Looks interesting in the pan… lovely colour for an eyeshadow and it seems really smooth and creamy. Can’t wait for face swatches and review!!!

Wow, contour for your face? I thought it was an eye shadow. I wonder how that looks on vs my brownish contour powder.

Talk about a strange color for contouring…

Contours are supposed to have greyish undertones. They mimick shadows, as such to look natural, they need to have grey undertones. A lot of people use bronzer to contour their cheeks. However, bronzers are too warm for contouring. I will say that this shade seems a little too grey to me.

I don’t think it is too weird. I know NYX blush in taupe is popular for contouring. I have never tried it though.

I’m not sure it’s available at all Chanel counters. I called the Belk and Saks in my area yesterday and they both said that they are not getting it.

If anyone knows where I can find it, I’d love to know. Thanks!

Sorry, I meant to write select Chanel counters. Up until a few days ago it was also online…seems like they removed it. You may need to try Chanel counters outside of your area.

So far the best contour product I have found is the bronzer by Edward Bess. No shimmer, no sparkle, and no orange.

is this the best color to use for the pale kids to contour with?

      Hi Sarah,

I’ve seen it on pale skin and it looks really pretty. You do have to blend it out a ton though if you want the most natural look.

The perfect contour for cooler-toned ladies! I wish it was permanent – I know I won’t be able to buy it this time around, but I really do love it.

I can see why its not the most marketable colour, though!

Oh my! I’ve been wanting this product soooo bad! I went to two different Chanel counters to purchase this product (as it’s sold out on Chanel’s site). Neither of the MA’s knew what this product was :-\

Can’t wait to see what you think of it.

I’d be really interested to try this out on my fair-skinned self…but $43 isn’t in the budget. ):
Do you have any suggestions for a cheaper contouring powder for someone with porcelain-toned skin?

The color reminds me of the NYX Taupe Blush I use for contouring (if I use a powder – I generally prefer creams for contouring!) But, it is more gorgeous and glam, of course, considering it’s Chanel. I’ll be hitting up the counter this weekend, they got the mascara in!

I called all my Chanel counters, and they said it was online and boutique exclusive. I went to my boutique and got one along with a free new mascara sample, and I like it enough to get another!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
