Sometimes you feel like a shimmery plum cut crease… Sometimes you don’t. 🙂
Today, I did not.
I barely had the energy to curl my lashes (but I still found the strength to do it, LOL!).
This is a makeup look I’ve been doing lately when I haven’t felt like going to infinity and beyond but still want to look somewhat presentable. It takes about 10 minutes from start to finish, and even though it ain’t flashy or anything, I still feel pretty put together when I wear it.
(Please excuse the hair… I’ve temporarily nicknamed it “The Mop.”)
Makeup I’m wearing in this look…
- Make Up For Ever Base Smoothing Primer — cheeks, nose and under-eyes as a primer (Quick review: AMAZE-BALLZ. Just as great as the Smashbox Pore Minimizing Primer I’ve been using the past few months.)
- MAC Face and Body Foundation in C4 — foundation (applied with my fingers to save time)
- RMS Beauty Tinted “Un” Powder in 2-3 — powder
- Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 25 Medium — under-eyes
- Bobbi Brown Face & Body Bronzing Duo in Antigua and Golden Light — cheeks (I mixed the blush and bronzer together and swept that on the apples), around the edges of the face (just the bronzer), and in the crease of my eyes (again, just the bronzer)
- RMS Beauty Living Luminizer — inner corners of the eyes, brow bone
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Brunette — brows
- Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Ardoise — upper water and lash lines
- Buxom Lash Mascara in Blackest Black — lashes (This is my new A+ favorite mascara, by the way. Great for curl, separation and lift, and it doesn’t clump.)
- MAC Julia Petit Satin Lipstick in Boca — lips (the BEST MLBB shade)
What’s your 10-minute makeup routine like? If you literally have to get out the door, like, 10 minutes from now, but you still want to wear a little makeup, what do you do?
(Yes, I will steal your ideas. 🙂 )
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

It looks very pretty and polished!
I actually have a 5-minute look, literally. It consists of: bareMinerals BB Eyeshadow in Candlelit Peach all over the lid, the first under-eye concealer I can get my hands on (usually theBalm Timebalm concealer), Lancome Grandiose mascara, Clinique Almost Makeup powder foundation, random powder blush (these days a Smashbox Halo), a Clinique Chubby Stick on the lips (Fuller Fig, Mega Melon are the most used). Voilà!

I *LOVE* this look Karen!
Do you have any tips for face makeup when it comes to trying to color match a slightly darker forehead with a slightly lighter rest of the face? I typically select the lighter color on my face and color match my base to that and then apply bronzer on the edges of my forehead. Is that what you did here? It looks really natural and I love the subtle transition from light to dark 🙂

I like the Bobbi Brown Beauty Balm in fair (applied with fingers), and Under Eye Corrector in light medium peach, a go-to blush (like Benefit Dallas), curl lashes mascara – out the door! 🙂
Jen says
1. MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter in Radiant Rose for eye dark circles 2. Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation 3. Bobbi Brown Eye Corrector in Extra Light Bisque (NC25 for reference) 4. Light dusting of MAC Mineralize Skinfinish powder in T-zone 5. NARS eyeshadow duo in Madrague to even out the skin tone on my lids 6. Liner brush and dark brown matte shadow to define the upper lash line 7. Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara (after curling!) 8. MAC Cheeky blush (from the Osbourne release last year?) 9. Clinique’s Color Surge Butter Shine lipstick in Pink Beach, the perfect shimmery gold pink color. Done!

Love this look! So simple and yet put-together. That lipstick looks so gorgeous on you! My 10 minute look is similar – primer (Kiehl’s), liquid foundation (Bourjois healthy mix), concealer under the eyes (Nars creamy concealer), brow powder (Nyx) and cream blush on cheeks and lips (Bobbi Brown pot rouge in calypso coral). Oh and mascara! My current fav is a Korean brand -Clio.
Kwmechelle says
1. Cover Girl foundation from the Queen Collection in Honey on my lids to act as a base & to provide a smooth, even canvas.
2. MAC Brow crayon in spiked
3. MAC Uninterrupted (per your recommendation) all over the lid.
4. MAC Mulch eyeshadow on my mobile lid. And MAC concealer in NC50 to sculpt & to act as my highlighter.
5. NARS concealer in Amande under the eyes. I set it with ELF translucent powder.
6. Benefit They’re Real on the lashes.
7. CG Bronzer in Ebony from the Queen Collection on my cheeks. I also sweep it up to my ears.
8. MAC Lipglass in Clear. It’s hella shiny (I’m talking my lips look like I had super greasy, but yummy, fried chicken). I LOVE it’s high gloss shine.
Voilà! I’m ready to take over the world (just like Brain from Pinky & the Brain =)

My quick makeup routine is
1) Moisturizer. Because even though I get oily at the end of the day, I have flakey skin, too.
2) Shiseido sunblock. A lotiony one I picked up in Tokyo.
3) Either Cle de Peau Radiant foundation patted on with my fingers where needed or Armani Luminessence CC Cream all over.
4) A beige, peachy beige or light taupe shadow to cancel out the redness in my lids.
5) Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in Diffused Light or NARS
Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder to set.
5) Bobbi Brown brow gel in Blonde.
6) Mascara – Whatever tube I have open at the time. I’m always trying new ones.
7) Lipstick – Whatever I happen to grab. Although lately with a nude eye, I’ve wearing red. Even during the day.

This is a great look for you Karen! Quick and easy but very put-together and polished.

Dammit! Stupid MAC not bringing many of the recent collections to my store, that does look like a really nice MLBB shade.
Oh well, I shall have to treasure my Patentpolish Lip pencil

Sunscreen first, always. While that soaks in I’ll do a swipe of something bright, neutral and slightly shimmery on my lids, gray or brown eyeliner, black mascara. Then powder everywhere, swirl of blush, strategic dusting of bronzer, done. Then when I’m in the car I do my lipstick. I’m a pro red light red lipstick applier!

Mascara – lately it’s been Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme
Light dusting of Smashbox Halo hydrating powder in medium

Oddly enough, I had to do a really quick makeup just yesterday morning, on account of a 9:00 a.m. doctor appointment.
I know, you don’t necessarily need to look healthy at the doctor’s office, but even we sick people have our pride …
Anyhow, I did the following:
– about three dabs of very sheer (airbrush) foundation around nose and on blemishes; blended with a damp BeautyBlender
– tightline upper lash lines with It Cosmetics Liner Love in “Graphite” ( this baby doesn’t need primer, even on my oil-slick lids!)
– smudges of Milani Shadow Eyez shadow stick in “Café Au Lait” in creases
-defined brows with matte taupe eyeshadow and angle brush; lined bottom lids with same
-curled lashes; applied black mascara
– used clear lip liner around lip; added OCC “New Wave” Stained Gloss for sheer color

This is a very pretty, quick, everyday look. You look lovely.
My 10-min. look: Skip primer unless my face is in a super-oily cycle. BareMinerals BareEscentuals Original Foundation SPF 15, using their large flat Kabuki. It takes 30 seconds tops to swirl it over my face and neck. Follow with their Mineral Veil in Translucent, with the same Kabuki. Whatever eye primer I grab first. I’ll use a fluffy angled eye brush to swirl a shimmery nude, light pinkish brown, or lavender taupe from lid to not quite the eyebrow. A highlighter shade under my brow and on the brow bone. BareMinerals All Over Face Color in Rose Radiance lightly on my cheeks, bridge of my nose, hairline and a tiny bit on the chin. Skip curling my lashes. Only one coat of mascara, but I go with a really black volumizing one, so I can skip eyeliner. A pinky-brown nude or a MLBB shade, so I don’t have to worry about lipliner, feathering issues, or precise application.
Iris says
I’d use sunscreen, Smashbox Camera Ready BB cream for eyes, BareMinerals original mineral veil, eye primer, a silver eyeshadow (the one from Victoria’s Secret’s Secret Spot duro), and Marc Jacobs LoveMarc Matte Lip Gel in Gossip.
LindaLibraLoca says
Corrector, Concealer, Liner, Mascara, Bronzer, bold Lipstick. Less than 10 minutes.
Trude says
I’m a natural blonde, so if I have to get out the door, having my brows and lashes done and redness covered (at least somewhat) is key to feeling presentable. A tinted sunscreen set with Studio Fix pressed powder, Anastasia Brow Wiz, It Cosmetics tightline mascara + Diorshow mascara, Milk Chocolate bronzer in the hollows and the crease for definition, bit of blush if I’m good on time!
Vanessa says
Ate Karen, you look soooo ethereal here!! I love it! What top are you wearing? It looks so pretty!
Mardi says
Today I did a ten minute face. In fact it might have been five minutes. Sunday grocery shopping was my destination. I used tinted moisturiser (NARS), setting powder (Tarte), blush (Bourjois Rose Éclat), Hourglass Arch brow pencil, a curl of the lashes then Becca Ultimate Mascara. A dash of whatever lipstick I had in my handbag and off I went.
Sandy says
Lovely quick look Karen, glad you’re finding some time for it. Wish I had snagged that MAC lipstick when it came out.
