Is Rosy Beige Nude Milani Lipstick in Enchanted Topaz a Gem?

September 18th, 2014 by Karen 15 Comments

Milani Enchanted Topaz

Milani Enchanted Topaz

I am captivated by the thought of an enchanted topaz — this Enchanted Topaz, Milani’s new $6.49 matte nude lipstick for fall because, hello, I’m the girl with five or six nude lippies in her purse at any given time. 🙂

I like how this rosy beige nude looks on my lips, especially when I wear it with a dramatic smokey eye, but I have a hard time with the texture… A dry, powdery matte, it’s unforgiving on any flaky areas of my lips (not a problem if I apply a layer of moisturizing gloss on top).

Topaz is one of three matte lipsticks in the new Milani fall Bedazzled collection. There’s also a purple shade called Enchanted Amethyst and a deep wine called Enchanted Ruby, and all of them are available now for a limited time at CVS and Walgreens stores.

The color is nice for smoky eyes but it looks quite powdery and dry on the lips unfortunately!

Though it has flaws, I still love the look of this shade on you!

Too bad about the finish and the feel, because the color really does suit you.

Not that I’m tempted by nude lippies for myself but the texture would definitely kill it for me. It does look really nice on you, though. Oh, and Happy Friday!

This is a great color! Thanks for mentioning the texture. My lips get dry easily but I think this would look pretty paired with a moisturizing gloss.

Would love to try this! Unfortunately my local Walgreens isn’t the best at stocking Milani products/LE collections, but I’ll have to swing by and check. Was thinking of buying MAC’s Honeylove as a new nude lipstick but this could be a good alternative!

Gorgeous shade but I’m really not a fan of dry matte textures so while this is gorgeous, I think I’ll pass for now! Great review!

I love this color on you! I was hoping it wouldn’t be dry and powdery looking though. Now I’m a little nervous to try mine

That colour looks very nice on you! Too bad about the texture, though.

I have the same problem with many matte lipsticks. And adding a lipgloss over the top helps with the feeling, but destroys the matte…

I’ve been looking for the new bedazzled lipsticks from Milani but haven’t spotted them yet. I really want the enchanted amethyst one. Nude lipsticks never do me any favors, although I like them on others.

Is the enchanted topaz a dupe for MAC’s enchanted one from the aquatic collection ???

The colour is a great nude on you! I’m kind of sad about the finish though – it looks *so* dry and chalky 🙁 Mind you, I’m not usually one for matte lipsticks anyway, so I probably have a stronger reaction to dryness in them, LOL! 😛

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
