These Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blushes Are My Latest Drugstore Beauty Infatuation

The Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blushes

Close your eyes, and imagine your favorite, coziest, most comfortable sweatshirt. How warm and soft it feels…

Now, you step out of the shower. Ooh! — the tiles are cold, and you reach over and grab your glorious sweatshirt, then pull it on over your head. Then you put your arms through the sleeves.

Ah… So soft and snuggly.

OK, basically, these powder blushes feel like that! 🙂

My goodness, they’re soft.

(How soft are they?)

Well, if you, like me, have clumsy Shrek hands early in the morning and you attempt to open one of these, try not to accidentally jab it with a nail, because you’ll probably take out a huge divot. That’s how incredibly creamy and soft they are.

According to Neutrogena, they have a gel base, which is supposed to make the application smoother.

It does. They’re extremely easy to blend, and kind of like the Clinique Cheek Pops in how they skate across the skin. It’s like surfing when the water’s glassy; they just glide… I usually apply a layer or two on the apples of my cheeks, and then do a couple swipes to erase the edges.

This particular line of blushes is pretty new, and there are five shades. Neutrogena is better known for their skin and body care products, but they also make some good makeup (like these). Generally, I think the brand’s blushes and bronzers are great.

Because the brand is all about natural-looking makeup, all of the colors have that vibe. “Who me? No, I’m not wearing any makeup. I just went outside for a brisk walk.” 🙂

I really like wearing these. I mostly use 40 Bronze as a bronzer, and then I’ll jump between neutral pink 20 Vibrant, coral pink 30 Flushed and light golden pink 10 Rosy as blushes.

The last shade, pinkish beige 50 Luminous, is a little light for my tan skin, so sometimes I’ll use it as a highlighter.

Strangely, even when I’m feeling under the weather (like I felt earlier this week), when I use these, I feel like I look healthy.

Also in the plus column: these last an incredibly long time. I can put one of them on in the morning at 8 o’clock and still see it on my cheeks after feeding Tabs at the end of the day. That’s pretty great, especially considering that each one only costs $8.49.

If you’re interested, you can find all five shades online now and at most drugstores.

Karen

These seem absolutely amazing! I’ve been a bit hesitant in trying these since I once got a bronzer from Neutrogena that was extremely glittery, but all of these look amazing! Thanks for this post xx

Holy wow… These are beautiful. I love a good drug store haul. What brush do you recommend for these? (P.S. you should totally do a top favorite brushes post!)

I am always skeptical of drugstore blushes as I like my blush to stay on all day but the way you have described these, I might be tempted to check them out. I actually love the look of that highlighter!

Rosy, Luminous, and Flushed look great for me. I normally don’t go for a drugstore blush. I know Milani makes some nice ones but these look like they have nice formula. Not quite a nuanced as some higher end shades but perfect for everyday!

It’s been awhile since I’ve tried a Neutrogena blush! These definitely look worthwhile, especially for how long-lasting they are and that price point sure doesn’t hurt either. 😉 I think Vibrant might be my fave. 🙂 You look absolutely radiant in that cheek combo girl!

Such a lovely & glowing look on you! I don’t know why I haven’t tried Neutrogena’s cosmetics yet because I love their skincare; I certainly will add them to my “must try” list.

Karen, am I going crazy, or did I just see you in the audience at the Meredith Show? LOL! No kidding. I just saw someone in the audience that was YOU! I kept thinking, wait, is the Meredith show filmed in California or New York… but apparently it’s New York, so, I don’t think it was you but, I just thought I would ask. Haha!

OK, I need to find this twin of mine! Apparently she’s all over the place. Walking around in Spain one minute and in the audience of a talk show the next, LOL!

Prolly too light for me but I do love that they’re super easy to blend & have a bit of a gel-like consistency.

These look nice! And glad they last. I’ve tried Neutrogena healthy mascara before and liked it. I’ll look for these in the stores.

I’m glad to hear you’re feeling better and, you’re 100% right, a little blush always makes me look healthier, too (or at least less like the Walking Dead when I’m under the weather). Speaking of, have you watched Fear the Walking Dead at all? I’m not sure if I can keep watching – it makes me grit my teeth because pretty much every character is so unlikable! 🙁

The gel base sounds interesting! I’ve always trusted Neutrogena with my face makeup so I’ll have to pick these up!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
