There are SOOOO many reasons for me not to wear white shirts.
Like cat hair.
Baby food, which is like Liam Neeson in Taken. IT WILL FIND YOU.
And makeup, of course, especially foundation.
Even before Tabs and Connor came along, I was never the type of person who could wear a white shirt without getting loads of foundation all over the place, but it’s never stopped me, which is why I was shocked to discover after wearing this epic new COVERGIRL liquid foundation a few times, coincidentally on days when I was wearing white shirts (go figure) that there was absolutely NO foundation on my clothes at the end of the day.

Like, none. Not even a smudge of foundation on my neckline, WHICH IS TOTALLY UNUSUAL FOR ME.
Since I’m pretty sure that my body hasn’t been taken over by aliens (yet), I think it’s safe to say that it’s the COVERGIRL foundation, which doesn’t go anywhere once it’s on your face.
Before finding this drugstore gem, the only liquid face base I knew of with this magnitude of staying power was MAC Face & Body. Trublend Matte Made has Face & Body’s mega-magnetic staying power, but the finish is matte instead of instead of dewy. But it isn’t so matte that your skin looks fake or weird when you put it on, ya know?
“From your favorite COVERGIRL foundation line comes a matte formula that isn’t drying or cakey. TruBlend Matte Made’s formula is developed with flexi-hold technology that creates a strong, yet flexible film on skin for durability and comfort, while the mattifying powders absorb oil and minimize pores for a soft matte, flawless finish. Up to 12 hours of wear. 12 HR comfort matte.
Pore minimizing. Oil control. Transfer resistant. All in 40 shades.”

The coverage perfectly evens everything out and blurs pores juust a bit, so you can still see the occasional freckle (OH, HAI).
If you need/want to, however, you can go full-on with it or sheer it out even further, too. It’s easy to do with the pump, which requires no tomfoolery or shenanigans to get as little or as much as you want out of the glass bottle. And if your skin gets darker or lighter at different times of year, you don’t even have to feel guilty about picking up another shade, ’cause 1) it’s only $9 at Target, and 2) it comes in a staggering 40 shades. (Side note: thank goodness for the Fenty effect).
Other drugstore foundations I swear by…
- Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Tint — Sheer to medium coverage with a demi-matte finish
- L’Oreal True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Foundation — A dewy finish with medium coverage.
At the moment, I’m slightly tanner than my usual NC42, and T15 Golden Honey works for me. Oh, and while this foundation handles my combination skin well, if you’re very oily and/or prefer flat matte finishes, you may either want to skip this entirely, or enlist the help of your favorite blotting powder (I’m a fan of MAC Blot).
It’s good.
Great, even.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
You’re look so beautiful and glowy! And the eyelet top is super cute.
Here’s to keeping makeup stains off our clothes etc. I’m a compulsive swatcher so following a traumatic lipstick stain incident in 2017 I never leave home without one of those Tide sticks. Also super
Thanks, Mia. It’s from Loft from a couple seasons ago! It’s one of my faves when it’s hot out because it’s so breezy.
Anywho, I can’t live without those Tide pens either. 🙂
Ah! I didn’t realize I hit sent before completing my sentence. Meant to say they’re also super useful when you have a toddler around. Good to know you’re a fan, too 😉
I’m on the dry side but am still hella curious!
Your review has my interest piqued! I am definitely going to try this! LOL you make me giggle, I feel your pain about baby food though! I gots two babes and there’s no way I can stay clean any more! Oh lawd.
You’re right about the white tops. I always get dressed after I do my hair and makeup so there’s an excellent chance of getting some bb cream stains on a white shirt. It used to be just as bad with white deodorant stains on dark shirts – thank goodness for the new invisible formulas. 🙂
I’ve read that this foundation oxidizes like crazy. Have you had that problem? Transfer issues. UGH! I have this white winter coat that I love but the collar ALWAYS shows my foundation. Dare I try this foundation when I’m wearing that coat? lol. I did buy this foundation (actually 2 shades, to figure out which one was for me) at CVS using crazy coupons and paid next to nothing for them.
