Some of the Softest Summer Sandals to Ever Caress Yo’ Feet! The Sam Edelman Dana Sandal (On Sale Now at Nordstrom)

May 21st, 2014 by Karen 16 Comments

I think I need to get out more because I’ve been forgetting to turn on my verbal censor lately, perhaps due to the fact that my coworker of the past seven years is a cat.

At Nordstrom earlier today for that sale I mentioned I tried on a pair of Sam Edelman Dana sandals (originally $99.95, marked down to $59.90), and when I took them out of the box and slipped them onto my feet, I said, “Sooo soft!” much too loudly, and to no one in particular.

There was a lady next to me trying on shoes who looked over and started laughing.

“I’m so sorry,” I said. “I think I must be overcome with shoe ecstasy or something. HAHA!”

I usually stay away from shoes like these because the straps dig into my feet, but these are super soft suede, and the low heel makes them easy to walk in.

I wish they had a bit more arch support, though, and I’m slightly concerned about my pinky toe getting all squished up in the strap, but it’s not like I’m going to be running a marathon in them or anything.

Should be alright.

I love the little details, like the sweet zipper in the back and the geometric cutouts around the ankle.

For years, I was strictly a high heels girl, and I still am to a degree, but truth be told, I am utterly over shoes that hurt my feet. Now I’m trying to embrace flats, even though they make me feel hella tiny.

I like flats with some personality, too, and these say, “Yeah, I’m a tough girl who goes to the farmers’ market!” to me.

I think they’d look cute with shorts or a summer dress. 🙂

In addition to the black shade, they also come in tan and coral (CUTE). You can find them now at Nordstrom stores and online at nordrstrom.com.

Have you found any good shoes lately? High heels or flats?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

At 1/2″ shy of five feet tall, I’ve never been one for high heels. I figure I’d need stilts to be a more “average” height. =P. I did have this one pair of platform boots that I wore to death; I wouldnt mind finding another pair sometime.

The sandals look nice! The back zipper makes it a no for me though.

Also, as a blue polish fan, I need to know what polish you’re wearing on your toes.

I have been dying to purchase a pair of Sam Edelman sandals! I want the Gigi sandals. They’re super simple, but dressy enough to wear with just about anything. Plus, I’ve heard that Sam Edelman sandals are pretty durable. 🙂

Sam Edelman sandals are on my “to buy” list eventually. I’ve purchased far too many pairs of shoes lately. My most recent great find was a pair from Payless, which looked almost exactly like Zigi Soho ones. The Payless pair were less than 1/3 the price than the original inspirations, so I went for them and they turned out to be super-comfortable.

Well just a tip, had sandals like these in the past, Stay away from the sun. Or you will walk with a kind of strange stripped tan

Love your shoes did they also have it with black cats?

I would definitely go for much more arch support, and a tiny, tiny bit more heel, but they are super cute! 🙂

If you need a flat sandal with arch support Nordies is great. Try Ecco!

    YES KAREN,
COME OVER TO THE FLATS SIDE.

    hahaha just kidding 😉

I think these are cute too. I agree, I’d be more interested if they had more arch support and cushioning. BUT still flat. Completely zero-drop, flat.

I’m looking for shoes too. Work shoes, sandals, and rock climbing shoes. Ugh, it’s too much!! I dislike buying shoes a lot because I have wide feet and I demand a lot of comfort, support, and for them to be flat. I always put off buying shoes because I don’t like it…

I’ve been wearing some Lucky Brand sandals with a short chunky heel. I bought them in both black and tan. I also have some higher heeled Via Spiga sandals I got on super clearance at Nordstrom Rack (Down from $230 to $45!). Love them.

Karen! those shoes are rockin!! I can’t do ‘gladiator’ heels but otherwise I’d be all over them… To keep anything strappy from digging into my feet especially if my feet swell in the heat, I put a little vaseline on my feet anywhere the straps would be. This keeps the straps from suctioncupping to your skin. 🙂

One – I envy small people. I’m 5’6 and always wanted to be around 5’2 or 5’3. Not sure why. I just always feel I’m taller than I’m supposed to be.
Two – I have hella love for ANY girl that photographs her Vans shoes (I LOVE VANS), especially when they have cat faces all over. You rock out loud. Vans cat shoes and a smokey eye and 80s rock star hair…You get the pic. Make it so, Number 1. 😀

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
