MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Eyeshadow Face of the Day

July 10th, 2008 by Karen 51 Comments

I just realized that I hadn’t shown a picture of my new hairdo. I decided to revert back to my natural hair color for a change, so to speak. What do you think?

I paired my new hair with this very quick face of the day using an old MAC Cosmetics Mineralize eyeshadow duo called Silversmith. Starting with MAC Paint in Shimma on my lid and into the crease, I then dusted a layer of the light blue from Silversmith on top. I lined the upper water line with Lancome Le Stylo Waterproof eyeliner in Noir and lined the lower lash line with the dark blue shade from Silversmith.

Lastly, two coats o’ Chanel Inimitable on my lashes, a light dusting of MAC Select Sheer Loose Powder in NC 30 all over the face, MAC Sunbasque Blush on my cheeks and then topped the look off with Chanel Constellation Glossimer on my lips.

I hope you had a wonderful Thursday! What was the highlight of your day?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

    Hey Karen!

Your hair looks beautiful! I was hoping to see your natural color. But I’ve always been jealous of beautiful dark hair, because mine’s naturally a sort of boring dark blonde.

You look stunning hun. I am loving dark hair on you, it brings out your features much better, and your eyes look more sparkly. 🙂

I knew you looked different even before I read the post! lol… ok I only mention that cuz it’s a rare occurance for me to notice anything on anyone. So consider yourself lucky! 😀 hehe

You look sooooooooooooooooo pretty! I went back to my natural color a couple years ago. Every so often I get an itch to change it up again but I think that dark hair is da bomb diggity, especially with tan skinned peeps. It really does bring out our eyes and features like I<3makeup mentioned!!

You look stunning, you really really do! 😀

Thank you, girlie. I gotta say though, I’m jealous of your blonde hair. That’s a shade I’ll never be able to really get away with… and they do say blondes have more fun! I wish I could find out if that was true (le sigh). Hope you’re having a good night. Are you ready for friday?

Yay you look great. I envy your hair and it kind of makes me miss my long hair. Your natural hair color is so nice too – black? Mine is dark brown-black. Yes it was very liberating when I chopped off my hair. When I carry my bags, mostly shoulder bags, the straps won’t rest on and tug at my hair anymore! Freedom from pain!

I cut my hair about a month ago? I’m kind of skeptical about hair salons here in Tucson, so when I went to visit my family I went to my faaavorite salon back in Hawaii. My hair was halfway down my back and I cut it down to a super short [for me!] bob! I hated it at first but I think it’s growing on me lol

    Happy Friday!

This is going to be a long comment since I’ll be replying to three comments of yours 😀

Ooh, this is even better than with the highlights! Very nice 🙂 I know what you mean, every time I have highlights my hair seems very dry even after conditioning and hair masks. Sometimes you’re just better off without. 🙂

About the orange.. well, peach is my muted orange but having seen the vivid orange on you I’d like to be able to use something a *tad* bit more powerful 😀 Well I do own MAC’s Slimshine in Funshine which is a vivid orange on me so maybe that is a good start, haha.

I wouldn’t call your language skills restricted at all! Knowing even the basics of two languages is a great start and what’s better than insulting people in a weird language (most of them) they don’t understand..! *evil grin* LOL! I love listening to French, be it on TV or music. I started learning English at the age of 9 (3rd grade) and Swedish at 13 (7th) which was the crucial age, after that I haven’t been able to learn anything well in terms of foreign languages. Nevertheless, I guess one could learn anything if one had enough motivation and time.. 🙂 I was pretty stressed out in Stockholm too, since I suck at speaking the language, I’m better at understanding and writing. What’s more, the natives speak it so fast that I lose track very easily, haha.

Thanks for the tip with the Ivory shade! Will try that one. It helped with Sumptuous Olive so maybe it’s the same with this one, too 😉 Remember to tell us how you liked the palette once you’ve tried it! I haven’t used it for a while despite it being so pretty.. 😛

I should’ve hit the salon up a while ago already, which is weird since normally I get my roots done every third month but now they look awful only after less than two months.. I can’t exactly afford going there every month, lol. And there’s no way I’ll keep my own colour which is a common colour for Finns: natural dirty/ashy blonde. I look a lot better in golden blonde. ;P But I have to go there very soon!

And hey thanks for the pancake rec! I’ve been wanting to visit Hawaii since elementary school but whenever I’ll be going I’m sure to ask you about the pancake place 😀 They sound heavenly delicious!

Oh, and if I may ask: how did you and El Hub meet? I’m really happy to read about love stories in this world where most relationships last no longer than a few months. I’m still waiting for The One and these happy stories give me hope 🙂

What are you up to this weekend? I think I need to clean my room, it’s a real mess, ha! Other than that no plans 🙂 Have a good one!

    Dear Karen,
Yours is a very striking look and natural, too. Of course, I would love to have my natural black hair back again. But alas, it is all silver underneath the dye. Now I am blonde and it keeps the maintenance low. I keep threatening Dear Hubby that I am going to let it grow out because of the money that I would save, but he is not ready to “be with” an old lady, yet. hahahahaha. I’ll bet that you would look great with coral colors, given your skin tone. Try NARS Cactus Flower blush and Chanel Rich Coral lippie or the Big Bang glossimer. I could just see you now. . . . . Tea with the BFF sounds like a blast. Don’t you love all those cutesy little sandwiches and desserts? They certainly don’t fill you up, though. I went with my friends to tea before and afterwards there was macdonald’s stop, LOL.

Dunno if I asked you this, but what island are you from?

Bobs can be high maintenance, especially if they’re shorter and your hair grows fast. If you need somebody in your town one good resource is yelp. It’s a site where local folks review restaurants, salons, etc. It’s helpful if you’re in a new town, especially.

Love,Love,Love the hair. Oh and inimitable (you inquired about my feelings for it) is a love, hate, in love to the max mascara for me. Initially I thought it was all I’d ever need but then I kinda felt like they gave me librarian (no offense librarians) eye lashes when I wanted saucy vixen so I laid off of it. However with my discovery of the one coat Definicils with one coat Inimitable duo, I have found nirvana. Btw, did I tell you how much I love the hair!
