Urban Decay Urban Lash HBIC Babies…or Adventures in False Lashes

So, full strip falsies are usually the easiest to apply, but I heard somewhere that false lash trios are supposed to be easier to apply than individual false lash bundles, and they’re another easy way to dial up ‘ze lash drama.

But I dunno… I feel like my lashes look a little cray-cray in these pictures.

Maybe I’m just used to seeing my regular lashes on the daily??

These particular bundles are the HBIC Babies from UD’s Urban Lash line ($15, which gets you an entire tray of them in different lengths), and if you look closely, you can see that some of the trios have not one, but two, layers of lashes.

You can either separate them or keep them stacked…

I kept them stacked.

Anywho, this was my first time using lash trios, and it was easier than I expected. I like that I can put them on top of already curled lashes (which is usually hard for me to do when I’m using strip lashes). They’re so light that I can barely feel them on my lash line. Plus, Urban Decay’s lash glue is THE BEST. It’s easy to remove, doesn’t smell like rotting fish (which is what Duo Lash Glue smells like to me), and it feels fab on my lashes. If they sold it in an individual tube, I would hoard that ish, for real.

I’m definitely going to wear these again — heck, maybe even tomorrow! But next time I’m going to stick to wearing the shortest ones in the tray… The longer ones are a little OTT for me.

Karen

Can you cut down the longer ones? Or are they thicker in the middle and taper to the ends, so if they’re cut they’d look weird and stubby?

These do look cute in pics. They also look “bundled,” which of course they are! I’m undecided on the “trio of tufts” look. But the easy application might make up for that!and maybe the shorter ones would look more uniform. (Though the tufty look is prob mod and I don’t know it, haha!)

      Hi Amy,

They’re longer in the middle but I don’t think the bundles are thicker. I guess I could probably cut them down so the center isn’t as long? Hmm! Never thought to do that. How are you with applying lashes? I’m OK if the lash band is thin and I’ve got good glue.

Yaaaaas – why does the DUO glue have to smell like that? So foul. I may have to try these out.

Duo smells so funky. It’s not just you! For a long time I thought I kept buying bad tubes, but alas, they seem to all smell like that. I really wish Urban Decay sold their glue separately because it’s the best one.

How have you been?! I’m so ready for Friday. The baby learned recently how to have tantrums. BOY HAS THAT BEEN A HOOT.

I rarely wear false lashes, but I think these triplets look cute. Very anime

I’ve never give tiny falsies locks a try but I should do it!
The UD lashes are magical, I can notice how easier to wear and sport they are than regular false lashes are!!! 😉
I love how they look on you !

      Hi Valentina,

I’d love to hear about which UD falsies you like the most. 🙂 Have you ever tried Eylure? They’re great too!

I kinda like the look of these on you. Very “going out on the town” dramatic. How does the UD glue compare to the Eylure glue? I have a set of Eylure strip lashes that came with glue, but haven’t tried them out yet. Seems like I never have the right occasion to wear them or I have the occasion and not enough time to apply them. Coz I’m slow like that when doing eye makeup.

I like the Eylure one too but prefer the UD version because it stays on better. I also like how it’s kind of holographic, LOL! It sounds silly but it makes it easier to see it on the strip for some reason.

Which Eylures do you have? I love almost every pair I’ve tried but I always, always have to trim them down because they’re so long.

I have an easier time with trios than strip lashes!

I think I’d like them more for the outside. Though the tufts are very asian looking, I wonder if that young, flushed, popsicle mouth eastern look is where they got idea.

No, it’s not just you – I think the tufts look clumpy (and I’m sure it wasn’t your application). I’m for full on feather from corner to corner. HAHA!

Btw, I saw your comment about tantrums above. Don’t worry – it’s usually just a phase (like screaming NO and MINE; or just screaming). 🙂 I hope the rash cleared up OK. That can make babies cranky, too. Please don’t tell Connor Claire that I still think of her as a baby!!

I actually really like the way these look on you. I’ve never been to apply false lashes, but I’m determined to learn! These lashes are definitely on my list now!!!
