Victoria Beckham X Estée Lauder Strikes Again! It’s Coming Back This Month!

Damn, V-Becks! Why you gotta do me like that? Why you gotta make my makeup dreams come true? Just kidding. 🙂 Thank you!

VB is back with new makeup! Her Victoria Beckham X Estée Lauder makeup collection is being re-released this month (you can sign up here to get alerted when it goes live) with the same products from her collection last fall, along with a new bronzer called Saffron Sun and a new nude lipstick called Nude Spice.

One of the items is available meow, the $95 Morning Aura Illuminating Cream, which is supposed to be an amazing change-yo’-life makeup primer.

Um…I may or may not have it in my cart right now. I’m contemplating whether I should pull the trigger.

Anywho, I tried a few things from the collection when it first launched last fall and lost my damn mind. I tried a few more of them this week, and, not surprisingly, they’re fab.

Oh, and before we get into it, can I just say that my hair is making me insane in these pics? I can’t take my bangs anymore.

At least they’re a good excuse to show you VB’s $45 Eye Metal in Bitter Clove on my lids.

Gorgeous, right? Bitter Clove is a warm, dark, densely pigmented, glittery golden brown that looks almost like a liquid metal/glossy hybrid when it’s applied wet, which is how I’m wearing it here.

I swirled a finger in the pan, then wet it with Make Up For Ever Mist + Fix, then pressed it on my lids.

Victoria is known for doing this kind of glossy lid, so it makes total sense to me.

FYI, when I’m applying Bitter Clove, it drops a little glitter on my cheeks and beneath my eyes, but it’s just a bit. I can deal with it.

AND, GIRL, if you’re going to put anything on your wish list, let it be this rose gold illuminator thing-a-ma-bob called Modern Mercury Highlighter ($65), which shouldn’t be allowed to be this beautiful.

The texture is totally interesting. It feels scandalously soft, like a gel/cream/powder hybrid, and the powder is so fine that I swear it whispers sweet nothings to me. “Karen…I’m such a sexy highlighter, and there’s nothing else out there like me.”

It’s dreamy… It has a pearly glow like the Hourglass Ambient Powder Highlighters but looks almost wet. I like to use it as a highlighter on my face and an eyeshadow on my lids.

VB’s Eye Foil in Blonde Gold ($36) is a cream glitter shadow with fine pieces of bright cool-toned yellow glitter in a clear base (it has a doe-foot applicator). What I love is how the glitter pieces come in different shapes and sizes that are all still pretty small, so it looks fun but not cheesy.

I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it about this launch! Did you get into VB’s collection when it came out last fall?

Keeping up with (Karen and) the Kardashians

I had the weirdest dream last night!

I dreamed that I was hanging out with the Kardashians…and I was having absolutely no fun whatsoever because they didn’t have any sense of humor. To be fair, I don’t know the Kardashians, so I don’t know if they’re fun in real life.

Anyway, we were all staying at the same house, which looked kinda like my house, except that it was WAY more glamorous.

It was so random! In the dream, I was staying in the guest room (which I don’t have in my real house), and to make it more homey, I decorated it with cat lady decorations — some cat lady towels and a framed cross-stitch piece of wall art that said, “I’m a Crazy Cat Lady!”

Then, for some reason, the younger versions of Kylie and Kendal (not the makeup mogul and model versions) kicked me out of the room without telling me. I walked in there and saw that they had taken down my crazy cat lady decorations and hid them under the kitchen sink.

Later, Kim and I got into a huge fight, but I can’t remember what we were fighting about. It escalated into both of us threatening to destroy each other’s jewelry, of all things. Kim was threatening to throw my dangly gold costume earrings away, and I was ready to pop off because I took her wristwatch and said, “B*tch! You want to go toe-to-toe?! You want to go toe-to-toe?! I’m gonna f*ck you up!” and I took her wristwatch, walked out on the balcony and threw it on the hill in the dirt.

I don’t know where Mama Kris was in all this… Or Kanye! He was nowhere to be found.

Dreams, ya know? They’re weird.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Happy Friday and Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Are you wearing green today?

Dreams! I know nothing about the Kardashians either, but they asked for it when taking down the cat lady decorations. Unforgiveable.

The funny thing is that I’m pretty calm in real life and can’t see myself popping off like that, but I love that dream Karen has NO ISSUE letting loose.

How have you been? Happy Friday, by the way!

This whole post had me cracking up from the first sentence. It’s too early, Karen. LOL!! j/k it’s never too early for shenanigans.

I was interested in “V-Beck’s” last collection, but sometimes I feel like I’m not sophisticated enough to wear Estée Lauder lol. Maybe it’s the packaging. I know that sounds weird, but it’s true and I need to get over it because you just made me want to buy every one of these items.

Now about that dream…I just don’t know. I need to finish my coffee before I break that one down. ahahahaha!!

Why must bitter clover be so so dang gorgeous and so expensive! This is a MY SHADE FOR LIFE color. Ugh! I so wish EL would make it a permanent shade.

ME TOO! I wish all of the things I’ve tried from this collection were permanent. Have you played with the eyeshadow palette? It’s kind of amazing.

      Happy Friday to you!

I like the pretty shimmer of the eye foil. My lids have so many creases on them it would flake off on me.

I have weird dreams too. I think your dream self is more assertive because it’s a part of you that is under the surface and doesn’t come out in real life. It resides in dream life.

I’m happy to see Modern Mercury back. I might have to get it. I thought the last bronzer was delish but a little dark for me, Saffron Sun looks like a similar color, just for pale pasty princesses like myself.

As for the Kardashians, I don’t watch them and I’m not really a fan. I dream about them ALL THE FREAKIN’ TIME. Khloe and I are always having fun and everyone else is a shady beyotch. I’m also always telling off Scott Disick. Kayne and Rob never really show up. Caitlyn either.

The packaging is super sleek, exactly as I imagine posh spice’s make-up items in her pochette 😀 hehe
I really love Bitter Clove, it’s so charming both as shimmer and colour.
By the way, you’re not alone… I’ma already hating my hair and I’ve recently got a new haircut. Frizzy hair is a damnation!

I was set on purchasing modern mercury this time around until I saw on instagram that mac superb is going to be re-released… now I keep going back and forth between the two! Do you still own mac superb karen? Are they comparable to each other?

Your dream made me laugh, especially the toe-to-toe part. Dreams are weird. 🙂 I remember how much you liked the VB items the last time. I’ve actually been using a very warm, rich-looking brown EL eyeshadow as a liner for the past couple of days. Just sort of testing it out to see how long it will stay put.

My condolences on your K-word dream oops, I meant nightmare.
I have Bitter Clove and adore it, I ground mine up and made an alcohol/glycerin base, I use my finger to apply it to the outer third of my lid. I LOVE IT and I am definitely not a sparkle girl(age 60+) this is really stunning.
Next purchase from the group was Blonde Mink, I adore cream rouge and that color sang it’s way right into my heart, bought that($65 ouch) on advance order from Nordstrom, I like it so much that I just bought another on eBay for $38.
Did I mention that I am a former commercial makeup artist? Thought not, and I have never seen a color like Bitter clove.
Love your blog, coloring, and recipes.
Best regards, Ann (of a thousand faces)
