Beam Me Up, Scotty

August 31st, 2009 by Karen 12 Comments

Lately I’ve been really enjoying Benefit’s liquid highlighters, Moon Beam ($24) and High Beam ($24). Have you tried these?

high beam used to be a staple for me until i got NARS multiples (copacabana, orgasm). it really is a great highlighter, with a soft focus effect.

moon beam is too yellow for me, however.

I have not tried these highlighters, as I usually prefer the stick variety – much less mess and nil product wastage!

They appear to be nice colours, though!

I had them both and really liked them. Not sure why I haven’t repurchased them or what happened to them. I think they may be in my sister’s make up stash. Some of my goodies tend to end up there. =)

I really liked Moon Beam, it worked with my skin tone and applied easily, but I don’t really like the packaging. I’m clumsy and normally after I’ve knocked something like this over once, half of the product ends up all over my bathroom counter.

I used to really like high beam too and like Ines I switched to Nars Multiple in Copacabana, I prefer the texture of this and it looks great on the eyelids too. High beam was a little too sparkly, the Nars gives a lovely less obvious glow.

Hello there! I haven’t tried either of the two since Benefit’s not available, but I do have Posie Tint, which a cousin brought me. It’s very pretty, a lovely flush of pink!

Love High Beam! A little goes a long way, I usually only use it on bigger nights out so I’ve had mine forever. I’m super fair so it works better for me than Moon Beam. Just a touch (over liquid or mineral powder foundation, works well with either) on the tops of the cheekbones and under the outer half of the eyebrow does wonders. Sometimes I even do a dab at the corners of the eyes.

I use moon beam on photo shoots all the time. The lighting will just hit it perfect and look so glowing over foundation, but under blush and bronzer. I use a foundation brush to apply it so it diffuses it just a bit! Love it!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
