Urban Decay’s Novel New Book of Shadows Vol II

September 30th, 2009 by Karen 40 Comments

Urban Decay Book of Shadows Vol. II shadows

I devour books like they’re food! There aren’t many things I cherish more than a few uninterrupted hours alone with a good novel in a comfy chair, mmm…

Now, Urban Decay’s newest “book” (Book of Shadows Vol. II ($48)) may not have an ISBN and be in stock at Borders, but it’s still a novel product that I wouldn’t mind curling up with on a brisk fall afternoon. 🙂

That’s awesome! I love the cute little version of the primer potion, and I definitely want to give some of those shadows a try. I’m loving Misdemeanor, YDK, and Perversion. In fact I love all of them… why am I so attracted to all things shimmery?

I have this and absolutely love it!! A recent look I loved is misdemeanor on the outer corners and crease, homegrown on the middle of the lid and lower lashline, half-baked on the inner corners, and sellout on the browbone blended well with the other colors. 🙂

Hey girl, long time no comments! LOL. I know, I’m a bad poster. I check your blog every day, don’t worry about that — I’ve just been busy at work to type up clever little comments :D.

I love, love, love this book of shadows. I bought my first few eyeshadows when Hautelook had their UD sale over the summer and OMG. The pigmentation and ease/creaminess. WHAT have I been doing all this time without UD shadows? I need to stop all this tomfoolery called work and school and focus on beauty 😉

Have you considered doing guest looks of the day using something you’ve previously reviewed? I bet you’d get a few gorgeous combos you’d never even thought of! And everyone’s always looking for a new look to try. I think today my look is using NYX’s Chocolate (muted brown) all over the lid with some deep, dark gold from L’Oreal’s HiP duos… then rock out on my lower lash line with UD’s Chronic to the inner third, and finishing the last half with UD’s Goddess. Neutral with a pop. I love it.

I swear that UD makeup artists are geniuses. Every time I see a new lookbook or promo photos, the makeup — particularly on the eyes — is unbelievably stunning.

Again, the included photo tutorials are making me swoon.

I have last year’s Book of Shadows and I love it. I can see this one jumping into my cart when Sephora has it’s friends and family sale this fall (assuming that they are.) I like that this year’s version comes with a book of ideas. Cool.

      Hi Sarah,

You apply a thin layer on bare lids with a finger or a synthetic brush like the MAC 217 or 239. It goes on after your moisturizer and before your eyeshadow. Basically it gives your eye products more “stick” so they stay on for longer.

Urban Decay has two versions of the their Primer Potion — Original and Sin. I prefer Sin because it has a light shimmer. Plus, I find it works better for complex blending. 🙂

Hope this helps! If you have any more questions hit me up!
