cool. I use a big clamp and have hair falling out every where. Going to give these a try! Thanks.

Ok ok ok — I LOVE this idea. I’m forever struggling with my hair and I’m awful at doing a French twist, so these sound like the dream!!! Plus I love a bandless hold; I always feel like clips and combs are so much more comfortable.

That sounds awesome. I am using bobby pins when doing a French Twist, but that either lasts through everything and the whole day OR slips out the second I leave the house – and I never found out why.

I love the silver in your hair, this style really complements it. Beautiful!

OMG! Mind blown. This looks so simple and you do have a lot of hair. Surely these would also work on my thinning, post menopausal strands. –Side note–saw a photo of myself holding my newborn son from nearly 17 years ago. I had sooooo much hair back then. I knew I had thinning hair but until I saw that photo, it hadn’t totally sunk in. I’ve probably lost half my volume. Hint hint. Investigate what I could use, wouldja?
Definitely going to look for these on my next Walgreens run.

I immediately looked how how to do a French Twist. Don’t know why as my hair is barely below my earlobes. Maybe I’ll do this to Dear Daughter’s hair.
I was at a museum opening this past Saturday in Tokyo and there were many women dressed up in kimonos with their hair up in what I consider to be the Japanese variation of a French twist. I kept thinking how elegant they all looked. And yes, the kimonos where gorgeous. The silks and embroidery were stunning.

looks awesome karen! unfortunately, my hair is so thin, I doubt these clips will hold them up but for that price, it’s worth a try!
