Younger Cheeks in 28 Days? Fusion Beauty SculptDiva Blush Says Yes!

July 13th, 2010 by Karen 23 Comments

fusion beauty sculptdiva review
Fusion Beauty SculptDiva Blush in Crave

Back in the day (um, like, the ’80s and ’90s), most gals got their anti-aging benefits through skincare products, but today lines like Fusion Beauty are pushing the anti-aging envelope with makeup.

For the patient beauty lover, the company’s new cream-to-powder SculptDiva blushes are supposed to plump cheeks over a period of 28 days, diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles through more supple-looking cheeks.

Their not-so-secret ingredient? Amplifat.

Yep, that’s what they call it. 🙂

I think each of the colors — Bella (a pinkish brown) Cherub (a dusty rose), Crave (a shimmering apricot) and Haute (a sheer pink rose) — look pretty wearable. I’ve just started road testing two of them, Crave and Haute, using my fingers to apply and blend, and both have been easy to use (read: blend quickly), delivering a natural-looking cheek flush I like.

But it’s a good thing the lil’ pots are small enough to keep in a purse, since the colors significantly fade after about four hours on my skin and have to be reapplied.

As for the anti-aging claims, I’ll keep you posted. In this case, the fact that these don’t last all day long on my skin undermines my desire to keep using them for the rest of the month, but we’ll see. I’ll let you know if/when I notice a difference. Available at Sephora stores and online at sephora.com.

Are you familiar with Fusion Beauty and/or SculptDiva Blush? What do you think?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

They say it plumps up cheeks and diminishes fine lines!

Would be strange to have plump cheeks and crows feet? 😉

I bet we are going to see more products like this – fusion of make-up and skincare. i can’t wait for these multitaskers! but it’s going to be a tough combination since skincare = absorbs into skin and make-up = stay ontop skin

I want a concealer that covers up my dark circles and diminishes the fine lines. That would be the shizz.

    Amplifat? Hmmm…I’m not sure that’s a name I would have chosen! 🙂

They do look very pretty and I’ve been having good luck with my Clinique cream blush, but needing to reapply is a deal-killer for me. Then again, it’s been so darn hot here for weeks that I think my cheeks are permanently flushed, so I probably wouldn’t notice!

What’s the weather like out your way? It’s been sunny here, but a comfy 80 degrees.

Oh, you’re lucky! It’s been killer here for about 2 weeks. High 90s and VERY high humidity. We’re in the snow-belt in the farthest northeast corner of NY state, so we’re not used to this!

Crave looks very pretty and natural. It’s a shame it doesn’t last longer though.

Good idea in theory but I remember watching a tv special about anti-aging makeup and the specialist said it was just a waste of money and they never work to the point of seeing a difference. Too many things packed into one product maybe? I would be interested to see if you notice a difference in 28 days!

Or maybe it doesn’t stay long enough on the skin to penetrate?

Yeah, Amplifat sounds pretty unappealing. But the colors are really pretty and the concept is interesting. Can’t wait to see if it works. If it does, I may just put it all over my face and be a lovely, unwrinkled pink!

That is a very lovely colour in the pan. I wonder if you use it as an eyeshadow, would it help with fine lines on the eyelid, since the blush is supposed to have anti-aging benefits.
