Yes to Carrots Lip Tints Say YES to Affordable Lip Color

Just a quick note to say hi, ladies. I fell behind this afternoon, but I still wanted to tell you about Yes to Carrots’ line of pigmented C Me Blush Lip Tints.

Sunset Pink

They cost a mere $4.50 each (that’s my mid-morning latte, yo!) but have a super smooth, buttery texture that makes ’em feel a lot more expensive than that.

Ready Red

Texture-wise they remind me of the $22 Guava lipsticks by Korres. That’s how slick and creamy they feel.

My favorite thing about them? — how pigmented they are (for lip tints). These puppies pack *lots* of color, applying with semi-sheer to medium coverage.

The resulting lip’s a casual look that I can see myself wearing a lot on weekends or to the gym.

Natural Smile

According to Yes to Carrots, a company known for organic beauty products, the ingredients are 95% natural. Scanning down the list, I see different organic plant oils, extracts, natural moisturizers (like Shea butter and beeswax) and very few unpronounceable chemicals, which is always nice. 🙂

Cotton Candy

I’m lovin’ that they don’t contain phenols or petroleum-based chemicals — compounds that, ironically, can actually dry lips. No need to worry about getting sucked into a cycle of lip balm dependency (I hate those).

I mentioned that each of the six wearable shades run $4.50 apiece — already a great deal — but I’ve also seem them sold in three-packs for around $5. I think at that price (what’s that, like $1.67 each?!) they’re a flat-out steal.

Not exactly the easiest products to track down online, but I know my local Tar-ghay carries ’em, so check your store for availability. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: A+

What do you think of these colors? Do any catch your eye?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Oh GIRL. I’m getting these tomorrow. I love tinted lip balms, cuz I’m lazy as hell lately. Alma Organics, Burt’s, Neutrogena’s discontinued liptints (grrr), I digs you all. Thanks for the tip!

      Hi Heyhey,

Sure thing. I’ve been super lazy in the lip department and these do the trick nicely. I hope you love ’em.

They have a light peppermint scent and flavor — it goes away fast after application!

Wow! Good deal much? What color would look good on small thin lips, normally pale skin (just sunless tanned), and blonde hair?

      Hi Sarah,

I’d go with a lighter or nude shade — probably Sunset Pink or Cotton Candy. 🙂

I love the first two, but do I really need another red and another pink? I have a sheer, a matte, a creamy one…for the few times I wear red, I sure have a lot of red lippies. It’s like pink lipgloss with me–I can never have too few. I don’t think I actually own a berry or anything that isn’t pink, pinkey-beige, clear or nude. I own one nude, I think.

Do these smell and taste that funky overly-fake mint scent/flavor (or any scent/flavor for that matter) like other Say Yes to Carrots stuff? There is nothing my brain hates more than fake mint smell.

It has a light peppermint scent and taste that disappears quickly.

    Sarah,

Any of the tints would look great on you, except Natural Smile and Chocolate Kiss – they may wash you out. The best would be Sunset Pink for day and Ready Red for a more dramatic look. 🙂

    Hope I helped!

Thank you so much for posting about natural makeup products. I am on a mission to go all natural and it has not been easy. I’ve been looking for lipcolor without petrochemicals and these sound perfect! And you can’t beat that price. I am actually going to Target later today so hopefully I’ll find these. 🙂
