MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Pressed PowderThe new outfits MAC recently gave the Mineralize Skinfinishes rankled quite a few of us (judging by the comments). Well, the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural face powders also got new threads.

MAC gave them a mirror, making them look more like regular powder compacts, and an opaque black cover with their trademark logo.

This one here is Medium Tan ($32), one of the new shades recently added to the line, available now at MAC counters, stores and maccosmetics.com.

I wore it both days last weekend with MAC Face & Body Foundation, and so far, so good!

No oxidizing, and I think it looks super natural on my combination dry/oily skin. I apply it once in the morning, and it lasts all day.

I’m a little tempted to pop out the powder to see if the “Made Since 1982” is stamped on the back, but I think I’ll wait a while for that.

If you’d like to see swatches of Medium Tan or the other shades, let me know. I can always use another excuse to go to the mall, haha!

You know how it is. 🙂

I really wasn’t a fan of the new MSF packaging but I gotta admit I kind of like these! Only problem is that it looks bulkier than the old ones, would love to see swatches/comparisons of the new shades!

Although it does look a little bulkier, I like the look of the powder compact. It looks modern to me. But though I like MAC, I’m not a die-hard MAC fan as others are… so I don’t know if my opinion counts 😉

I love the new packaging. Seems sleek & sophisticated- and perhaps shatter-proof. But you had me at “no oxidizing.” Really?!

Swatch other shades puh-leeze! Can’t for the life in me deal with oxidizing foundations! I’m NC50, for reference.

Yeah, I know! I’ve been having oxidizing issues lately so I’m glad to have found this shade. I’ve always liked the line (I use Give Me Sun as a bronzer) but have never been able to find anything around the NC42 range.

I’ll make plans to stop by the mall to swatch this week. 🙂

It looks a bit more bulky but I like it! It looks way better than the new MSF packaging lol. It’s going to take me a little while to get used to those

Noooooo, I’m miss the clear lids! I have a few of these compacts and without the clear lid I’m going to forever have to be turning them over to read which one is which. They do also appear to be a bit chunkier that the originals. Boohoo 🙁

I like the concept of including the mirror, but they didn’t have to make the compact so monstrously large (there’s an oxymoron for ya). MAC should be putting out sleeker packaging than this!

    *shrug* 🙂

I think the new packaging looks very sleek and snazzy, but I can see how it would be a bit irritating if you owned more than one, and had to start flipping them over to see the shade names!

Looks like it’s time to bust out the label maker if you want to collect these. I think the packaging is more practical on the whole though.

    Hey Karen,
Would you be able to review the new shades MAC came out with? Only because I am NC42 and use a combo of Medium Dark and Medium Deep in order to get a shade that matches. I’d like to see on a review to see if any of the newer shades work better (are they more pink or yellow type of thing)
    Thanks

      Hi GiGi,

I plan to swatch them later on this week and will also add in a few thoughts. 🙂 If you’re an NC42 you might like the shade pictured here, Medium Tan. I’m also NC 42 and this is slightly lighter than Medium Dark and more yellow than red (at least on my skin).

Would love to see comparison swatches of the deeper shades!
I know how much it would pain you to have to visit the mall 🙂
If you get a chance to swatch the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancers that would be awesome.

I recently picked this up in Medium Deep and it looks just beautiful on top of my MAC BB Cream. I love it.

I’ve been using this product DAILY for YEARS and then I guess I have to see the packaging in person to determine if I like it as much as the old packaging. Is it bulkier? Hmm. I’m hoping they didn’t change my color (Medium).

I mean yeah, I like the older packaging but I LOVE the stuff inside regardless. These are more convenient as well with the mirror.

Eugh- not a fan at all of the new packaging. The new formula of the new powders feels good; but I’m really disappointed with the new formula of Soft and Gentle…. the glitter almost seems chunky :'(

I like this new packaging for the Mineralize Skinfinish Naturals – I always seemed to look at the lid of my original one expecting to find a mirror!

Hate the new packaging, it’s bulkier and harder to open, my fingers keep sliding! I’m going to try to see if anyone has the old packaging still and stock up.

I use the medium dark for the msf powder but am looking to buy the mac face and body foundation! I was wondering what shade you use in the mac face and body! I am debating on C3 or C4!
