…I’ve got rosemary.
The previous owner planted three rosemary bushes in the front yard, and now they’re out of control. I like it fine as an herb, but I’m not a ho for it like I am for basil.
Got any ideas for things to do with rosemary? Other than fish and potato dishes, I have no clue.
P.S. Remember the catnip plant my neighbor’s Russian Blue destroyed? That’s it in the upper right. It’s still hangin’ on!

Rosemary’s really good with chicken. Just a bit of olive oil, pepper and lots of fresh rosemary then pop it in the oven. Maybe some garlic salt to taste, if that’s your preference. 🙂

Rosemary plants will continue to spread unless you contain them in a pot! I would dig them up and put a small amount in a nice pot to use as an herb for cooking. You have a beautiful pink coneflower plant in the back of your garden, add some more perennials and enjoy!

Mixed nuts appetizer – mix some butter – brown sugar – cayenne pepper – salt optional – and chopped ROSEMARY fresh from your plant (mine is huge, too but it stays green in AZ with no water so that is a big LUV – keep it pruned)
Mix with a can or two of nuts (any kind you like) warm it up in 350 degree oven don’t brown stir and serve warm, Hope you like it!

World’s biggest rosemary ho here. Infuse it into simple syrup, mix with soda water and a splash of lime. Heaven!!

OK- this kinda fits into the ‘fish’ category, but it’s SO GOOD! If you’ve never tried it, you’re missing out! A local restaurant makes it and serves it over mashed taters (personal fave)- my mom makes it too and likes it with french bread.
WARNING: I won’t be held responsible for what this recipe does to anyone watching their weight. It’s addictive and full of butter and some (mostly optional) carbs. Haha!

I love rosemary! In fact, it is my favorite herb.
My mom makes a really simple marinade of fresh rosemary and italian salad dressing for chicken (thighs work best, but you can use breasts), which she then bakes in the oven until they are a nice golden brown. Along with the chicken she serves roasted potatoes that are sprinkled with a little bit of parmesan cheese, garlic, olive oil, and some salt & cracked pepper (add these ingredients prior to roasting). Mmm 🙂
I also like to make orange rosemary olive oil cake, it is soooo delicious!

When Christmas comes, use it in decorations, such as wreaths, centerpieces, etc. Put it in a satchel and place in drawers or closets. The smell is amazing so use it!

Ooooo lamb roasts! Get a leg of lamb, some rosemary, a couple of cloves of garlic and a sharp knife. Now go wild poking holes in to the leg of lamb and stuffing slivers of garlic and rosemary into them! Finish off by rubbing the whole outside of the leg with olive oil and whatever left over garlic and rosemary there is. Amazingly delicious 🙂
