Each of the five powder eyeshadows in the new $22 JK Jemma Kidd Smoke It Up I-Kit are so easy to blend that they could have been made by KitchenAid! — and with loads of pigment, they look and perform just like Jemma’s fab fall full-size shadows (which usually run $16 apiece).
The result is an affordable palette able to produce some of the quickest, easiest smokey eyes I’ve seen this fall. With lesser shadows, blending out the edges and layering darker shades can take (me) forever, but with the I-Kit I can bang out a smokey look in less than 10 minutes.
The shadows seem to lean toward the cool side of the color spectrum, so if you feel like you wear cool-toned shades well, that could be a good reason to give ’em a go. Keep a few makeup wipes handy, though, as I have noticed a bit of fallout from the darker shades.
PRICE: $22

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Now THAT sounds good! I’ve cool undertones and I’ve the blending ability of a possum. Grmpf to the fallout though, that stuff drives me crazy.. Need to check out the palette for that price, I’ll add that to my next SpaceNK trip!
It’s just a wee little bit, Advah! If you use a flat brush and a good primer you shouldn’t get much.
Will check it out when I get my NARS primer tomorrow. 🙂 So you definitely recommend the NARS one over UD Potion?
I don’t know if it’s the change of season, but I have crazy makeup envy lately!
These look like they’re easy colours to wear and blend, but none of them really wow me. Thank you for swatching these, Karen! 🙂 I know it’s a lot of work, and you do a great job.

You’re welcome. 🙂 And yup, they are super easy to wear!
oh what a lovely palette! kinda cool toned but w/ a warm base, it can totally work!
it reminds me of a bobbi brown palette, somehow!
Good call, Nina. It does feel Bobbi-esque. How are you doing today? Is it Friday yet? LOL
Thursday is actually my favorite day since its almost the weekend LOL.
im good, we’re finally getting some rain, so that’s a relief!
Okay, I really like this. The price is awesome, especially when you consider how much single eye shadows of Jemma Kidd cost at Target. I think I’d like it even better if it was….colorful. 😉

Oh yeah! A colorful version of this would be awesome.
I’m saving all my shadow money for surgery to correct my drooping lids. OK, I’m not really, but I think I should be! 🙂
Haha! You would definitely like the silver in this… sparkly!
Yeah, it looks awesome. I was surprised by how white the first swatch was. It looks sort of beige in the pan but, whoa, in the swatch! 🙂
Gorgeous! This is right up my alley. I’m adding this to my never-ending list of things to buy at Target. 🙂
Haha, I know what you mean. I just added a couple things to mine today, too (soaps from Burt’s Bees, some headbands…).
I like warm tones, but i could still see myself using this. 🙂
Yah! I was really surprised by this one. I thought it might be too cool at first, but it’s very wearable once you get it on.
Gorgeous look! 🙂 I always like palettes that expedite my makeup routine, and this one looks right up my alley!

You just might love this one, then. 🙂
Amazingly neutral colors but I still love the UD NAked palette!! I would prefer these colors for teachin office makeup though!

You can’t go wrong with that palette. This one’s a nice option too, though!
Thank you for the swatches Karen! This is really a good palette. So many looks can be created out of this, from natural to smoky eye.
You’re welcome, Pearl! Have you worn JK Jemma Kidd before? Her shadows are great. 🙂
I thought you’re warm-toned, but you look really lovely with these cool-toned colors! Beautiful :).

Karen,
I have got to say, your hair looks gorgeous with bangs, and these two pic s of you look fantastic. You look gorgeous!
If I had hair like yours, I would wear bangs, too, trouble or not! You really rock the look!
Hi Karen! Beautiful on you. How did you find the wear time of the shadows? (did you try them with or without primer too?) Just want to get an idea how long I can go without getting a greasy crease, lol.
Oh, and also, do you have the ingredients used for this kit?
